$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Damnit all I'm in the wrong biz.

Air stones and hose
Water from the tap, degassed.
GH Veg
GH Bloom
PH down
Hygrozyme if needed.

That's all that ever goes into my coolers.
It's been my opinion for years you guys spend way too much on FERTILIZERS. And at too high a ppm,
that has got to affect the flavor and high.

but HEY, thats my opinion

I never feed over 650 so there.

all is good,,,,,,,

Damn dude, I'm up around 2.0 - 2.2 EC by the time I switch to flowering. I was told to keep feeding them until they show an adverse reaction. At 650ppm I would save a fortune. Do you have a grow journal?

EDIT: My stuff smokes great, gets you high and tastes good. I put that down to a 10 day flush before harvest though. If its picked fresh (un-flushed) it tastes like shit, won't burn properly and gives me a headache.

You, RustyC are in for a treat. I start to lay down girls under screens this week. I just have a few Danish Hydro Engineering tricks to complete.

Pandora's Stash puts down Old Hippies in 2 hits. I've seen the "Hardcore Hitters" get the Hippie-Hippie Shakes after 1! And I do not FLUSH. No need. There is nothing to flush. It's a clean burning, lemony aftertaste you don't want to exhale. No fireworks in the bowl and a nice grey ash.

Holy shit Integra that is some sexy bud porn.

Mine isn't xxx worthy yet, but it still counts as soft-core :P

Growing another BB from a clone.
Got it all setup in my DR-150 grow tent.
I also have a recirculating DWC setup now which makes it so easy a stoner can do it. (I hope I don't start another Geico commercial).

Here is my DWC set up with my two mother plants. White Widow and Blackberry.

I have a aeroponic bucket cloner that roots cuttings in about a week, very fast IMO and I am pleased with the results. DWC is an awesome method of growing. I tried soil for my first grow but after that it's been DWC ever since. I haven't had regrets for abandoning soil. The end result tastes great and is potent. AK-48 was my last grow, smooth smoke and a creeping high. Here are some pics.

I included some pics from my last harvest and of my current grow. Enjoy. You can check out my current grow by following the link below next to my sig.

Peace and positive energy to you all.

Just transfered my hempy cups to a DWC 5 gal bucket. Got a little trouble with excess salt buildup right now but they are flushing out and gonna be nice. Here's some pics. Like i said, she is just starting out. here's some pics.I'd love to join the DWC club and get input throughout the whole grow. I'll be starting a journal later this week. so, if i bring the party favors can i play in your clubhouse?

newb here, first post. was curious of a few things that probably got naswered in these 7 hundred something pages but was hoping someone could save me months of my life haa. How big can dwc grow in 5 gals and how tall would you get them in veg before switching to grow them as big as easily possible.using 5 gal buckets with 10 in net pots and loose rockwool because of transplant how could i support these babies theres no room on the bucket lid for anything and the loose rockwool is making them kinda tipsy. Also i'm using pure blend pro and have liquid karma but was wondering if anyone had any experience. also got hygrozyme but heard you need RO water to make a difference is that true? And finally and most importantly what ppm max should i run. Alot of questions i know any help would be appreciatred. thanks

Helloo!!

I am a convert from soil and have just set up an 8 pot system. I was just about to go live and transplant my lovely clones ( the one's with the lush roots ;) in but I have made a schoolboy error!!

My 1st res of nutrient solution was set up and ph'd and I let it drip in, it filled all half way so I left it over night to see if there were any slow leeks etc. Anyway all was gd so I filled up the res with another solution but I forgot to ph it. I remembered when it was half empty and solved the problem with ph up in the res. But the buckets had all become 'contaminated' so I gave them all a small dose of ph up also, problem is that most of the solution in the buckets had already been ph adjusted and so now my ph tester has just turned PURPLE!

I just put loads of nutrients in and I really don't want to waste any of it, that shizz is expensive. So tthe question is, can I adjust using ph down and is it safe to do this from purple..??

Anyone pls..

Thanks.

First off I have a couple of questions for you, in order to give you a better answer to your question.

1. What are you using for pH up and down?
2. Purple sounds like its on the higher side of the pH scale, what are you using to test the res with? Is it the dip sticks? or the pH tester solution?

I found a great read on pH and how it effects your nutrients in a hydroponic environment. I read it and it helped me and my plants.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

Peace and positive energy to you.

Hi Nailz & thx for the reply :joint:

I am using Growth Technology ph up and down and I was using a ph testing kit although I went yesterday and got a budget PH pen which works much better than I thought due to me getting realitime readings, perfect! (I had to do 9 pots seperately u see..)

Tbh I couldn't get any feedback quick enough so I just went for it and ph'd it downwards whilst using the pen, I eventually got everything to 6.0 and just 12 hrs ago I put my clones in, today they all look perfect still and one has even managed to get its roots through the large net pot already, which makes me think that DWC is the absolute shizz!

