Yes Kangaroots is good to use in the tea and contains a decent number of microbes, but also a bit of organics so be careful adding it to the res directly.

hey there heisenberg. got a few rookie questions for you. i kind of feel bad for asking them but here goes.

Is clear slime always an issue?
i had some trouble with root rot last grow so this time around i started using some h&g roots excelurator and some cobra bennies. i add the bennies straight into my res with the rest of my nutrients. temps are fine plenty of air but i have a clear slime on my roots. could this possibly just be the bennies doing there thing or is this definitely going to cause me problems in the near future?

Hey Heisenburg,
Trying to fix my roots with the bene tea. It starts to look better and then it gets brown again. Any suggestions. I am only running tea and 0-10-10 bloom.

Cheers,
Mo

i have been growing in dwc for 13 yrs now.got the slime and im brewing tea now.i support the plant from above the res so no medium is used.will the bennies colonize on the roots or do i absolutly need a medium.not looking forward to changing my setup.this is a great thread.feeling optomistic about the tea.nothing else has worked and i have lost alot of plants already

the tea seems to have worked on my roots. i got to them early and none of my roots had browned off yet, i only had clear snot on my roots but it didnt seem to have done any damage yet. i simply sprayed the roots with a strong h2o2 solution and removed the slime then ran a strong h2o2 solution in my res for a few hrs. changed the res and ran tea for a day and now im back on nutes. i do have some brown crud on my roots but its not slimey and snotty like before and the root zone seems to have doubled in size with loads of new shoots. i will be watching it closely but so far im pretty happy thanks heisenberg.

oh and it may be worth mentioning that i had trouble getting most of the ingrediants in aus where i am from so for any aussies stumbling through this thread i used

gogo juice and crop cobra bennies in the water and replaced ewc with green bio all this was available at bunnings so no excuses. worked a treat nice big heslthy white foam on the top like you would see on dishwater nearly.
the smell of my tea reminded me of bushwalking through heavy rainforest. that fresh smell of moss and fungi and moist undergrowth.

hi people can anyone point me to products i can buy in the uk to make tea I allready have bio bizz worm hummus and canna aktrivator(trichoderma) aand viresco for hydroponics.
