Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Thank you everybody , I went to the Clinic in mundelein , a very pleasant experience, didn’t take long at all
Just as a follow up, my first visit was super informative and very relaxed. I felt extremely comfortable.
As part of my 'welcome package' I was given a Pen, Spiral Notebook, Bic Lighter and PopSocket all with their logo on them. Along with a Grinder and a glass hitter. All of this was inside of a reusable black bag, which earns me 10 points on their reward system if i bring it back with each visit.

I also get a text message each morning telling me the current deal , as well as their daily menu e-mailed roughly 30-45 minutes before their doors open.

I am very pleased with how well informed they keep me , their staff has been phenomenal , and I am truly blessed to be just across the street from their location. highly recommend !

Nice I was not that happy with earthmed prices where as I see in the website of other dispensaries I'll switch and see if the next dispensary is better all I got was a battery for my cartridge and a choice of edible or joint for a freebie

Rauner finally does something right and signed a bill that will allow people that have an opioid RX to get medical MJ and don’t need the ridiculous fingerprinting or having to get a background check.

Got my card wednesday and immediately went to Mindful MMJ down in addision. I live up in chicago but the prices here compared to some of the dispensaries in the city are well worth the drive. The owner and the bud tenders were all really sweet. Since I'm familiar with bud I just ended up grabbing a 1/4 of BG Chunk Dawg for $50 and they gave me a free gram of 24k Gold. Wanted to get concentrates but didn't want to go overboard on my first trip so Friday I'll be hitting them back up for round two. Nice to be able to finally legally possess and medicate. Good luck to everyone still waiting and to those about to apply - seems like things might be getting better

Ok so I am a patient person...I’m at day 76
, check was cashed.
Applied 6/16
No response on app status
8/17 check cashed
As of 8/29 still nothing
Signed up for that mail thing everyone talks about ...thanks guys ...new form of anxiety and disappointment
Pissed off at the new law ...we get fucked with back ground check and finger prints...maybe even the cost to obtain one.

Still hoping my card gets here this weekend..tired of waiting
Tired of asking my dealer hey what strain do you have ...he hangs up on
Me...
Sorry just venting...this process takes way to long and we have medical issues.
Not self inflicted opioid addiction.
Happy for them ...salty at what we had to go through

I emailed to ask how the temporary cards will work and if they will apply to those that are waiting for their card already. Seems the law won’t be implemented fully until December 1st. Here’s the reply I received.

Thank you for your interest in the changes to the Medical Cannabis Program. Although the law is indeed effective immediately, there remains a signification amount of work to be done before the program can be implemented. The Act requires IDPH and the other agencies involved in the program to adopt emergency administrative rules by December 1, 2018. IDPH will also have to make changes in the registration process to implement the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program.

Please check the IDPH website or the Statewide Medical Cannabis Program website for program updates as we work to implement this new initiative.

One would think that, even if nothing else was instituted, if they just stop the background check and fingerprint analysis, that would greatly expedite their review process.

Notice of incomplete application.

I was seeing like 3 different doctors and all 3 forgot to send the certifying letter? Super disappointing. No answer on the phone.

Hey guys checking in, nothing yet, days seem to be going by slowly and at night I lay awake thinking about what could be. If only they would hand out temporary cards now to make the wait time less painful. Glory is the day I can walk into Moca with tears in my eyes because I no longer have to argue with dealers asking what they have wether it be a hybrid or indica or sativa. Tired of hearing its good shit. So here I Stand in the rain figuratively and literally cause it’s raining and my Uber is taking forever. Your boy Ej
Ps. This tim the dealer wasn’t lying I am up in space orbiting earth but wanted to leave a message lol

Hey everybody I went thru pops 24/7 fingerprinting as well. Things seems to be progressing just like they told me. Here’s my timeline thus far:

Submitted: 6/16/18
State cashed check: 8-17-18
Still waiting for my card. Here’s to hoping tomorrow the day

New here but have been lurking for a month.

I saw Dr Footerman end of May, and was submitted online by his office.

Timeline
6-12-18 Submitted
8-22-18 Letter stating Dr Cert missing (Letter stated due by 8-20?? I must now time travel it seems)
8-22-18 PM letter emailed to state by Dr Footerman.

How much will that effect my timeline?

I have been quietly waiting. A word to those that find they are out past 90-100 days, my wife is a retired SOS Police officer (she pushed me to the MJ Card BTW) and she said if we or others are getting the run around, to call your state representative. They are how you move mountains in the state's red tape mess.

I know this works since I called mine over a CCW issue created by a POS with the same name as me. Resolved in 1 week.

I sure hope today is the day but I am really holding out for the 10th or 12th next week :wall:

Card came today, pleasant surprise.

For some reason my doctor or his staff placed a dispensary already on my application, so when I went to the one near me they said I would have to wait 24 hours. What a let down.
