Went with this fan hopefully its good. Only
purchased one 6 inch fan and using a air cooled hid light. Will the 6 inch be good to connect to the air cooled hid hood and suck the air out ? Is another fan necessary to bring fresh air in from outside ? Some had suggested I get a second fan to suck fresh air in and use my 6 inch i ordered as the exhaust . Also went with a Mars hydro tent. Using one 600 watt hid for now i got 2 600 w hids but going to try one in the air cooled hood for now
The air for cooling the lights is drawn from outside the tent, through the light(s) and then back out of the tent. No tent air is involved in the process. You will need another fan and a carbon filter for air being drawn through the tent itself

Slowly getting set up I have a 6 inch fan with carbon filter to be used to suck air from tent to outside. Getting another fan to be used to draw air in but do I need a filter for the 2nd fan if its used to bring fresh air into the tent ? Or could I use the one 6 inch fan to be used for both bringing air in and drawing air out

No ... no tent air should be involved in the process so no odor should escape.

Thanks. Would passive air intake work on a 4x4 tent with a 6 inch fan
Put a short piece of rigid 8" duct through intake on the side opposite the exhaust duct and cover the opening with a filter. Hepa is ideal but not completely necessary. Most hydro shops sell 8" duct covers. You want the intake to be slightly larger than the exhaust so you can maintain negative air pressure without sucking in the sides of the tent.

Hey guys. How much perlite should I add to my happy frog. Placing my clones into 1 gallon pots for first couple weeks in happy frog and moving to ocean forrest in 10 gallon pots from there.

yeah, hang the filter. also you should technically have your fan pushing air throught the light housing and a separate fan for the filter.

Any reason your worried about caving in? Does it seem flimsy? I have hung way bigger heavier filter than that with no issues. I also regularly stack stuff on top my tents with no worry to caving in.

Only problem i see here is 6 plants in a 5x5

I have a 5x9 and have 8 plants and they have outgrown my tent

Personally I wouldn't go more then 4 plants in a 5x5 but thats just me and my grow style.

Yeah that's all about grow style, I always ran 18 in a 4x8. 3 gallon pots of coco. Shooting for 3-4 oz a plant. The more you run in a space the less veg time it takes to fill it up.

Thanks. Gonna attached the filter to the hood and pull the air out of the tent/hooded light. I have another 4 inch fan but think ill use it as intake.

Carbon Filter->Hood->Fan->Exit for the 6 inch.

Im worried about it caving in with the filter up top
6 plants will fill up your space pretty quick so you will need to hang it eventually or put it outside the tent.

I've never used that brand but even the low quality tents can support a light and small filter.
