H2O2 dosing question

Hi, I was hoping someone could advise me as to how much H2o2 I should add to my nutes. I have a 16 litre resevoir and the strength of the H202 is 17.5%, Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any info.

( I tried searching but the search feature seems to be "broken".:-()

Also should I be using the H202 in the solution I'm using for pre rooted clones?. thanks again.

just looking at my h2o2 (growthtechnology oxy-plus h2o2 17.5%) datasheet. it says 5mls oxy-plus per 10ltrs of tank volume in hydro systems, and 2mls per/ltr of water for treating rockwool prior to rooting clones, for rooted clones id assume the dilution rate for hydro systems would apply, for cleanup/sterilisation of pots or hydro systems add 100mls per 10ltrs of water flushed through the system. 2mls per ltr of water for soaking seeds prior to germination. h2o2 test strips are available, optimal h2o2 level in res 30-50ppm ;-)

Hi Londoner thanks for the info, I picked up a bottle of H2O2 but didnt get the data sheet.

Hey there. My advice will be to go to this thread and READ it!! https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/94811-al-b-faqt.html

There are at least 15 different ways and types and solutions to H2o2 questions. If you cant find your answer there it does not exist. And you get valuable information there while your reading a researching.

Good luck

TY sparkafire,

I read this from "Al.B.Fuct.".."35% is used at 1.7ml/L every 3-4 days, 50% @ 1ml/L same interval."

So as I'm using 17.5% strength I should be using roughly 2.5ml/L every 3-4 days?. My fractions arent the best!!.

All help greatly appreciated.

No worries 1.7 + 1.7 = 3.4? Not a metric guy sorry

well the 50% stuff has a .5ml pure h2o2/L water ratio.
The 35% stuff has a .595ml pure h202/L water ratio

If you need more 17.5% like you needed more 35% than 50%, then you would need

.705ml pure h202/L water for 17.5%. Which would be about 4ml/L in the end.

But that is all assuming these are exact ratios which I am sure they are not. I am just stoning and I do this kind of crap stoning. I would say anywhere from 3-4ml/L would be fine.

:blsmoke:

50%=1ml/L
35%=1.7ml/L so a .7 increase for a 15% decrease,

I'm decreasing 17.5% from 35%@1ml/L so add .7 for the 15% which makes 2.4ml/L and throw in .1 for the spare 2.5% which makes 2.5ml/L

but I see the logic of 35%=1.7 so 17.5% makes 3.4.

Londoners datasheet states 5ml per 10 Litres which is .5ml per Litre ??

I'm confufled.

ya mahn...3.4lm/L every 3-4 days to ward off evil spirits.

So for your 16L res you'd need roughly 50ml of 17.5% H2O2. A little extra won't hurt!

Are you having a pathogen problem?
Thanks corral hollow kid,

I'm not sure if there are pathogens present but hope to wipe it out if it is there and to keep things right from now on. Any info on the use of H2o2 on clones that have been plugged into presoaked Rw cubes?.

sorry if i gave you any wrong info, i only use it to sterilise my pots between crops, i dont use it for anything else. was just quoting the growth technology datasheet that came with the bottle.

Yet again Al has your answer in https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/15030-batch-clones-rockwool.html

Al B. Fuct said:
Immediately before plugging in cuttings, cubes are each given about 25ml of a clone watering solution made from:

* 9-10L tapwater
* 9-10ml H2O2 (50% horticutural grade)
* pH adjust as needed to 5.8 (correct pH last)

So in that case you are looking at at 1ml/L, so yet again .5ml pure h2o2/L. So put the same ratio of 3.4ish ml/L in I would imagine.

Hey no worries Londoner, thanks for the interest u and time you took, I havent applied the stuff yet and the ratio u passed on wouldnt have been an overdose anyway, far from it, TY again.

Great stuff Return of the Spork very appreciated.

From what I am learning, when the H2O2 gets mixed into H2O it releases that third O2 molecule and it begins searching for something to attach itself to. Something organic like a pathogen.

Think of H2O2 as vitamin C for your roots, and penicillin for your reservoir. You'd really have to go seriously overboard to damage your plantalonies!

While I'm at it have any of you used or heard anything good/bad about this ec meter?. COM-100: WATERPROOF EC / TDS / TEMP COMBO METER seems pretty reasonable to me.
I have not heard anything good or bad. Here is my 2 cents worth.

Don't get a combo meter. It's a bad idea. Spend the extra dough and get separate ph/ec meter and pH meter. You'll be better off in the long run. Check some threads...you'll see what I mean. The "old timers" don't ever recommend combo meters.

For what it's worth, I like Milwaukee meters. The waterproof sharp pens are the BOMB!!!

Check out this link: http://www.eseasongear.com/miphwaphttep.html

I like these guys. Good pricing. FREE SHIPPING - for now. The stuff comes in a day or two! This probe is waterproof and has temperature compensation. This is the one I want!!!

yep get seperates mate, if you have an all in one unit and it becomes faulty your whole monitoring system is gone. i think the NZ/Bluelab waterproof ec/cf truncheons are pretty good, i dont use my one anymore now cos i grow organic in soil, but its 7years old now and it still works fine, theyre robust as fuck and never need calibrating apparently...
