H.A.F. growing stink-flowers in dirt with QB's

Ended up with 2.7g after decarb on the keif. Gotta do the math before I make budder.
Since I had the Nova out I also decarbed some gdp (left) and skunk. I set a fresh nug by a sample of each for comparison.
IMG_9339.JPG
So I have this, then another few grams of second run keif. It still looked more yellow than green (still close to first run quality) I think because some of the leaves weren't completely dry, and I got more fresh stuff after they did. The leftover trim is waiting on me to get a bottle of everclear and see what I can get out of it.

WARNING! I ate a nug about an hour ago - no telling where this will go! LOL

I used to try infusions with the herb, but there is always waste/loss. The buds you see will ease your pain as is - the rest is to make it palatable. I like the actual taste of the decarbed flowers. So once I figure out the rough strength of it (based on how it hits me) I have a table that shows grams of THC and percentages and whatnot.

For example: good, frosty, well handled homegrown will generally get you the advertised THC for those seeds or that strain.
If it is 20% THC that means that 1 gram of flower contains 200mg of THC. It's all math and dosage from there once you figure it out.
For me a 'dose' is what I have figured to be 50mg. (whether or not it is or not, it works)

If I guestimate it at 20% based on the advertised compared to how well I grew it, .25g = 50mg
If it puts me on my ass, 25%, and .2g = 50mg.
So I just weight it before I use it, and add it to food as is or just eat a nug.

The reason I do budder is that the THC content of keif is anywhere from 40% to 75% (or more) it's not 100%, just because of the weight of the glands themselves holding the THC - so it gets down to how fat AND how potent your trichomes were. So one gram of primo first run could have 750mg/g. To be safe and have easy math I count mine as 50% or 500mg/g then see how it affects me. But a dose of 1mg having 50mg (or 75) means that dosing is just harder to try and use the keif as is. Also because the keif doesn't need to be strained.

Since I'm here and can't get up right now ;) I'll figure out the budder-math. I was going to write it down anyway.
50% = 500mg/g x 2.7g = 1350mg
1350mg / 50mg doses = 27 doses.
I have 15 dose 'magic-budder' silicone molds that hold 10mg in each dose so 270mg of butter right?

BUT (glad I am doing this or I would have forgotten again) last time I found out that my NOVA sleeve doesn't hold that much. :wall: But what will fit goes back in and you just hit the button again and let it cycle.

But that's how I do the math after decarb. I'll either do this in batches, or halve the amount of butter and just cut the things in half after they are solid.

Trying to decide where to top for the manifold, and I think I see a clue. The "3rd?" node (first shoot that's left) or the 4th? It looks like the trunk remains the exact same diameter after the 3rd node, then shrinks after the 4th. So the stuff is already "choking" down (carburetor, manifold, get it?) by the time it gets to the 4th. I think the 4th is the one to keep and will make a fatter knuckle.IMG_9346.JPG
This one I need to carefully defoliate to see what the hell is in there. I think it has nodes? Same age, half the height, no stretch. Pure indica.IMG_9345.JPG

The deed is done. Not sure on the Skywalker, but I think the Bruce Banner will be a lot easier being a sativa. And another tip I have already brought up is the grafting wax. I treat that like water or cloning gel if you were taking clones. I have it ready to go and get it on quick to keep air out.

I use an oz. of trimmings ( decarbed ) love making fruity pebble Rice Krispies ! Just made a pan with the new flavor Strawberry Rice Krispies , 2 x 2 piece sets me for a long time .
Loving your Glog ! :)

Drying slow, so I pulled them out to take a closer look and make sure nothing bad was happening. Everything smells great though. Hung up that RAW loader we all have for comparison. I think they're about 3/4 the original size now. I used a finger tip on each nug to pull it out a bit and they went right back, but I looked at a few through a loupe and there was nothing bad growing or anything.IMG_9351.JPG

2.7g, and I worked it out to 27 doses. That means .1 gram of keif per, or 50mg per dose.
Pro tip - There's 26 in the tray.
I get a big glass bowl, and rinse everything with boiling water - into the bowl. Stir it up good, then put it in the fridge. the keif skeletons sink, the infused butter floats and solidifies. Last (first) dose in there ;) I hit that shit up as a tester

As it cools, any keif settles to the bottom. You could filter it, but why bother. Some end up with way more than others, but I have noticed no difference in strength. I think the infusion part of the NOVA rocks too.

I just put the butter on something I'm eating, but if you wanted to do actual edibles, figure out how many doses (like, I'm making 12 brownies) and put that much budder in - then top it off with regular oil or butter to the amount required for the recipe.

39% original weight, I am checking the biggest one (haven't really touched the others) and when it gets to 20-25% I'll start putting one in a jar to check the rH

On this one you can see the difference between the original pistils and the foxtail ones.

LOOKS GREAT ! Should be Dank :)
Thanks!
I am not taking them out for a glamour shot until they're done, but they all fit on 2 racks now. So other than "they all less than 1oz, but more than a half ounce" is all I know right now. That wardrobe is 20" deep, and they are spread out over 15"...IMG_9388.JPG

If you ever noticed that nute lines have extra additives not in their "basic" pack? I don't care which brand, they all do it now, but here's a little fact pic.
IMG_9384.JPG
Pictured is the lowest limb bud on the dyna-gro (basic) nute pack, and the FF Trio on the right, with all the bells and whistles. You can see the structure and everything is the same since it's the same strain, but the fatness is what you pay for - and apparently get.

This is the FF Trio (full line) in the front, and the gen-hydro (basic) in the back. Can't see it as well in this one because the aspect is all effed up
*hits joint*
but if you look just at the tops, the GH grew just as tall as the FF. You CAN see stem on the GH top in between the nugs. The "plump" isn't there.
