hello all,

I currently am setting up a 5ft x 5 ft tent with 2 600 w full spectrum lights and would like some insight on my set up

I'm planning on potting 5-6 clonss in 1 gal pots in some.happy frog then transplanting the clones into 5 gal fabric pots after a couple weeks with some ocean farm and topping with gaia green all purpose after the first month after transplant. Im planning on using gaia products to top throughout the life and will be using the gaia power bloom for the flowering stage.
My clones ill be getting will be ready in about 10 days and will update with the types of clones ill be using.

I am new to the growing life and was wondering....

Will my 5 x 5 tent be good for 5-6 plants using the 2 600 w full spectrun leds?

Also, how often should i be topping the soil with the gaia all purpose and power bloom throughout my grow and whats a good length to veg prior to flowering?

Hi, I always subscribed to more is better, and with Mary it is. I have also came to the conclusion ( this is my experience) That you can do well and sometime better (meaning yield) with just a plant in a 4x4 so I would go (also what strains are you running?) this matters. I ran some afgan one time that never got over 3 ft tall and very tight compact plants, I could have got 4 of them in a 5x5 with out them getting to closterfobic. So I guess what Im trying to say is get informed, have fun and welcome. You may want to check out (low stress training) LST and What I call trellising this can be very effective with one or two plants, you can get a lot of yield.:weed::peace:

Doorhammer69 is right ... do some research before plunking down you cash. I will give you a quick comment on the lights ... assuming you're talking about 2 true 600w full spectrum LED fixtures, that's total overkill. Depending on whose it is, you would really only need one of them ... and there are 800 and 1000w fixtures too that would cover a 5x5 very nicely. Expect to pay $1,000 - $1,500 apiece for them.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input. I will be setting a tellis net up and trying the low stress training. Heard it could benefit a lot. The kit came in 3x3 or 5x5 options and figured I'd pay the extra for a couple more feet. Maybe I was wrong to do that but we shall see. Any experience with the fox farm mediums i have chosen and the ferts ?

I've been reading and reading these past months. I was planning on going with a 3 x 3 with one 600 w but my friend who I will be getting my clones from recommended to go with the 5 x 5. Maybe I have wasted the extra bucks on the extra light and feet. Should I maybe just run one 600 w in the tent ?

The 5x5 isn't a mistake. Worst case you'll have some extra space to work with. I'm curious what kind of lights you have. All you need for excellent lighting in a 3x3 is about a 315w fixture.

Yes, I use to grow strictly fox farm, start in happy warrior then transplant into ocean forest, did that for years. really good results. ( my buddy who runs hydro gets better yields) with that said, I don't push my girls, I have since been growing in a super soil blend, this is my prefered growing medium. You can't go wrong with the fox farm line, read the bottle, I wouldn't use the grow big , as ocean forest has a lot of nutrients readily available, I only used the bloom product. As for big bloom, which is a type of tea, I stopped using that as well, when I went super soil. I make my own tea now. There are many videos on youtube and a lot of info on this page. opps about your ferts, I myself am not familiar with that product. I suggest you read the bottle and or call the company. That never hurts.

You top dress weekly with Gaia Greens. Depending on what phase you use different measurements. And you want between 2-3 tbl spoon per gallon. Probably closer to 2 tbl spoon for you since your soil can be hot already.

So I found out the two 600 w full spectrum LED lights that come with the tent run 252w+5% actual power each. Will be starting with 4 clones in my 5 x 5 tent along with topping, lst and trellesing them. I have a regular circulating fan about 4 inches tall will I be fine with this one fan?. Also I have a 4 inch exhaust fan with a charcoal filter will the one exhaust be good or should I get another for the outake ? Cheers

Think hard before spending money on a kit with cheap LEDs. Assuming you're getting about 500 true watts of "blurple" lighting, you'll have enough to flower a 3x3, possibly a little more. Look in the LED section for ideas using quantum boards or COB lighting. Lights are your most important purchase, IMO (and decent genetics).

Some of you jumped the gun even talking shit about "we are talking about 600 real watt LEDs" when you should have assumed a new grower that was talking about 2x600 watt lights in a 5x5 meant cheap equivalent rated LEDs. Almost every day a new grower comes on here talking about I got this many 1000 watt LEDs and it always turns outs that's it's the cheap junk lights. I really wish they would stop advertising them as more watts than they are, it's just a scam to take advantage of new growers.

Did you really think a new grower had dropped 2k on lights for a 5x5?

Speaking of assumptions ... read through the thread and see my comments before talking your own shit :)
