Grandmaster Level - HLG Quantum Boards vs 1000w HPS side by side (youtube)

What planet are you people on to think that a light source that requires "notably different" condition is a good thing?
Led should be able to be mixed right in with HID lighting if you can get past the "efficiency" bs and realize the spectrum deficiency that is causing the problems.
Think SUN, we want to mimic that as closely as possible even beyond the "Par" range... :hump:
Spot on my man. I'm just about do r doibg comparisons. My official rule on the matter is to maximize everything, mix the 2. Cant beat a good burple additive, MH is the bomb, his swells like no other, white led provides full spectrum 4-7range.
They totally compensate for the others shortcomings & the plants love the mix.
Pretty sure I'll be going every other unless I'm testing for a specific reason or new light.
Hybridway is the best way in regards to this matter. In larger spaces that is.
When you yeild more bomb of larger buds in your space w/ less plant problems then n then only will you be operating efficiently.

I run both LEDs and HPS, both have there places in my gardens. And both do a good job at growing, and both have there pro's and con's.
As long as I fill my space up with enough plants I consistently yield over a gpw. Personal best was 1.6 gpw and that was under a HPS 600 but all my lights get me over the gpw mark.

I'm watching the new GML Show (no longer on YouTube. The new format is pretty cool. I gotta tell you, I'm really glad he got hooked up with HLG and I really like everything that's going on over there.

Unfortunately, I think that soon I will stop watching, and it's for the same reason I eventually get really bored with any and all Growtubers. I'm sure many here can relate to this.

It's the audience, the viewers, specifically the unending stream of rinky-dink, mickey mouse, kindergarten level questions everyone asks. I'm sorry but if you went to the trouble to get on the GML Show just to ask if you need runoff in coco or what driver you need for two quantum boards, like honestly just gtfo. Seriously. Before I ever laid a frickin hand on a seed or lights or anything, I read anything and everything I could lay my eyes on. For weeks. Months. Still today. I have never, ever, ever needed to ask questions like these and why? Because I READ! If I have a question I just Google it! Takes 5 minutes usually! Good fucking lord, I can't even imagine how some of these people manage to live. They probably have to be reminded to breathe.

I know you don't know me and I'm sorry to rant at you all like this but I can't stand it. Imagine you walk into a class at your local community College excited and ready to tackle the subject matter, but when you get there it's a bunch of toddlers asking about 2+2 and the alphabet. I understand new blood constantly rotating into the audience, I get it. I just wanna smack these morons across the head and tell them to stop wasting everyone's time with stuff they should have learned in the first week of getting into growing cannabis. Go READ, you lazy shit.

I'm sorry, I was a bit perturbed when I wrote that last night. I see Stephen has noticed my post. It's not my intention to offend anyone, I just.... Arrgg. I just wish some of my favorite people to watch would go a bit further than the beginner's basics. I know GML is there to document, not run a cannabis horticulture 104.

Ive noticed that gaming streamers have this bot named NightBot in their chat. Essentially this bot answers repeat questions like the ones you are bothered with. This would probably be a pretty usefull tool for GML I imagine. Other then that goodluck coping with all the adult toddlers
Yeah, I get it. He's on his own platform now, so no NightBot for him. You know what, it's all good. It's not even worth the frustration anymore. I think my mind wanders to these small things because if I'm not receiving new information I get bored easily. Maybe I've learned all I can from growtube and I'm just growing out of it.

Honestly if I watch it again it'll be to hear Stephen J talk about the Elite and the tents they are getting on the website. I bought some 324s from HLG so for the last 2 weeks or so I've been watching to see if he will talk about them, and he has. Those are the moments my ears perk up the most.

Tents? HLG branded?
I'm not sure about branding but Stephen has mentioned a 6'x4', with 16 square feet as a main area and 8 square feet sectioned off on one side as cultivation/veg/mom area. He said they're going to be really nice, really thick, and nice reflection on the insides. I think what I would do is remove the partition and use it as a 6x4 with 2 320XL fixtures. I have the Nichia based 320XL (ordered right before the v2 288s dropped-goddammit) and a 260XL that I can slap another 90 watt board on with the driver and turn it into another 320. So both of those should do pretty okie dokie in that space I think.

That setup may be a bit light on the wattage for a 6x4, but screw it, I'd run it.

Actually if you turned those fixtures up to 360 watts instead of 320 (the sink are rated for 320), you can do 30 watts/Sq.f, which as I say, is alright with me .

I THINK they are having them made. I feel like I'm getting out in front of HLG if I say much more. It's just what I've heard said, it may change; don't hold them to what I've said.

I also have a 3x4 with a veg area, and yeah it isn't a Jardin but it looks very similar to what they make. It's also a pile of shit with the light leaks and I have it back in the box at the moment.

I'm excited to see what HLG delivers, I've done business with them 3 separate times and I've always felt like my purchases were worth every penny. I'm betting I won't be disappointed with the tents.
