did you hear the news today?

Did you see Romney is now "taking a great deal of the credit" for the bailout of the auto companies, minus Ford of course......that was an interesting claim since he is quoted as saying they should go bankrupt....now he says he meant it should have been a structured monitored bankruptcy (sp?) that he says was his idea.
romney thought that private investors, like his own bain capital, should have bailed out the auto industry.

well, bain was given that chance, and declined it.

romney said this about a government bailout for the auto industry:
IF General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye.

turns out all that "business experience" in the field of vulture capitalism didn't make him very smart.

A good read. He makes some valid points, the funny part is that Ford did NOT take any bailout money (I only drive F-150's thank you very much!). They made all the necessary changes without needing anyone to tell them how to do it. GM and Chrysler were totally different, with the various entities they held that were putting a very negative balance on their sheets, which needed to be shed.

What's sad is that now Ford starts guys at $14/hr.....take out taxes and union dues, and there isn't much left. My best friend works on the line, he didn't take the buyout, and makes a nice amount of money to live on. You couldn't do that now there, but what happened had to I guess.

I'm still laughing at those clowns showing up in private jets to their congressional hearings the first time.....hilarious!

And as far as making less high end options on the cars to compete.....he couldn't be more wrong. The new F150's are almost $50k and are selling so fast they can't build them quick enough. Chrysler is killing it with that new 300 they made (I think thats the one that Emenim was in the ad for). That one is stacked with options, and is one of the most popular cars on the road.

What we need, as we say here in auto land is for people driving imports to at least think twice about what they're buying, and have some shame about driving them in Michigan. You should see the bumper stickers around here now, it pretty funny making fun of foreign car owners.

no offense to the thousands of people here driving foreign cars, yes I know most of them are assembled here.....for $12/hr.

basically...

Why is this news?

Because I have always assumed that the Messiah looked kindly on gay marriage.

Is it news that he, only now, three plus years into his first term, has taken an official stance on it?

And even then, only because Biden shot off his big bazoo?

If you are a committed Proggie, that is nothing to celebrate. It reeks of desperation and cowardice.

And consider Romney, he was for it before he was against it.

Does anyone really believe either candidate is being truly genuine only now?

Or, are both candidates simply throwing red meat to their respective bases?

Which scenario is more likely?

Ultimately, this issue will have little effect on either candidate's prospects.

Same sex marriage will not define this election.

Cynics won't care because they believe both candidates are merely politicking. Many Independents are cynical.

Enlightened Conservatives don't care either way because it is not a hill they would consider important enough to fight for.

Hardcore Republicans will care. But, they were voting for the Republican nominee anyway.

Traditional, mainly rural, Democrats will care. They do exist, and they do not approve of their party's embrace of the LGBT agenda.

And Liberal Democrats will care, but they were voting for the Messiah anyway.

i thought romney's problem was he was not appealing to far right cannidates thats why they were all supporting santorum. hes considered a liberal republican

Obama is smart & cunning. he is also fuckin shit up and not giving a fuck. I say theres 300 million people in america. why the fuck does he deserve another 4 years?

I bet no one can really say why he deserves another 4 years, i mean it cant get much worse. I think anything would be better than obama at this point. as long as its an inteligent person who is in the center and not batshit crazy lol

Why is this news?
maybe ask the LGBTQ community. they might could tell you why, i reckon.

Because I have always assumed that the Messiah looked kindly on gay marriage.

Is it news that he, only now, three plus years into his first term, has taken an official stance on it?
i reckon you're confused, stranger. up until now, the president's official position has been that marriage is between one man and one woman.

despite that, many like myself felt he was just politicking and that he did not really feel that way.

i present to you exhibit A: https://www.rollitup.org/politics/525906-obamas-second-term.html

And even then, only because Biden shot off his big bazoo?
if you think that was a biden gaffe, you have not been paying attention.

our commander in chief is the best troll in the land, and really knows how to toss the bait out there.

i present to you exhibit B:

If you are a committed Proggie, that is nothing to celebrate. It reeks of desperation and cowardice.
an incumbent president taking a stance on a hot button issue one day after 15 of his most highly sought after electoral votes overwhelmingly said otherwise is anything but desperation or cowardice, it is courageous and ballsy. real ballsy.

he might as well have said: "north carolina, take your 15 electoral votes and go fuck yourselves".

it's almost as ballsy as making the decision to send in seal team six to take out osama bin laden when lobbing a simple missile would have done the trick.

And consider Romney, he was for it before he was against it.

