Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Ya'll even read the posts in this thread? Acting like you're the only ones who been thru this? I was told in April that it would take 90-110 days and it took right at 90. You aren't the only ones who they don't give details too. Is it taking longer because of the opiod bill? Maybe. But do any of you realize how big of a victory that Bill was for ALL of us?! The wait is torture but I can tell you it's worth it to walk into a store front and get the stinkiest stickiest buds I've ever seen

Yes, I have been following this thread for a while. And because I have followed, it seems obvious there is some kind of slow down. There are always going to be one offs but it seems like there are a decent number of people over 90 days. If they take your money and tell you it can take 90 days then after that they should be able to give you some answers. I would expect that from any place that I gave money to. Everyone here seems kind and want to share information, I have not seen posts calling people out like yours with no value. I hope this thread doesn’t go in that direction.

Hey all, long time reader.

Dr. Appt & mailed in app - 6/26
Check cashed - 9/4

Med Card Clock says 9/17, but based on previous folks receiving their card ~17 days after check cashed, 9/21 seems more likely assuming the new bill delays aren't impacting me.

Hoping for it soon!

Couldn’t agree more.. well said, I absolutely agree I want answers and I believe that I’m entitled to some details regarding my application. After 90 days of waiting. I will also be asking to speak to someone in management this week. I will be at 100 days on Friday

Look I'm not being negative it seems like you two are, it's the government what do you expect? This isn't a private corporation where your angry callsa and tweets will change something. It's a pilot program like it or not they are allowing us to use a federally banned substance. Start making demands and see how far that gets you. I spent many years in the military and contracting for the state. You're wasting your breathe. I was told when I applied that email was the ONLY way to communicate with them. Maybe we should be thankful they answer anything on the phone? It's all bullshit don't get me wrong but in my opinion you're wasting energy.. spend your time on leafly researching strains etc. Have knowledge because while your dispensary staff is knowledgeable they don't know everything! I hope you're cards come soon, I hope recreational comes soon too, but y'all are harshing my mellow

Just applied for my card, after the new Illinois law, and am hoping that with no more fingerprint and background check, it will take less. I had my doctors visit Thursday, 9/13, and they said my application will be submitted this upcoming week. The website was shut down so they were very behind. I was told it should be 2-3 months and will keep this updated to help anyone out!

Has anyone else submitted their app since the new law about finger prints and background check have been done away with?

Just finally broke down and called the "855" telephone number. This is my first attempt to contact anyone.
A very nice lady answered after about a 10 minute wait on hold.
I was told that my application was approved on September 14th (check cashed Sep 7) , and my card was sent to the printer "on the east coast".
She went on to tell me that my card would probably print today, but that the east coast has just had a hurricane and that "they aren't sure what's
going on with that".
I cant imagine too much of a mail delay, if that is what she meant. Hopefully soon! I will post when it arrives!
(GreenCare Medical in Palos Heights for Doc and paperwork, prints, picture, etc.
Mailed packet 6/29...received by state 7/2......check cashed 9/7.....sent to print 9/14)

I called the 855 number 34 times today, I managed to get into the que 3 times however they were all eventually transferred back to the section that says “please call back at a later time due to high call volume” so I haven’t talked to anyone.

Also sent an e-mail today, no response yet.

Submitted and paid June 20. 89 days no word no card

Called today day 91 and was told it was still processing and they had no idea how long it would take just normally 90 days. I’m convinced that the change in law has screwed those of us who were processing when it happened. Now that the background check isn’t necessary I’m thinking they dumped a ton of applications on the Secretary of States office to finalize and now they are behind. They were trickling in before as the background checks were completed but now I think they just have a huge pile of apps waiting for the state to link to your drivers license and whatever else they do at the secretaries office.

Hey all. I finally received my card in the mail today, 09/17.

My timeline:

2 appointments with Innovative Express Care in Chicago June 20 & 21.

Application was submitted and CC charged 6/26.

Hopefully all you June folks will be resolved soon. Best of luck to you all.

I called today and was told I'm still processing. Submitted 6/15, card charged 6/18. I asked if something was missing from my app. They told me no and that everything looks good. I asked if they could give me any time frame and they said they can't. I then said I'm over 90 days and they asked if I could hold. They came back and said its at the Secretary of State waiting for an approval and that's all the info they can give me. Hope this will help some people with a timeline and congrats to those who have got cards recently.
