Hello all,

Here is my situation.. So in August of 2017 I had ACDF surgery to fix two herniated discs in my neck. So fast forward a year and tired of pain...I went to the Dr. and had my two visits on August 7-8, 2018. Credit/debit card payment taken on Aug 17th. Heard yesterday that IDPH hasn't begun to process July apps yet. So here I sit and wait...

One simply question, How can the new law with allow us to gwt a temp card, but they cant just give us our actual crd in a timely manor

The temp card process has not been put into play yet. The bill says they should have a plan in place for the new laws by December 1st and they are hoping to have the program working by January 1st. Right now the only thing that has changed in the process is they are no longer doing the background check. To my knowledge there is currently there is no way to receive or apply for the temporary card. Hopefully this will prevent people from prematurely trying to apply for the opioid card. The state will be continuing to manage applications in the order they are received.

Maybe I'm just trying to be an optimist but I think part of the reason they cut out the background checks and finger printing is so they can HOPEFULLY get caught up with the backlog of applications before the new laws are in place, but IL is broken, so who knows.

My timeline
USPS confirmed delivery to IDPH 8/17

Check has still not been cashed as of 9/12

Ok been lurking awhile but posting now still waiting on my card and getting mad as I hit the 85 day mark today. My timeline -

-Applied online 6/18
-Paid by cc and receipt sent also 6/18
-Called on 8/22 and was told they still hadn’t got to mine yet
-Called a week later on 8/29 after Rauner signed the bill and was told that they had begun processing and I was past the background check and it was at the Secretary of State.
-Called a week later on 9/5 and was told the same thing still at the sec state.

Finally called again today 9/12 and was told once more that it was at the sec of state and this was the final step. I’m getting worried because I have no idea why they would be holding it for so long they told me it’s out of their hands until the state approves it.

Apparently after approval it takes 10+ days to get the card too so I could be looking at weeks still. The lady today said it can take up to 90 days and when I told her that was next week she didn’t say anything

We’re in the same boat... I’m at 85 days right now, I emailed them today to ask for an update and all I got was the generic immediate response. Thought it would be here this week for sure.. don’t know why it’s bothering me so much now? I mean I cruised through July and August no problem but it’s like, I’m ready - it’s my turn lol

Day 87 today. Nothing in the mail again. I called one time at 2 and a half months and was told I was approved and it was sent to the Secretary of State. This was 13 days ago. So I guess mine is being held up at the Secretary of State also and nobody seems to know why.

At least they said you were approved. I’ve been trying to get them to tell me that and they won’t, they just say it has gone to the Secretary of State and l will get a letter if it is approved or rejected

You should have it in the next 2 weeks. I got mine literally 2 days after I was approved. 102 days total.

Most likely, you will not get a letter , you are approved. It will just arrive. Many people never here a thing.

Rauner is going insane right now :hump:

Seems like all IL governors wait till the end of the term to start getting stuff done. Ill be voting Bruce Rauner this election.

Called this morning, day 86 and I actually spoke to someone over the phone.

“Good morning how can I help you?”

“Just wondering if my application has been processed or any updates at all?”

“Your application has been received and it will be processed in the order it was received”

“Ok, well, do you know where in the process my application is?”

“Sir your application has been received and it will be processed in the order it was received that’s all I can tell you”

“Ok then. I guess I’ll just keep waiting, I was told 60-90 days and I’m at 86 days now”

“Do you have any other questions?”

“No”

“Have a great day”

Literally zero insight or help...

I am 6/20 as well (cc charged) and got the same response today. The older sounding lady is just rude, todays girl was pleasant but no info, but the guy will actually give you some info. I have read the new law and the only thing they might be questioning for some is the doctor patient relationship. This is pure speculation. If I have any new info after tomorrow’s call I will post. Good luck to all!

Hello all,

I’ve been watching this thread for months as I await the golden ticket in the mail, as I just received confirmation from IDPH that my application was finalized, I thought it appropriate to share my timeline.

6-18-18 Doctor Recommendation.
6-19-18 Live Scan/Photo*.
8-30-18 Called, no helpful info.
9-5-18 Called, informed app was received in July.
9-12-18 [Yesterday] IDPH calls, missing photo and proof of residency (ID did not match address on app). Emailed photo copies to representative, another phone call from same rep stating the additional info was received and CONFIRMED my card would be here in the next two weeks!

Hang in there ya’ll!

I was wondering the same thing. It does seem like there has been a pause in approvals in the past few weeks. Definitely let us know if you hear something from IDPH.

I was told the same thing. Said I was approved and I would have the card in 2 weeks. Its been 2 weeks and still no card. I don't trust anything they say. Something is going on. People were getting approved then the new opiate law happened. Since then its been at a stop. I submitted electronically 6/15 and card charged 6/18. 88 days since card was charged. 91 days since I submitted application and nothing.
