i got a question about the rockwoll since im unfamilliar wiht it , ( i love soil lol )

how does it work exactly, is it a like a cube made outta paper and fibers, and the roots just grow in it ? is theres a specific size need to get? or i just get one small one, and put clone in it, and roots will come out of it but i leave it out in the air like that ?

Rockwool, the way I understand it, is extruded spun lava rock (like candy cane). Rockwool is actually a brand name I believe.

It looks almost like grey fibreglass. Very porous, roots tend to love it, at least in my experience. Allows for good oxygenation of the roots. As you will be hand feeding, just make sure to prevent it from drying out.

It can be tricky that way.

I only made the suggestion. There are ways you could use soil even. You coud get a decent soilless mix, drill holes in the bottom of the hydro table for drainage and just flush to waste. Meaning, water and let the leftover water run thru onto another catch tray of some kind, the dispose of the run off.

If you feel more comfortable with soil, this is always an option. Growing pot is like building a PC...pretty much every kind of combination you can think of can be created.....within reason...maybe bad analogy.....lol.

You can in fact buy small cubes to put your cuttings in. I used the peat pellet method to sprout my clones, then once the roots break thru the pellet, I would put the cutting into the bigger slabs of rockwool. How many and how you space them is up to you.

right now i have, a 400 watt kit with hps & ceramic metal halid bulb( good for flower and veg ) ,
150 watt hps ,
6 160 watt uva/uvb mercury vapor self-ballast lizard bulbs ,
a 245 cfm squirrel fan

damn , think im over my budget , maybe not o.o ! lets find out!
am i missing anything else?

If you are hand watering, I am not sure you need the water pump. Save it for next time and save some money. Learn the rockwool feeding rates by hand now, then apply with a pump on the next batch.

There might be other supplementals to consider, like Vitamin B-1

Rooting gel for cuts. Maybe a cheap thermometer to mount on the wall to keep an eye on temps. Drawing a blank for more stuff....but there will be more you should try and put a little cash aside for. Once up and running though, and a few batches pounded thru (pun intended), then it will all be worth it.

you know what i was thinkin about right now, i cant really use, jiffy pellet into a rock wool , and then have rockwool in hydroton , cause when ill be harvesting like 30 plants, well ill have to clean that hydroton before i put in new clones right? , but that would'nt be possible since right beside on the floor theres gonna be more growing

FYI , the ones you see with 3+ sets of nodes , went threw hell .. literally .

ull see some pictures about the seeds, o.m.g .... i put in towel, 1-2 first days, nadda .. 3rd day i was'nt paying attention so i fergot , 4th morning , jump outta bed and i looked, and that new one you see sticking out , well it was 1 inch high in a kitchen plate lol i was holding it by the roots and put it in the soil ,worked ! lol

alrightyy , so im back on a quick update, gonna go pass out after lol

Grow tent on the way! , ballast 1k watt , hortilux bulb 1kwatt , flood table, 80 gallon reservoir , rockwool, ph down & up , base nutes , i checked my ph meter, dont even need a battery or plug, just dip in boom lol result .

hmm , also ya, i decided ill have my reservoir outside tent, not inside, gives me more space then to have as height, ontop of that i think ill cut on the ammount of plants, and go more for lower number , bigger bushs , what you think ? for more yield? flat carpet SOG ? or bushy couple plants ?
