I went to my local hydro shop and i was told to use a product called azomite in my tea as well as soil pots. i bought some because one of the employees there couldnt stop expressing how great this stuff is... i was wondering if this would be okay to use in my tea and what are the benefits it has if there are any... any info would be greatly appreciated...

The clerk probably thought you were making a tea for the more traditional reasons, or else he does not know the difference. Azomite provides trace minerals and micro-nutrients, which do not help our tea's microlife at all, and gives our tea the potential to scramble our regular PPM schedule. It is an organic product so it also has the potential to make slime worse, although I can not say for sure since I have not heard of someone using it. In any case, if you have a thorough nute schedule to begin with, you do not need the azomite, I personally would not use it, or ever see a reason to recommend it, in DWC.

The soil pots may be okay, it's hard to say without a brand name.

Been useing a clear plastic storage container flipped over, ground coconut (Jifypot type)expandables, water left out overnight and a warming mat.Good roots in 5to 7 days. I think controling you acidity is also an important factor. When you have highly acidic water as Ive had in diffrent locations, clones dont take off as fast. When this is the case I add a drop of un-sulfured molassas to my clone water. and they root in 7-10 days useing roottone only. A clean sterile knife is also important. Dirt and filth on the cut area will create a non viable clone.

Thank Heisenberg for all the good info. You mention that you use dutch master gold, add 27 and snow storm. How do I use the snow storm? Do I add my res or in my tea?

Been using this and it seems great never had the slime but now im confident i never will. just a question I have a scarid fly problem and this stuff seems to keep them in check but i still get a few flying around. I put mosquito dunks http://www.planetnatural.com/site/mosquito-dunks.html in res and spary with pyrethrum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrethrum (this also has chilli and garlic) to help with my pest problems (also have the yellow sticky tape. Would any of these these thing kill the bennies?

I have found you're better off asking the bum on the corner of your local ghetto for growing questions then ANYONE that works at a "hydro" store. These "stoners" for the most part are just that, stoners that use to work at convience stores now working behind the counter selling nutrients. I like asking them questions I know answers too to get some laughs every time I go...

Just to back up my point I was in my local shop yesterday picking up another gallon of Aquashield and just threw out the question "Hey should I run H2O2 with this Aquashield".. and not suprisingly the guy focused in on me and said "Hell ya bra.. use H2o2 in all hyrdo it will get your roots white as rice. I run H2o2 Aquashield and a home brew tea.. just add like 10ml per gallon of H2o2." This was "after" he told me the other guy that works there was arrested yesterday for 2lbs in his car with guns, but should be back to work tomorrow. HAHAHA

Heisinberg you're the man! Thanks for all your help & priceless knowledge brother. I've read every page of your thread & have quite a dilemma I was hoping you could give me advice on. I was running single bubble buckets w/ bennes for veg & transplanted into UC 3 weeks ago with the intention of giving them a week of veg in their new homes before the flip. they were drinking like crazy & I was topping off about 20 gallons a day for the first couple days. I made the mistake of not adding back bennes w/ all the add back I was giving & then adding in gh ph down directly into the epicenter...:sigh. When we had a really hot week & the water temps got into the 80s I added some superthrive into the tank like a noob (never had problems before) & the brown ugliness showed its nasty head. I had the brown mushy roots n lost all my feeder roots. I immediately gave them tea but it wasnt strained well adding to organic material in the res - also I think the bennes were outnumbered. I drained the system the next day & shop-vacked the inside of the buckets & all the dead roots n gunk on the bottom & sprayed down the roots with water to take off the brown gunk & pieces of ancient forest- I made the mistake of not sterilizing with h202 at this point. I refilled & kept feeding teas daily at 1cup per gallon (system is approx 165 gallions so Ive been adding 10gal of tea to the epi) for the first few days & then every other day & new roots started popping out of the netpots- I have removed most mushy old roots that I saw werent getting better & just came off w/ a slight tug. Almost 2 weeks have passed & Plants are stunted & not growing or drinking water but roots seem to be improving & throwing new shoots. PPms are 4-500 ppms- should I be running half of this? For the most part ph isnt swinging but some (very few) ppms are being consumed. I want to put them into flower but am scared they are not even drinking at all & this would cause them extra stress & I'ld lose them completely or not get any yield at all cuz they cant eat. My plan so far is to drain & clean out the system again & vac up all the dead roots & feeders floating around & all the gunk on the bottom of the buckets before I flip them. Do you recommend sterilizing w/ h202 during this clean & then reinnoculate? Or should I not even worry about the clean up or the dead root pieces floating around b/c the bennes will consume them? If you recommend sterilization; do yoiu advise me to run the whole system w/ the plants in it w/ some h202 or bleach during this cleaning & do another fill & flush after or just scrub & spray? What should I do? I have 20 gallons of a super frothy tea that has been brewing for 24 hrs _ (I made it with a 3 big capfulls of aquashiled, 20 tspns of oregonism xl myco & 10 handfulls of AF & 10 of EWC). My plan so far is to drain, vac up gunk, spray down roots with tea mixed at 1 cup/gal - refill - add tea to sytem @ 1 cup/gallon-maybe 3-400 ppms of flower food & put them into 36 hrs of darkness for the flip. But as you can imagine I dont want to jump the gun if its not advisable to do so - Please let me know what you recommend - it would be greatly appreciated more than words can say - thanks again for all your help & knowledge!

after making a bigger batch of tea with a much larger airpump than i was using before i noticed it has smells better and my res looks alot cleaner after 3 days of using it. Also started using a bigger airpump for my res. i'm not shure if im going to be able to save this batch of plants yet, they seem to be just hanging in there. i may end up just starting over again but not till i figure out what i'm doing wrong with my set up (or they die). thank you again for your help with the tea recipie.

First off h2,f1 wet betty have been added to the new ph perfect base line! The old three part base line doesnt have these in it!
there in sups seperate but still under there feeding chart. Using the old three part will eliminate the slime just leave out the f1
h2 and wet betty and all there bennys. Use only these and you will kill it!
base three part (non ph perfect)
B52
Big bud
bud ignighter
rhino skin
overdrive
Final phase
bud factor x works to but if your having issue with slime dont use it.

These are slime safe. You can call bs all you want but ask around and you will find im not spreading bs!
i would be happy to assist you with your issue anytime just hit me up.
I eventually ended up just doing as you said..... Dropped everything except for the AN 3-part with added cal-mag supplement and TEA! All is well now, so now to grow some good root structure and flip ASAP! I am more than a month behind now, which sucks big time. Going to run a 2 plant mini undercurrent system and add each additive every couple of days to see which is causing the issue eventually when I have enough time to monitor it all properly.

Now that I have the beneficials going good in this current grow, I will just keep it simple unless something pops out.

I can honestly say that the TEA works wonders! ;)

checked on my plants today and saw all of them have started to grow new roots. the root system had been almost completely destroyed while i was brewing a new larger batch of tea so i wasnt expecting them to recover. the plants still look pretty rough but i thing it looks like they are going to fully recover.

I have been using tea for some time in my Aero
system, and am wondering if gnatrol (bti) would be
compatible with the other bennies and would they
survive/proliferate in the brew. I seem to always battle
gnats at some point and gnatrol always decimate
them, I try to use it preventatively, but it bbecomes
expensive and was hoping to stretch in the tea.

The temps are about room temp......I'd say between 72-75 deg. And yes Dawg, my tea does look like that. This is my first run with the tea so... not quite sure what to expect. I have an airstone in there and then I fed an airline straight into the sock w/ the ancient forest.
