Yeah i gotta agree^^just white would make a great veg panel........but you have some 630-660nm leds in there for flower......Spuzzum did tell us that cree makes some white leds that have more red in it than some cheap RED taiwanese leds...mindboggling:confused:

I am currently in the process of getting a quote from Shenzhen Luyizhi Technology Co. for a Apollo 4 equivalent model. I've requested the following:

3 x 630nm
3 x 10000k
1 x 5500k
1 x 2700k[/FONT]
I wanted to inquire at the best place possible about what white spectrum you would use in this scenario?

I am running a 12/12 schedule, so I want a heavy flowering emphasis. My experience with 5500k for vegging has been great and I wanted to look further into replacing blue diodes with white. Any and all input is appreciated and I will keep updated with my progress on the Apollo 4 LED.

YOUR PLAN IS GOOD I LIKE IT. BUT THAT'S TOO MANY WHITES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT HEAVY FLOWERING EMPHASIS. IT WON'T HURT, BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS:

8 X 660
4 X 630
1 X 10000
1 X 5500
1 X 2700

(or go for something in between?) ..or just follow your instict and experiment you'll have first hand experience

Your layout is exactly what I had before I second guessed myself. I went with the above panel as it was very cheap and the experimental side will be fun. Thanks for the reply, I will be starting a journal soon as I have 10 seedlings currently a couple days old.

I sense a "BS240 club" thread coming on... awright... I'm curious who has more than me on a small non-commercial grow? I have 6 of'em -- 5 flower & 1 veg! I'd really like one more veg to put in the middle of my flower cab -- it produces whiter more luminous light it seems to me it would be great with the flowering models in a 2 flower:1 veg ratio. I'm actually thinking now that I may take one flower out of my flower cab and put it in the other chamber with the 1 veg & 1 flower that has all the plants fixing to switch to 12/12 in the next week... and compare 2:1 vs. 3 flower.

The systems are newly introduced, and the first runs for our distributors are happening now. We will provide the new spec sheets, etc., in time for the product launch. The systems are going to be around $2000 retail, and will come down in price over time, like GPS systems that were expensive to start and got a lot cheaper eventually. The pictured system on the site is 420 watts total. Each arm is 80 watts and the unit has a 100w HID center light.

i'd give it the look cool effect so far. the HID in the center - what is that there for? will it help anything outside the center footprint?

Thanks so much for the info I got the FF ocean forest and added more perlite also I presoaked my seeds till they cracked then put them in the soil a week ago but they have not broke ground yet how long should this take and should I just start new seeds

If you go back a page and look at my recent bud pics, that crop is being grown with Fox Farms Happy Frog in Air Pots.
I've used Fox Farm's Oceans Forest in the past, but it has too much water retention and Nitrogen for an indoor medium under LED's.
Happy Frog, in conjunction with the Air Pots, lets the soil dry out on a near daily basis which is beneficial for your plants.
An HPS creates enough heat to help evaporation take place, LED's do not, so we need to find alternate methods to help it along.
That's where the Air Pots come in, if you're not sure what I'm talking about, follow the link:

The holes in the side of the container let the soil breath, encourages evaporation, and prunes the root, all in one.
Pruning the roots is also beneficial, as a root bound plant is an unhappy plant.

I usually give my seeds up to two weeks to sprout up before declaring them goners. It shouldn't take that long, but I've had a few pop up later than others so if its an expensive seed I will give it enough time to make sure.

were both these pictures taken at the same distance from the wall and at the same height? same extension on tape measure? The chrome looks brighter than the solarflare...

i noticed the camera was much closer in the Blackstar pic but i tried to match them on purpose for comparison. same tape measure same spot. both lights held at 32 inches biggest difference is the Chromes lenses concentrate all light just in center. Solarflare brighter all around and covers wider area but Chrome looks brighter cuz camera was closer and its intense center spot. but if you look at actual size of light spread between the two and intensity you can tell where extra watts in solarflare go.
