Javadog's Next Adventure

I understood this...I still appreciate the link and thoughts.

I am going to hang the freak on for another week.

Whew! This must be a good sign.

One note: I am sure that I am still occasionally giving the ladies
a leaner diet than I would like. There has been little to no
drooping between feed/waters, so I am not doing too badly...it is
just that a few times I have picked one of the stronger growers
up and found its pot to be on the light side.

I must make a nice long visit to the Hydro shop.

I can get better prices, but they have a selection that I can take
a close look at. I am going to build a platform for my tent and
will drain to a catch basin via tubes.

L8R!

Have you ever considering milk crates? I use them in my tent to raise and lower plants up. Get them free behind wall mart/k mart/target. They are very sturdy but also have many openings to run tubing

An interesting alternative.

I do have the wasted height (a bit < 2') over the tent
to use used it instead.

I will think on this.

Thanks bro.

When I worked at a local food chain, they had two size milk crates, the smaller of the two, a more "new age" milk crate, now that i think about it would work well with a hempy setup.

Also The pepsi and coke crates that openly hold the 2L I would love to get my hands on... maybe go stealth shopping tonight...although they don't leave the crates outside like they used to...maybe hit the pepsi factory lol

Wish I had room to put my records somewhere else, at least 6 crates there, but those will stay where they are lol. Love my vinyl.

Oh, those 2 liter racks (6) are amazing....insta-SOG.

I agree: protect the vinyl

I will think of something. I am pretty sure that my plants will end
up on the floor of the tent, during flower after the stretch, and so
I will still have issue with draining run off using hoses unless I raise
the whole tent.

If I can build it with $100 of wood, something as stupid as chopped
4X4's for legs, 2X4's for cross pieces, and cheap plywood for the floor,
then I just may do this.

Take care,

JD

Great looking grow man! I'm digging those hempy buckets, you gotta let us know if the flavor isn't as good as FFOF. I'm considering making the switch to save on soil after having the tobacco mosaic virus make me chop 3 plants in veg in my smart pots last run.

I was thinking for a drain system, why not just put all of your buckets up 10" or so and run tubing to a manifold into one larger line to a bucket or container of some sort. That way you eliminate spills and possibly even be able to reuse the waste or dispose of it easier.

Oh oh and I would just use 2x4's and 7/16 OSB. You could make it for around $40-$50. If you buy actually CDX or AC plywood, a sheet alone will run you $50. Sorry, I worked in a lumber yard 5 years and I wanna save you some cash if I can! :joint:

Bed time, oh and subbed!

Welcome aboard Lurk, and thanks for the time.

I would love to just raise the pots to support draining,

My tent is hardly taller than I am, and I have about 18-24"
of free space above the tent.

My plants will need all that my tent offers....this is the problem,
as any stand will have to be removed.

Heck, I might just do a better job of dealing with height, but
this seems like something that is going to take time to learn.

I will think about this.

Onward and upward,

if you are having pressure issues maybe just have your veg garden without a sealed environment with some ducting above the lights that is the air intake for your flower garden. Smell supposedly rises with heat but I have also heard from hunters that smell sinks in the AM and rises in the PM. Could be just hearsay but I would imagine it would be something to look into.

maybe to correct the pressure issues you could have a 1 inch gap in the ducting between the flower and veg rooms... this way any difference in pressure will be sucked through the 1 inch gap. or just put a couple holes in the ducting between the veg and flower garden... just enough holes to get the right pressure.

That is sort of thing that I am thinking of doing....just add an additional
length of ducting that will make the Clone Table another passive intake for
the system.

Thanks again for the time.

Humic acid like Floracicious plus etc...will help with the flavor that might be lost (or so it is said), but my side by side with soil and Hempy didnt taste different, or not by much at least since I didnt notice.

In the past I used a 4x4 flood tray in my tent with a 1"x2" in the back under it raising it up.
Runoff ran forward, but was sealed in for me to siphon or vacuum out.

Thanks bass....yeah, if I had a liner that would fit the tent
and not deform, then that might be the easiest way.

Also, I believe that I am covering Humic Acid with Liquid Karma.

I have fed the ladies some kelp extract, vitamins and minerals, and
some molasses also.

I am going to feed just molasses and water, then water, from here out.

This next week is week 9. I will probably chop at the end of week 10
at this point, but it is hard to say.

I will start checking trichs tonight and will sample each to see where
they are each at for real.

Take care,

JD

IMO, plants raised instead of tent may be the way to go, DIY table:2x4's, 1x2's,& plywood,staples/duct tape, vinyl ply (shower curtin) to cover, drill drain, rubermaid to catch run off.
under $50

I do lose about 14", you can build shorter (shorter catch reservoir) , I grow SOG mostly so 14" is acceptable for me

this is in a 4x4 tent

Its worth it on MY lazyness scale to empty only one rez, rather than worry about indiv trays & hoses.

I change vinyl every two rounds, works well

hope this helps

peace..✌

I really like that more than my stupid 4x4 tray.
Great idea and thanx for posting that!

Thanks for taking the time Bob.

I too am wanting a common res. I also need to be able to
water/feed my plants to run-off whenever I want or need to.

BTW, I took some shots the other day but never got to upload them.

Here is the whole tent:

There terrible shots are the first of the OG Kush and OG #18 that
I have posted. They are in the back and I just have not gotten
a photo that does them justice yet.

I was checking out the lower down buds. The Kosher Kush is really
doing a great job

Well, I made it through Week #8, but it looks like harvest will be after Week #9.
