Discontinued nutrients, Lucas guys..

Sounds good, I knew it was under 5 ppm but just couldn’t remember. Might be the route I take, I can get shock at any hardware store here and it’s really cheap. It will be for preventative so I would prob run it in the low end again. I still need to try gff sometime here too.

Came back to revisit my thread, get some EC info, i germinated 4 seeds, 3 popped in 24 hours, systems full. My waters is the cleanest I ever had @ 4 ppm with the new filter. Ran the room yesterday for about 12 hours. Took me 2 months to change up the room. FNB in hand, it’s go time!

Added my first FNB to my clean res today, I’m surprised that 160ml in roughly 70 gallons dropped the ph one full point. Was aiming for about 2ml a gallon, now it’s at 220ppm. Figure that will be a good top feed for now. Going to give it some time to buffer, confirmed with my drops, ph went 4.5. Rising again now.

i'm running @ 30mL per 10 gal which comes out to about 0.8 EC total. well is 0.2
Came back to reference this, going to crunch some numbers of stuff I ran in the past. I winged it and seems 1ml a gallon put me around .8 ec with near 0 water. Seedlings are 10 days old and look hungryish... Leary About upping fnb or just adding some nitrogen aka cali magic. I didn’t bother getting cal nit, have trio grow and Cali on hand.

Buy H&G 2 part shits awesome. Been using it on half my room vs GH 3part. It's killing the GH by like a lot.

FNB seems pretty stable @rkymtnman, I give it 20-30 mins to stabilize and it just need a shot of up and it holds for days, a week.. only thing I noticed so far is a bit of Ca def (prob a reason you don’t use for veg) and it leaves deposits on my white pvc and some of the root that’s not submerged. I started running light pool shock, stuff runs pretty clean otherwise.

agree on the stability. when i need to go away for a week or more, only gh maxibloom and fnb were stable enough to allow me to do that.

i just harvested 2 of 3. the last plant i've been pretty much on Jack's RO formula for most of bloom . so far so good. about another month to go.
I assume you figured out the dropping ph issue you had? Think it was a ph issue if I remember correctly? I’m kinda winging it on ec and cal mag. I know Lucas shouldnt need calmag but both times I tried and it needed calmag. Prob feeding a bit under .9 ec at week 3. Pretty boring, numbers on monitor don’t move, nothing to do, just watch the grass grow.

they sent me the RO formula. i had their Tap version prior and all the pH drops. this is much more stable, it's good for a week.

only running 0.6EC net all the time. no cal or mg issues at all. she's nice and green and healthy. i think she's 6 weeks now??

Are you using the RO on tap? I hope FNB doesn’t disappoint, I was going to run jacks. I might be a bit hot but being one part, I feel I’m about half strength right now. They might be a bit dark and I ran into this with m/b last time, early calcium issue, not sure if I really ever recovered full, being new to the hydro game, but the smoke is good. So kinda paranoid, I just about recalculated to add flora grow. Cali magic might be a issue too, I should check some other options out. Used very little, 80 ppm. I don’t see anything otherwise, growth is pretty explosive and all looks healthy, will prob post a update here later.

i use my well water with the RO formula.

did you have Ca issues with the FNB by itself? and then you added the CalMg? what is your source water ?

Yeah I had some spotting about a week ago on fnb alone, source is under 5 ppm. Might of been running to light at 2ml per gallon, I’m around 4 now.

Somethings still not right. Plants looked droopy and dark, added bit of calmag and ended up increasing ec a bit on top of that, I would say it’s worse or the same. I’m filling my holding tank again now for a res change, I’m contemplating adding grow into the mix with fnb. I was at a lower ec and I upped it to see, I’m going to lower it again but everything I read tells me to run Lucas @ 8ml gal on fnb. That would put me around 2ec though. .8 was no good, 1.4 is no good. I had this problem with m/b last time too. Maybe I should just grab the fng and do both, not sure, this is costing time though. I’m either too hot (no signs of it and I doubt it is) or lacking something like calcium and it’s causing some issues.

1.4 should have been plenty IMO. keep us posted on what you try next.

I agree, did more thinking, smoked a joint, new plan. I’m in week 3 of veg just about 4, plants have been topped twice each with about half the bio mass cut, they have a decent healthy root mass and plenty of light on tap.

My monitor is calibrated and I use gh ph drops, ph should be fine @5.8-5.9, I can’t make 80 gallons drift, it takes weeks, I’m far from hydro savvy, didn’t have these problems in peat, but I see guys drifting from 5.5 to 6.2, no fucking clue how they accomplish that, won’t happen on Lucas from my experiences so far.

Anyways, I’m going to keep my 1.4 for another day but, I’m going to remove and add back with an additional 100ppm of calmag, I don’t have anything on hand other then calimagic. I expect a response from the plants in about 24 hrs based on what’s I have seen. I’m wondering if it’s not a DO issue even, I have one air pump in my res, I might throw a second pump and stone each site. Running co2, no idea if that’s playing a role, 1 to 1200ppm, rooms sealed pretty tight. I have proven that any issues are not being caused by my led side lights.

Rambling, will update with results.

hope you get it sorted out quickly. 1.4 should have been plenty IMO. keep us posted on what you try next.
I ordered dynagrow FP for my restart... did more reading and pondering and I will just run Lucas for flower.

@AquaTerra has a good selection of nutes and that dyna grow was cheaper then amazon, anyone in Canada should take a peak if they never have. Now if you would just sell some black market southern ag GFF we would be set!
