Hey guys, if you don't know who grandmaster level is he's a canadian grower/youtuber and creator of the death bubba kush. he posted a video today saying HLG is sending him a light to run against HPS in his room which will be flipping to flower in a few days. He doesn't specify but I assume they are going to be quantum boards. I know theres lots of side by side threads on here but video documentation is always good and I'm sure he'll do an excellent comparison so if you're interested make sure you sub up and follow along!

Don't let your plants dry out there LC.

My plants all drink .7 gal of water daily or 2.7L of water again DAILY.

Our plants are all 7' tall @ 30 days of flowering.

You plant spacing looks pretty tight.

Why do you trim off leaves? I see a lot of pro growers do that, it's counter productive 100%.
I trim the lower leaves and branches (mainly for air flow) at flip, then leave them go.

If a lot of pro growers do it, maybe it's not counterproductive.

I'm sorry but you clearly have no idea about defoliation how it works and the benefits it provides to your plants. You should read more and talk less in this situation.

Clearly I know nothing of what I say.... however a simple browsing in a horticultural text book will show you that:
1: leaves are a sink to store energy to be used later during flower production (google senescence - its a thing and science)
2: Leaves are a source of energy - the energy and nutrients stored during the 1st half of the leaves life will be used up later when needed to produce fruit (seeds) and flowers. Again look up senescence.

It's science, I didn't make this shit up. Had no idea that there would be so much poo poo made of it. I thought we are all grownups here??
Why do leaves turn yellow and fall off, not completely normal? OR I guess it's nothing and those fan leaves are just blocking the light. pfffft..

Here's another info bomb - look up translocation - its a thing and science.

So 3 reasons not to de-foil and it took me 5 minutes to type it. I've got more....

Prove de-foil works with science - I'm all ears. The science says other wise, just sayin.

Lets get back to lighting discussion... I actually thought we were past all that de-foil thing.
