Looks awesome brotha!! I'll get back to you on some ideas for names after I smoke a few bowls lol.

As far as the topping/ lst just be very gentile pulling the 2 tops apart because I have split one before even though with some duct tape it didn't seem to effect it lol... I would let them recover for a good amount of time and let them stretch a little bit before you start tieing the 2 main tops. Thats about all the advice I have on that which you probably already realized but I just thought I would throw it out there :) Anyway I'm subbed and I'll be around, and of course +REP for a great start!

How long you gonna veg and flower for?
planning about 3 more weeks of veg, give or take, until there's a good collection of bud sites distributed around the pots, then extended dark period (props to arch), flip to 12/12, and do 12/12 for ~8 weeks for blue cream and ~10 weeks for amnesia/g13 depending on appearance and trich color (going for maximum cloudy). that puts harvests around april 6 and april 20 (or maybe a week or so later)... thanks for asking! now i know as well. :bigjoint:

smelly, GREAT to have you on board brotha! and welcome back to riu too man, your grow is insane. excellent advice on the topping. i was kind of thinking that, but it's good to have it confirmed... so letting the "double tops" grow out a bit will probably push the veg period a little longer than i thought, depending on growth rate... in fact, i think they're ready for the first up in lights. that should encourage the new "double tops" to grow out, and i'll wait until they have a good stretch before tying them down. thanks for the +rep and i would give you one but... you know how it is... lol

homer371, I'm subbed! Looking good! I did try the LST around in a circle, and for me, I didn't like it. I may have done it wrong though haha. I noticed on my grow that the cola's all seemed to be around the edge of the containter, and the light was towards the middle, and I don't think I got good enough light to the underside of the cola's as they didnt' turn back to straight up and down. I obviously did something very wrong lol.
Can't wait to see those ladies grow!

Hopefully I get my Blue Mystic beans soon, cause I think I might try that circular LST and Topping, thanks for the idea. But, do you know if you can take a clone when doing this and if so how? My beans are femmed and I dont want any hermies so I'll be trying for lowest possible stress. Anyways looking good bro. Respect man.

thanks allforit! yeah, i'm still not 100% sure the circle will go all the way around lol, but i'll give it a try. might have to attach new hooks on the inside of the pots to weave the main branches up and down, i don't know, it'll be a fun experiment either way! grats on your harvest by the way!

yeah, technically i don't see why you wouldn't be able to make clones this way. you only need about 3-4 nodes worth of growth, as i understand, so you can let a branch grow up a bit and then slice it off. as smellytreez has proven, you can even take clones late into flowering (check out his latest grow thread!). as for femmed beans, i'm not sure about stress and hermies, maybe someone else can illuminate? in any case, lst (if done right) should be "low stress", and as long as you don't take too many clones at once, the plant should recover quickly.

+rep for the good picture guide for anewb on LST :D

+subbed for the ride man great lookin grow already!

thanks krok for the +rep, right back at you! glad to have you on board. i'll have a new picture update in the next couple of days, the ladies are loving the topping and there's all sorts of new growth. i'll try to take some clear shots of the next lst in action so others might learn... we'll see, lol.

Awesome!! Keep it up!
Thanks smokey, will do! +rep for stopping by.

Awesome strains can't wait to see how they turn out
Neither can I man, +rep to you.

Guys, these plants are going to be monsters. It's only been 10 days since the transplant into the 2-gallon pots, and the roots are already starting to come through the drainage holes!!! Should I be worried about root rot / constriction? Any good solutions to roots escaping from the bottom?

By the way, topping & LST has done wonders for new growth & branching. I will post new pictures very soon, stay tuned.

As for the circular grow that I've been aiming for, turns out you are supposed to let the two main topped branches grow vertically for a few weeks, and only then start training them horizontally. I've been doing it all wrong lol. Here is a VERY informative link on the subject and also has a lot of other valuable information for newbies and experienced growers alike. For sure check it out:
https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/360125-new-growers-needed-grow-lab.html

So I think I'm going to do as SmellyTreeZ suggested and let the new branches grow UP for another several days or a week, and THEN start training them horizontally. If I don't manage to do the whole circular thing, at least I will try to tie down the branches across the pot, and once they're trained (about another week), and switch to flower.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think about the root issues, and stay tuned for new updates later today... peace.

Now that guy hobbes is a master at LST. I remember reading that thread earlier on. Lots of good info. Great job digging it out homer!

Yeah arch, i remember reading it way back during my first grow, thinking "ah, some day i will do this circle crop of bud, and it will be great". and now that i started my second grow, i couldn't find the thread until it was too late, lol. but anyway, it doesn't matter, as long as i get a nice even distribution of bud sites, which i'm still confident i can do. the genetics of these two plants are quite something, you'll see in my next pic update.

damn... should of been here alil earlier.. yeah.. the ccob method is awesome.. figure out the half the circumfrence of your pot, let your shoots grow to that, then tie it around.. something i noticed on mine is that when the shoot was tied over, what was once the main cola just sorta stopped growing out, and the plant bushed more... i believe subcool grows in the ccob method some... thanks for the props on the camera thing.. piks look great... im likn the t5 setup.. simple and very applicable to your grow... i just subbed, so imma be around for this homie.. good luck... only "defoliate" when leaves are covering potential bud shoots or "internode growth"... i would actually only suggest clippin half the petals on each leaf that are in the way, you do want leaf, just not leaf blockin potential sites.. thats where i had an issue of my lower buds not fillin out like the tops... no leaf for plant energy.. hope that made since... anyways.. like i said, yours are lookin good.. wish i could start off with legit clones... its all good though.. one day... lol..

micro, great to have you on board man!! thanks for the suggestion on trimming leaves. that seems like a sensible solution... clip the parts of leaves that are covering bud sites that can't otherwise be moved. it's hard because they all look so green and vibrant, but i gotta do it lol. i like to do all my lst'ing / trimming in the mornings, so probably the earliest i'll be able to trim is thursday. anyway, great to have you around micro. pic updates tonight!
