Glad you found the materials you need. The only substitute for an air-pump is a waterfall. Any sort of pump which can bring the water out of the bucket and let it splash back in. Stirring will do next to nothing because the microbes are placing a large demand on oxygen.
Thanks for the precious info. Am just waiting for delivery of all + ait bubbler! I am not running DWC, I was running autopot but have now disconnected the system after the phytium and slime problem .... am in coco/perlite .... do I just handwater the magic solution? How often do I repeat? Or it would be better to soak the pots in bubbling solution for a few hours eheheh .......

I got rootgrow off ebay for the myco fungi, essence by plant magic at a hydro store for the bacillus + trichoderma and EWC I already had ..... you must try to source some EWC somewhere on the net perhaps? it's the important ingredient according to the master of thiis thread!

this was probably asked in this thread somewhere and i did skim through it but didn't see it.

is the tea safe to use in a bubble cloner? i would think it would be, but i am just checking.

thanks

edit: i found my answer. it's fine to use

Indeed, but it's best to add some sort of housing to your clone water, as the microbes normally colonize the roots. They need a place to live until roots form, or else they will be limited in function.

My solution was to switch to a shallow water cloner and incorporate hydroton, as described ~page 69.

i feel dumb for laughing when you wrote page 69 haha but anyway, i soak all my peat pellets in diluted compost tea, i noticed some of the clones rooted a lot faster than the ones i didnt do it to so it helps for sure.

The effects of PH adjuster on microbes in a DWC is negligible. Sorry I didn't see your question until now.

Hello, Very informative thread, thank you.

I've got a couple of questions.
At my local hydro store, they have ZHO - Root Inculant. is that the "ZHO powder" you are talking about?
And, Do the type of nutes you are using matter when using these benes? I'm using BC pro blend. on the back it does say it's a mixture of synthetic and organic.

Heisenberg---I know you said not feed the bennies in the res,but what about half strength bud candy,I never added it back to the res after I cured the slime, any thoughts?I m going to use it this time around, but I dont have any slime ,and will be using the tea from the start,Ive been getting slime in a ebb and flow with a chiller, but havent had any issues with the tea so far

If you have a well established beneficial colony and the slime is long gone, your res can probably tolerate a little organic material, but not much. Slime is a natural result of organics breaking down in a DWC. If you do decide to do it, don't do it for the benefit of the bennies. They can simply be replaced, and no matter how well you feed them, they will become less and less diverse as time goes on. Any organic stuff you want to add for the plant's benefit can be added to the tea and broken down before you put it in the res. So there really is no need to add organics to the res.
