and last question let's so I'm flipping 12/12 right now... how long should I continue to tuck branches?

this gg and the growth rate has got me fucked up never grown anything like this! it's already bigger than plants that have been in veg for 2 months! the gg in the sip is just getting massive very fast!

plz excuse all the sticky traps lol I went over Board with them!View attachment 4242516
i see that's the glue on the left? yeah she's gonna double in height, if not more. i would tuck for the first two weeks and the third week just let it do its thing after that. it will still stretch some more between weeks 3 and 4, but you should keep it from getting out of control those first two weeks. I have a 4 pack of gg4 in my veg room i'm looking at right now thinking i'm a week behind what I should be doing with them. it's my first run of them in probably 6 or 8 months. i know what they like to do... i generally like to put them into flower when they are just past my knees in height, they usually end up about chest height from there. i've found tomato cages work really well with GG4, the 5ft tomato cages that is haha.

OK I lowered the scrog 2.5 inches, it's not alot, but really can't go any lower without butchering the girl, I'll keep tucking for another week then flip 12/12 and tuck for 2 more weeks after that, should have screen filled up, but we will see! if not I'll fix it next cycle!

Another thing you might take into account is your growing with straight HPS, you might end up with a little more stretch than say somebody growing with ceramics or LEDs. Not sure just a thought!

also the cake gave me a few cuts, gunna bury her in a sip as soon as I have enough room in veg, had to put her in a lil bigger pot for the time being!

I may actually just plant her into a 10g smart pot and throw it into flower, and use the sip for one of her clones! that way I can get her in flower faster, and do a good test run to see how she acts!CM181205-203538005.jpg

Nice GT, that glue looks to be close to being flipped. You may want to prune thise lower branches that haven't reached the screen yet and concentrate on the ones up top, they are going to stretch and give you multiple tops per branch that will need to be tucked. Concentrate the plants energy on the branches near the screen.

well ive got some issues with flower room and have to move it around, so it will be a week before I can flip. but I'm prolly gunna do a cola for each square or close! and all the bottom branches will all become new clones! that's why I'm letting them grow out!

The stretch is real with the Glue @Greenthumbs256 . I've flowered at under 12" and wound up with 44" plants in my 7' tall rooms. Grown under MH/LED/HPS...doesnt matter.
well bc of issues with a busted water pipe, I have to have a plumber here in my house and in the flower room,(I'm not legal!) luckily I Have not started anything in flower just yet, but long story short gunna be a week until I can switch to 12/12, unless I turn the entire veg into 12/12.

so what are my options for controlling the height on this thing, should I top her a few times right now so by the time I start 12/12, she would be rdy to go, or maybe just do a dbl layer scrog? I even thought about when I get the entire thing into the flower room, to pull off the scrog and add on a much bigger one! that would give me more room to tuck and control the growth!

what do ya think?

Hard to say since you have already started tucking. Personally, I just top since she litterally grows like a weed in every sense of the word. I dont think yield/tucking will be affected considering you have another 7 days for new growth. Think of what she looked like a week ago compared to now and thats just in veg. Once you flip....its on.

lower light intensity will slow her growth down . The screen will still be full enough to flip when your space is available again in a week. The lower intensity will help curb much overgrowth.I feel people are underestimating the stretch on GG. I forgot you were in sips, so she may not be as fast as soiless or hydro in growth
Also, in my earlier post, I didn't mean the overgrown screen to be a bad thing. It is better imo to overgrow the screen and prune back at flip what you don't want, as opposed to not filling the screen and waisting canopy space with empty holes in your net.
You won't "master" the scrog on your first run of the strain, it should be a learning experience for theclone of the next run. As stated previously, comoare your growth from a week ago until now and you can gauge pretty much where she'll be at in a week ie. hiw many tops she has put on,how much stem growth has occurred etc.

Do you think she has a pretty good root zone established? Another thing to consider when thinking how much growth she'll see in the upcoming week.
Adding a bigger screen might just be the easier/best option. That way, you aren't sacrificing growth by pruning back good growth for space while increasing your yeild.
Win Win!