Anyway, all seems well but I will go and read that doc you suggest because I am parnoid that the hi ph has messed with the nutes!!

Thanks again.

Peace. :weed:

hey everyone, so i am really new to DWC. this is actually my first grow with it and i am using a 3 gallon tub and A.N. Nutrients. i am alittle concerned because i on check my PH whenever i change the res. The strain is Sensi Star from Paradise seed. i am currently growing in a 2 ft x 2 ft x 5.6 ft room using a 400w system. Can anyone give me advise or some imput or even just tell me how i am doing because growing and not telling anyone about it sucks because i can share my pride and joy to anyone. thanks

Hi BB57 et al.,

I'm embarking on my first DWC and I'm hoping you can help me out of the first bind I've gotten myself into. First problem is i got anxious and started germinating in cotton on top of my router for heat!:hump:without having all of the materials that I need. I figured I'd just order them along the way. Not knowing that i had a lot of (time consuming) reading to do. My 1YO Shining Silver Haze seed jumped up so fast and I only had soil to start the grow. The problem now is that i want to transfer them in to my Stage 1 DWC which is the 14 Liter gray container in the pictures. Today they are in the coco pots and soil. Tonight I'll prepare the Stage 1 and transfer the babies to pots with Hydroton rocks.
Lighting is so far an issue as you can see. Even though I posses a 400W HiD. (In the pics). I'm trying to hold off on using it unless I really have to. I have ordered a 90X Illuminator. :joint:

So my first question is: SINCE the root system is not long enough to touch the bottom of the pots will my DWC keep the stones wet enough to keep the roots nourished enough until they seek out the nutrition source? I've not seen any threads on getting seedlings started in pots with LECA rocks....

Second question: The Nutes from my bio grow are still there. Are they any good. My first and last grow was around '08.

11 days in, I'm getting it together...

Thanks RIU

What's up Pure !?

You rocks will stay moist as long as your bubbles are popping and misting close enough to get the bottom of the pots wet.
An inch or 2 between the top of the water and the bottom of your pots.
In the beginning, and until about 7 - 10 days AFTER the seeds sprout, I keep the pots submerged about an 1/2 inch to 1 inch IN the water/solution. They won't suffer or drown with adequate bubbles/air.

Second, get new nutes. Don't use those old ones.
Definitely get hydro nutes.
A lot of ppl use Pure Blend Pro, and reading the back labels it clearly says for soil or hydro soilless grows.
Soilless Hydro is things like Pro-Mix, Sunshine #4, Coco, Hydroton, Dyna-Roc, Rockwool, etc.
But I'd stay away from it all, except Hydroton and Dyna-Roc. The rest causes too much PH fluctuation IMHO. And no Pro-Mix or SunShine #4 in DWC obviously.
I have PBP for my soilless grows, but for my DWC I am using GH Micro and Bloom with PBP Cal/Mag and NOTHING more.

Check out my "12/12 from seed" grow. I started my first DWC this month too.
At DAY 11 and 29 today . Two diff strains going right now.

Okay, I started my first DWC mother plant. I've been seeing great results from you guys and I just wanted to try it. I've been growing outa dirt since 2006. I'm just a small time med grower and grow only for myself so yields ain't that important to me just some good reliable smoke.

I bought the bucket and net pot at the hydro store with an airpump/stone for about $22. Back pain issues prevent me from building too much on my own. I had some hydro clay before so I didn't have to buy that. I cracked a Super Lemon Haze bean about a month ago in foam thingys (don't know what the fuck you kids call um). I've got it under T-5's for now (kinda hot) and the damn water is running (78F). I use 35% diluted H202 to help with the oxygen issue at those high temps and just using Dynagrow nutes at around 750ppm. Mixing the grow and flower nutes at 50/50 to reduce the extra N in the dirt nutes. I'll be switching to 400W in a couple of weeks then 600W HPS for flower but first I need clones off the mother plant then she'll go into flower. It's a small set up but I just wanted to try DWC once and see if I can get into it. Please add any suggestions if you see me going down the wrong path and don't laugh too loud. My Ph runs about 5.5-6.0. I'll post pix as soon as I can reduce the pixels but it's pretty basic. Thanks!

there is a thread just for DWC.... this is amazing..... so many hours are going to be lost as i check out all the grows but yea anyways first time im growing hydro personally i have helped maintain other grows done in hydro. i have never done or seen in person what can be done with DWC. i know all the ins and outs of flood and drain and know what i can pull off of that but DWC is all new territory for me. please stop by my grow journal and let me know how im doing. link is in my sig.

Hey Moldy, try a 20oz or 32oz frozen water bottle in your bucket every 12hrs to help with those temps.
Trick is to fill the bottles up roughly 75% with water before freezing. The water will expand and contract as it's thawed and frozen.

You guys have helped me out a lot, thanks! Now I am on my first DWC grow (which happens to be my first grow ever!)

Here's some progress pics more in journal sig. I'd love to join the club!
