So here we are today, 2 weeks in to flower. I got a filter for the HPS. Well, they're glasses, but they work well for the camera too. I also got a PPM meter. The solution I was fertilizing them with came to 380PPM. The base of the water is 118ppm. That's at 1/2 teaspoon gallon for DynaGrow. I know the PPM in hydroponics is much higher. What about soil? Hmmm...

looks awesome, man! i love the lollipop haha. :weed:
Thanks bud. Going to start slowly defoliating the big fan leaves in a week or two. Maybe. Obviously, this strain hermed on me once already, but I did stress it out, including defoliating it. So I'm on the fence about whether to do it again. It definitely seems to work. I don't know if the added risk of herms is worth it though. Thoughts?

the Legend hermed on me where i didnt do a very good job removing the tiny nodes way down on the bottom of the plant. I personally dont think topping or defoliating will cause the plant to herm.. i constantly remove fan leaves just about every day and do my best to make the bottom 30% of the plant bare before the 3rd week of flower. after the stretch is over i don't remove anything until it is time to harvest.

I do think a really dense bushy plant that is building up heat and humidity would definitely cause problems.
or a mass defoliation all at once will definitely make the plant think it about to die/put it in shock and in turn cause it to herm.

I am thinking the same thing. I'll remove 1-2 fan leaves per plant / per day for the next week. I think the key is doing it over time. Oh, finally got a dehumidifier. I'm ltting the refrigerant settle beore I turn it on but here she is: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frigidaire-50-Pint-3-Speed-Dehumidifier/1000218527 Now I can really dial the environment in. And I hope it helps the rest of the house. It's f'in sticky in here right now.

SO, I have started what I call "mico watering" or "microfeeding" I can't seem to find anything on it, but the plants seem to love it, and it has cut my water usage drastically. So basically, what I have been doing, is giving 3 full turkey basters of water, which equals to about 4.5 ounces, daily. For all the plants, this equals out to be half the water I was using before. So, I went from 10 gallons every 4 days to 5.3 gallons every 4 days. The plants don't droop. The leaves lay down slighty the next day and I do it again. Some of the bigger plants I give 4-5 to. Has anyone else heard of this technique, and if so, do you know what it's called, and where I can find more info on it? Thanks!

Here we are coming up at 3 weeks flowering, tomorrow. Gave each plant a light trim of the larger fan leaves today (3-4 per plant) and of course watered them. They each got 4 turkey basters (lol) today. I'm going to keep using the turkey baster, until these girls get to the point where they want full saturation, which is probably coming up pretty soon. Plants look like they want a little more N. I'll give it to them tomorrow. I didn't top or train these plants, unless you count lolipopping. One plant still has over 20 bud sites on it. If each only had 10, that'd be 380 bud sites . Wowzers. Hope everyone has a great day / night.

Edit: This is gonna be fun to trim :/ Wait, I'm counting my chickens before they hatch. bad form. This could possibly be a pain in the asssss.

One of the sativa phenos I'm guessing, going by the stretch. There are about 5-6 of them. Beautiful plants. I wish all of them were like her. This was taken while I was finishing feeding them the nute mix of 500PM. I didn't know it was that low until I got my PPM meter. Now @ 800:

Just so everyone knows, please feel free to post here, just don't post pics of your garden unless it's relevant to the conversation. You guys have been incredibly quiet!

Well, bad news. I was checking for hermies tonight, the first 3 I checked I had to rip. Then a 4th, and a 5th...so I'm not going to even bother checking the rest. I was afraid this was happen. I knew it was a possibility. But I was hoping it was environmental stress to cause their mom to herm. It will still smoke...I won't be spending anywhere near the time I have on them now though. They will get watered and fed and that's it...would it be irresponsible to keep growing them? I'm not going to start over at this point...I'll give the tent, room, and equipment a good clean. Next time, I'll have new, proven genetics, 5 plants, 7 gallon containers.

there are people that water so little they feed everyday with a dripper system like you'd see in a garden outside except it looks like a ring around the base of the plant. some have a small amount of fertz in it all throughout the grow until the final weeks. I don't think i've found any articles on this but i have definitely read it in grow journals they way i found this post... lol

Nope! Not unless it's a particularly epic grow. Not sure why this has declined. Only thing that's changed is legality in some places. But overall. More growers. Strange.
which!! btw i don't get notifications from ANY of the growers i "watch"... including this one. and i can only remember exactly where to go because i've been following you for what seems to be close to a year... lol
The others i've chose to watch i can't remember because i was just scrolling through and it caught my interest. i didnt take the time to remember the headline or the OP's name. AND THEN... by the time i look for it in my recent activity. its long gone. lol... if lots of people are experiencing this, it could very well be why people aren't coming back.. i know it happened with my and you during my last journal as well. you even mentioned it.

this is super frustrating. i personally would finish it out... its not going to be bad smoke, either.. it will maybe just have a bunch of seeds.. and it beats the hell out of running out and having to wait another 4 months or so..
you can just give those seeds away this time.. or eat them! they are considered a "super food" lol... and yeah.. i trimmed 6 plants alone last time... i couldnt imagine this... i dont care how "small" they are..

Hey @QuikWay , what's up my man. Yeah, I think you're right, dude. I never got a notification on watched threads so I stopped watching them. I'd post in there and hope to get a notification that someone else posted in the thread. This works part of the time. I guess I will bring it up to one of the mods later in the Site Help thread, but I can't guarantee that will actually deliver any results, lol.

Regarding the dripper systems, yeah, automatic irrigation, I've read a lot on that. It seems expensive though. And it's more complicated than just turning on the dripper every day for 10 mins. Some pots don't need water while others do. Some plants want more water, etc. I feel like this would only work well with clones, for uniformity. Additionally, I'm not positive, but I suspect when I was mixing my soil and perlite, some containers got 15% perlite, while others got more. It's not something I was thinking about while mixing, but something I have thought abut regarding each pots different needs later on (Gotta learn somehow, lol).

It's not that frustrating, man! I grew up on seeded bud, and this will be a lot more high quality than that. As you know, each grow builds on the last. So, I'm super stoked to have the opportunity to experiment with my plants (for example, I just flushed 3 of them, and gonna watch their progress) cause I won't be too sad if I kill a few. I already killed 10, trimmed them, they're still drying in a separate area, but it smokes. Got me toasted last night.

Next grow will be 5 x I'm thinking Bubblegum, back to the 7 gallon containers I had before. I can't wait to only have 5 plants to water and take care of, lol. They're gonna be huge though, cause they're getting a long veg :) Looking forward to it! Oh, one more thing. This strain didn't give me much in the way of frost with my generic HPS. I was gonna take my hortilux out but I noticed these plants are getting sugary. I attribute that to the better light...
