yeah that's really weird how some plants can look so good but lack so much. Not from a growing point of course, but I've smoked weed that looked truly beautiful, with sweet dank smells, that didn't even get me high! But what you say about the Lemon Skunk, I hope doesn't happen with my White Rhino. It's looks like I'm gonna have 2x as much Northern Lights, and even though I haven't smoked either yet, the White Rhino just seems really dank and I know i'll smoke it up faster lol

lol i know huh! I might have to stake a few of them up soon, some of the Northern Lights are toppling over!
Look at my Blue Mystic for example - it yields awsome, it looks and smell amazing, its covered in trichomes but the high lasts only a hour or so and the ceiling is really low while the tollerance buildup is real quick.

Hey sneekpunk, I was thinking that you might have too much bud for one person to chop and trim when it comes time to harvest. I think it would be best if you invited us over to help you, haha. It would be rude to just sit here and watch you do all that work by yourself, lol.

chopping and trimming is nothing. its not something that requiers all that man power.
however, it really would be rude to let him do all the really hard work of blazing all of thoes buds! Thats the thing we should help him with!

hello hello. so i chopped 1 Northern Light last night. It was the LST one. I cut it cause I'm leaving my home for a week on monday and i need to show my brother how to dry. I really don't want to cut the others before they're ready but i might not have a choice. Quite frankly I'm a little tired of these plants as well, i want to start some new ones. I just thought for sure they'd all be harvested and dry by now but it's almost 12 weeks and they're still covered in white hairs!
The trichs on the NL i cut were mostly cloudy with a few ambers popping up. I think the high will still be ok. Most of the others plants trichs are mostly clear and there's no way they'll change much by monday.
oh well it was still really exciting trimming just the one plant! i can't wait to do the whole batch. it took me and my buddy nearly 2 hours to finish lol, isn't that crazy? The rest will take all day.
any questions welcome, i don't really know what else to say. I REALLY REALLY don't want to pull the plants before they're completely mature but i certainly don't want to leave them and come back to dead plants. i'll update before i go fo sho

and here's is the one plant Northern Lights harvest. Not too much but i'd be happy with anything! There was a lot of tiny popcorn that I put in a paper bag, i'm gonna use it for cooking. I saved the trim and I'll just hold on to it till the rest is ready before i make hash. I got em' hangin as i type!

Don't forget to get the weight.
You could use another 2 weeks with your crops. I know its odd but if they pack weight you should be just fine with the waiting
As your plants growing behind schedual you should really look for bananas popping. If you see a banana - pluck it. If you see more than a few - chop the plant.
Your trimming looks great. When you trim don't touch the buds too much so you won't knock off too many trichomes. And use unpowdered latex gloves.
After you get some resin buildup on the gloves put them in the freezer. When your done trimming and jarring pull the gloves and strech the finger parts. What drops is a very pure finger hash - my favorite hash.

you know, i'm thinking about chopping a few more right before i go and leave a couple in the closet till i get back. I'm just worried cause it's getting hotter everyday here, and i don't know if my brother can manage the temps (he's a little forgetful) and if he forgets the close the door a couple times or something, they could get really stressed. But yeah that said i might leave some in there maybe even as an experiment or something.Don't forget to get the weight.

Thanks for the tips on the hermies, i'll definitely be inspecting them everyday. And I forgot to use gloves on the trimming, but i got a little piece of scissor hash just from the little that we did haha. I'll throw gloves on during the bigger trim party.
I'll post the dry weight of the buds hopefully before i go, if not right when i get back (i can't wait to come home to some nice curred buds!)
When they finish swelling they don't need much light, you could place it higher so heat is less of an issue.

Its just that it doesn't make sense to me that your Northern Light have so many living pistils at this age. It will take thoes about 4 weeks to ripen if I have to guess.

wow man.. i cant believe they've been flowering that long!! thats fuckin crazy! i thought for sure they'd be done by now!
if i was you.. i would cut them not too.. rather cut'em too early.. and risk losing all your hard work... =/ thats just my opinion.. maybe leave one in there just for an experiment lik eu said.. but they looks really good. even tho theyre still pushin out sum white hairs. i think they would be fine to smoke now.

2the plants could OVERr ripen.. and once they get to a certain point.. they start losing THC.. and say it reaches that point a few days after he leaves.. then by the time he gets back.. they will have already lost alotta potency. =/

yeah that sounds good, i was thinking if i left any, i'd raise the light considerably. I've never heard of secondary-flowering, but that sounds highly likely to me now that you mention it. Cause some of them look pretty swelled. And i checked the trichs on a couple last night, they were looking actually pretty cloudy with some ambers even. The plants I looked at still had white pistils too so i think you're right. I tried to fix all the light leaks but i might have done got to it too late. Oh well it's all fixed now so if i have the same problem next grow we'll know it wasn't the lights.
yeah man it's insane! but i think it might be secondary flowering like mcfonz said so it is my fault. but haha yeah i agree i certainly don't want to post when i get home saying " yeah they all died, my room smells like rotting buds" haha. I think I'm gonna do a last trich check and chop the ones that look most ready. There's 1 for sure i know still has clear trichs so i'll leave that along with maybe one other and just raise the light and hope for the best.
And thanks man, yeah the Northern Lights looks pretty good but i haven't sampled her yet. I'm just waiting till she's done drying which will be this sunday or monday. But i'll let you know how it is as well as how it is after sitting in the jar for a week (can't wait!).
For my next grow I'm doing Sensi Seeds Shiva Skunk, which will be nice cause i've read that she finishes up really quick (unless those go 12 weeks too lol) Thanks a lot for staying around

Looks great! Im subscribing. Realy interested to see what kind of yield you get as my grow is very similar.
It take 3-4 weeks until THC starts to degrade. Not a few days.
Could you get some macro shots of the buds?
And when you inspect the buds for trichomes color look at the parts benith the white pistils, where the brown ones are.

I guess I should have said "its takes 3-4 weeks until the weed starts to lose potency". Ripe indicas, I believe, should have quite a bit of amber trichomes, which are "over peek THC level" trichomes.
If you want a head high, like the author of post 7 likes, why the crap would you grow indicas?

hello everybody! 1st off let me apologize for being late, i could give excuses excuses but i'll just skip that and get to the maryjane.
So i chopped all the plants before i left, the day before i left actually(june 6). I was looking at the trichs on the first couple and they seemed pretty milky but still more on the clear side than the amber side. Truthfully i stopped checking trichs, but having smoked them all, i'd say none of them were at their peak, but the NL were a little more ready.
Harvest took all day with 4 helping hands, but it was lots of fun! I made hash with the trim but was pretty disappointed with the result. I used a 120 mesh screen and sifted it but i didn't get too much during the light runs, maybe a couple grams. I did a harder sifting but the hash was nasty and unsmokable. The first batch was nice though.
The buds dried way too fast and are a little harsh. They still cure and get better everyday though. I guess dry buds are better than moldy buds, which is the only thing i was afraid of while being away.
I'll do some smoke reports and post some dry bud pics with some weights this weekend. The LST Northern Lights was 38 grams dried so the others should be in that ballpark. If you want to know anything else just ask. I'll have more info with the dry pics.