Does anyone really believe either candidate is being truly genuine only now?
reference back to exhibit A. yes, i do believe obama is being genuine now.

Or, are both candidates simply throwing red meat to their respective bases?

Which scenario is more likely?

Ultimately, this issue will have little effect on either candidate's prospects.

Same sex marriage will not define this election.
so, your logic is that obama is doing this to boost his chances because he knows it is inconsequential? which is it, a boost, or inconsequential? it can't be both.

Cynics won't care because they believe both candidates are merely politicking. Many Independents are cynical.
many independents, with respect to gay marriage, have views evolving in the same fashion as obama's views evolved. they have friends and co-workers that are in committed, same-sex relationships and see no reason why they shouldn't be able to get married.

And Liberal Democrats will care, but they were voting for the Messiah anyway.
your analysis is pretty pointless if, like you asserted, this issue will not define this election.

what is relevant is who controls the news cycle. and with precious days ticking down, obama is seemlessly controlling the news cycle as he did in 2008 with romney in an unenviable position.

that would explain exhibit C:

It's probably, at least in part, a way to demonstrate the wide differences between the two parties. Otherwise the election would be boring as fuck....which it likely will be anyway, Romney is a major stiff, and Obama is, well, Obama.

I wouldn't be surprised of down the road we see more "surprises" from either candidate. Maybe since Obama took this stand, he'll change his mind on enforcing federal will on medical mj and let states rregulate it as they see fit...another hot button topic that will differentiate Obama from romney.

The LBGT vote will not affect the election.

So his 'official' position changed. But the inside joke is that the 'official' position was bullshit. You're cool with that. Gotcha.

Biden mouthed off and a few days later The One is changing his 'official' position. You seem to think that was all planned in advance. lol

Obama wrote off NC a while back. The Democrats were sorry they picked it for the DNC convention long ago. Getting your ass kicked in repeatedly, in a few off-year elections tends to do that.

Obama waited six months after they discovered OBL's location thanks to enhanced interrogation techniques performed under the Intelligence apparatus he inherited. Six months. Real ballsy.

If you think Obama is being genuine now, you could be right. Does that mean you were okay with his disingenuous prior to this?

My point is that Obama is trying to energize his base. Nothing more. I maintain that this will be inconsequential in terms of the election.

Many Independents see the issue the way I do. They have no opinion either way. Same sex marriage is neither immoral or moral. It just is.

My analysis is dead on. The issue will not define the election. Some Democrats may stay home on election day over the issue, but it will not be consequential.

Will Exhibit C apply to you on election day?

Time will tell.

yep, biden went on meet the press, spoke in a deliberate fashion, and it was all off script. right. then the next day, a cabinet member comes out and says the same. right.

you got presidentially-trolled, bro.

obama hasn't written off AZ, he is expanding the map. NC is very much so in play.

Obama waited six months after they discovered OBL's location thanks to enhanced interrogation techniques performed under the Intelligence apparatus he inherited. Six months. Real ballsy.
oh, now you need to cite that the information that lead to the courier was produced by enhanced interrogation. not the story i heard. now you're flailing.

how long do you suppose it takes to set up a mock compound and go through training session after training session in order to make sure you get the real mission right? 6 months sounds like a good time frame to me.

If you think Obama is being genuine now, you could be right. Does that mean you were okay with his disingenuous prior to this?
no, i wasn't.

good luck with this guy. see you on election day!

brilliant move as the religious zealots that do not agree were never going to vote for him in the first place and he just sealed the gay vote and loss nothing...now lets see if he smart enough to do the same on mmj...NOT

I will predict that this was Biden's final gaffe. Obama is probably ready to tear his head off. The campaign has better things to do than to react to Biden's verbal diarrhea. Hillary will be VP, Kerry will take her job and we will be stuck with this guy for the longest and most painful 4 years in human history. (I dont really think that but I'm baked so I'll say it anyway. It could be true?)

I am a conservative but support gay marriage. Who the hell cares? Get the fuck over it. Gays are way more fun to party with than conservatives anyway, you just have to overlook getting groped on the dance floor by them lol!

that was no gaffe. this allows obama to control the news cycle for a while.

go watch him on meet the press speak in a deliberate, measured fashion and tell me that it was a gaffe.

this was planned.

I think everyone heard that Gay marriage is a State issue. Not a Federals issue.

Medical marijuana is a STATE ISSUE.

What about that Mr. Obama!

Yes... he is 2 faced #$@^%
