Hello there. I've just switched for flowering and i was wondering if i should go full power or maybe a bit higher than 130w. space is 5.5sq feet. I'd like to suppress strech cause they got a bit taller than optimal. 3qb288 on hlg240.

I like to have my lights 18-24in, if you run them closer at higher wattage watch to light burn. What type of strain are you running ? Some have more legs than others and I think we need to factor that along with individual grow space. You and I have similar sq foot and I to don't have the celling height in my tent. If someone asked me to scrog a sativa heavy strain I don't think I would be able to or at least not yield anything worth the time.

Just an FYI, you can make you own STS ( that's all this is ) by the GALLONS for the same or less money.

Well , the Tiresas Mist treatment has really worked out. It's only been Day 7 today - and my two treated branches are showing LADYNUTS .......

I don't know how so many people run out of this product when treating ... I still use the styrofoam collar and one simple spray , that's it.

Anyways - I will spray one time tomorrow and let them grow out.

Now I have a number of plants that are growing that I can choose from :

Candy Dream
Blue Dream Auto
GSG

The Blue Auto is my primary target , but may try some hybrids with those indica.

I'll be wrapping up a grow in the next couple weeks. My previous lighting setup consisted of a 600W HPS inside a 4'x4' space. This time around I switched to a QB288 Kit paired with a cheap Chinese LED with a 134 watt output. Between the two lights I was pulling 421 watts from the wall. That was my setup for most of veg and the first couple weeks of flower.

With just one QB288 kit + the 134W Chinese LED the flowers are denser than anything I've grown with the 600W HPS. Literally rocks.

Eventually I was able to procure a second QB288 Kit to replace the Chinese LED. I can confidently say that two QB288 kits (four boards on two heat sinks) has to be one of the best setups someone can put in a 4'x4' space.

Thank you HLG team, you guys/gals have done a great service for many growers. I'm honest when I say I was a bit skeptical at first, but now I'm 100% convinced I made the right decision.

Where were you at yesterday when i burned mine at 200 watts at 24 inches? Lol

I dropped it to 140 lastnight, then 125 this morning.

Formula for STS ( Silver Thiosulphate )

Preparation of STS:


First, a stock solution is made. It consists of two parts (A and B) that are initially mixed separately, then blended together. Part A is ALWAYS mixed into part B while stirring rapidly. Use distilled water; tap water may cause precipitates to form.

Wear gloves while mixing and using these chemicals, and mix and use in a properly ventilated area. A mask will prevent the breathing of any dust, which is caustic. STS is colorless and odorless, and poses minimal health risks if used as described here. (See material safety data sheet links below). Note that silver nitrate and STS can cause brown stains upon drying, so spray over newspaper and avoid spilling.



Part A: .5 gram silver nitrate stirred into 500ml distilled water


Part B: 2.5 grams sodium thiosulfate (anhydrous) stirred into 500ml distilled water

The silver nitrate dissolves within 15 seconds. The sodium thiosulfate takes 30-45 seconds to dissolve.



The silver nitrate solution (A) is then mixed into the sodium thiosulfate solution (B) while stirring rapidly. The resulting blend is stock silver thiosulfate solution (STS).



This stock solution is then diluted at a ratio of 1:9 to make a working solution. For example, 100ml of stock STS is added to 900ml of distilled water. This is then sprayed on select female plants. Then do that second spraying at the end of week 2... seems to be the key for getting pollen from the more difficult strains.
