kool homie... also, on your root solution... when my roots came out of my drain holes, i would pinch off what was hanging out and try to tuck the rest inside the container.. i dont know if this is right, nor beneficial,... but it did help to keep my roots inside their homes... lol..

i feel ya on the trimmin thing.. i was super agressive with mine and i felt like i was butchering my baby, but all in all, it seemed to work for the better... thats all you gotta keep in mind... it does promote growth in other spots...

cool, yeah i might do something like that. i also read about putting some sort of coarse fabric mesh inside the pot, but there's no way i'm transplanting these ladies now... maybe a mesh outside with duct tape...hmm....

here's my pic update of the evening. the girls are 12 days old (from clone). the growth is vigorous. i've had them under 2 x T5s (each 24w, cool 6500k) in 2-gallon pots. these pics are about 2 days after my first and only Topping, and already quite trained on the LST.

first, amnesia/g13... looking beautiful from above:

close-up on the new post-topping growths, and closing in with my cheap-o macro lens lol...

a view from below to show the heavy branching going on...

and of course, no pic update would be complete without blue cream...

Very Nice homer! That LST looks good man! That plants are healthy and everyones happy.
thanks arch, it's only 2nd week of veg and these babies are already starting to stink up the apartment (according to the g.f.). gonna have to enclose them and get some legit carbon filter action going.

Looks like ur off to a great start.
thanks mass, appreciate it man.

loving the gangster lean haha looks like it promoting great branching cant wait to see these finish
haha, gangster lean. yeah i was looking at the girls tonight, wondering if maybe it wasn't the wisest thing to lst them so early, but as you point out, that's probably the main reason the branching is going so well. i can't tell how much the topping helped, but i'm thinking it's the lst that's really forcing the branches to grow upward.

anyway, like i said before, i'm planning to veg the new branches out a few more days until i can lst them to the edges of the pot (maybe not in a big circle, but in spokes or something) and then switch to flower. gonna be exciting :)

p.s. i added two 2 x 23-watt cfl's (6500k), one pointing at each plant... probably more than these babies need right now, but why not. they've been handling everything quite well so far.

yeah i would give it a few day before the new shoots actually get big enough to train i've only topped once in my first grow but i do believe it helped out significantly i had about 8-9 big colas on each of them

The girls got their first trim today. It was tough... took me like 10 minutes just to figure out which leaves to trim. I mostly moved and bent leaves around to expose newer growth, but eventually I did trim some leaves (partly to prove to myself that I could, lol).

Pre-trim glamour shot, blue cream on the left, amnesia on the right:

Finally, proof that I actually trimmed something lol:

great lookn plants especially for clones imo. And i feel the same way when i trim, or top, or bend or really anything other than petting and whispering sweet nothings at them lol. thats why i did multiple plants and used the runts as test subjects. I thought about buying that wire but went cheap and used the hemp i had. now it looks like a hippy spiderman came through my plant haha

haha i know what you mean man with the sweet nothings lol. you gotta be gentle with the lst'ing, i think i'm getting the hang of it. i remember my first grow i tried doing that "stem fold" thing where you bend a stem until it kinda snaps but the skin doesn't break? well, i broke the skin lol, but my plant survived. i may need to do that later in this grow, i don't know, but i have a better touch for the stems now. and hey, if hemp works for you that sounds perfect! thanks for posting bro, +rep.

Beauties homer. Your have them training just right.
thanks arch. if you think so, then i must be doing something right :) you know, i wasn't sold on this floral wire before but actually it's so easy to bend and it stays in whatever position you bend it, so i am barely even using the hooks right now, the lst work is being done almost entirely by the wire bends on their own, if that makes sense...

your gonna surpass your last grow by a butt load.. lol.. awesome sauce homie..
thanks a lot micro. can't wait till these babies are vegged into place so the party can begin. i'm pretty sure i'll do better than my last grow, don't know how much a butt load is but if i get a dry ounce off each that'll be gold.

Nice girls you got there. What size pots r u using bro? Keep up the grow. Respect man.
2 gallon pots. I put them there right off when I got the clones. Last grow I used 1 gallon pots and got 1/2 oz off each plant, so I figure this time I'll get 1 oz off each right? Haha something like that.

honestly i haven't smoked either before, i but i'm a sativa fan and read great things about amnesia/g13. i was told blue cream was kind of like blue dream (which i have tried) but with more of a head high. on the other hand, after reading more about it, it sounds like blue cream is more on the indica side, but that's cool, it's good to have variety... an ounce of each would be plenty, in fact, more than enough. i'd have to probably freeze some of it. i loves my ganja but i can only go through it so fast lol.

right now my biggest thing is gonna be containing the smell when it starts smelling, and i can tell it's gonna be a smelly closet this time around :/ . if any of all y'all have suggestions for good odor control for a real skunky strain, share your wisdoms! i'm starting the search tomorrow for a good box/cab/tent and a good fan/carbon filter combo.

man i've had an evening with ween in san fran under the influence of a couple of my own sour diesel / purple diesel mixed joints, life is good. :bigjoint:

Homer,

Great journal/thread. I am growing a g13 Amnesia Haze I got as a clone from a Norcal dispensary myself right now, so I am following this with great interest. You are doing a great job on the postings. Can't wait to see what happens when you flower them.
