Deadliest catch season 8......

i think elliot and his crew are going to implode soon. what i think will be one of the interesting parts will be to see if they get over and work through it or if it will be more severe.

as for crews, personally right now the wizard has one of my favorite crews.(kind of disappointing crosby is no longer a crabber though, he was cool and really talented as evidenced by the fact as a greenhorn he not only carried his own weight but also the majority of guy's weight too doing the job of 2 or 3 people and did it good.)
Freddy is probably the best deckhand in the fleet. Lenny is close but he doesnt liven tthings up and raise morale quite the same way as freddy does. the ability to be able to lift up the rest of the crew just by his attitude and presence is huge. if you want to count edgar as a deck hand i think he is the same level as those two. kind of sucks to see him starting to break down physically but its something pretty much every deckhand eventually goes through.

oh wow, I guess it is NOT danny who gets airlifted off, it must be the guy keith gets to replace him. tbh overall i wasnt that impressed with the new episode, it was alright but could of been better.

new episode was pretty good. i was extremely disappointed on where they got the name "alien abduction" for that episode. i dont like to read about episodes before they are on as it kind of kills the surprise and ever since i saw last week the name of this weeks episode i been thinking "i wonder how the title "alien invasion" is going to be related to the episode" and now i know-keith said about how his greenhorn probably felt it was an alien abduction he was experiencing the world was so foreign to him on the boat.

speaking of which, wow, mouse picked a winner that time. lol. i wonder what that guy could of done to impress monty(i switch between calling him mouse and monty when i feel like it,lol). my guess is he must of been some kind of agriculture worker and was very good at it so was used to long hours and hard labor. it looks like he is the one who gets airlifted off, they showed clips of it when advertising next weeks episode.

i'll type more later, now its your guy's turn. especially you racerboy, i expect your thoughts on the episode to be posted shortly! (lol, on a side note, did you catch the new river monsters sunday? i knew the second i saw the commercial that it was going to be the kaluga, it is hard to find info on the kaluga but its a really cool fish so ive researched it in the past. none of the stuff i read really impressed the seriousness of the situation with them. i was/am very very very disappointed but it looks like they are fucked, they are going to go extinct. the only possible hope i could think of is a massive captive breeding program to keep the species around and only "extinct in the wild" not "extinct". right now their is no possible way they wont go extinct in the wild imo.)

Monty must be on some serious pain meds to have thought that kid was the best fit. I have to believe that Keith wanted a young inexperienced greenhorn he could mold into a Bering Sea fisherman.

Elliot is getting the Karma back he deserves for being a slime ball.

Anyone else notice Andy was not in the Wheelhouse w/ John on the Time Bandit. You think he is opting not to be around his bro's wrath while he tries to quit smoking? Good for John for quitting smoking cigs. Being a Bering Sea Fisherman cigs are probably one of the least threatening things to your life.

This show is still happenin, wow...
I need my own reality t.v. show... Ill call it apprentice plumbing. It will be a thrill, training new plumbers and teaching how to be real plumber..
Then season 2 someone will die on the job and my ratings will sky rocket and I'll be rich, with another stupid ass reality t.v. show.

The funniest part I think was the look on Capt Colburns face when he said the Greenhorns mother asked how his precious son was to get his underwear cleaned for him.

it was getting big long before phil died. alot of people i know in real life have told me they dont really watch it anymore since he died so i dont know about that making it so popular.........seems like they lost as many fans as they gained to me. phil didnt die on the job btw. he was doing really good and was in the hospital getting ready to go to rehab soon to everyones amazement, much sooner than anyone had predicted possible. then all of the sudden he had a second stroke and could not be revived.

this weeks episode should be pretty good imo. i think they might wait more till the end of the episode to show the scenes with chris on the wizard as next weeks episode(the one after the episode thats on tommorow) is titled "I dont wanna die" then again though it could be something he says in the chopper as they medivac him. i hope they play a special after the new episode. im kind of doubtful we will see one though. its been a few weeks since they played the last special and its still kind of early for after the catch.

so, who thinks captain jon will actually stop smoking? I myself wont go that far but i do think their is a decent chance of him making it. it's his willpower that will decide it and his granddaughter might be enough for him to make it.

a while back we were talking about toughness and i dont recall if it was brought up but i just remembered one that i think really stood out. Mike on the time bandit had that 60lb chunk of ice fall about 30 feet directly on him. i was surprised he lived the first time i seen it but to see him just take maybe a minute or two to shake it off and get back to work really impressed me. its actually kind of hard to believe now still. lol

good episode so far imo. my hunch was correct it seems though. it's 45 after and they still havent started showing chris needing to be airlifted out yet. it's gonna be more than a 15 minute scene.

the only reason i dont want to see them leave the rambling rose and focus more airtime on the other boats is that i like the deck boss kado(and a few of the crew too), he's been on the show on 3 different boats now(stellar sea-pilot episodes, well known for falling overboard and being saved. next was the lucky lady i believe, season 1 or 2, that one he falls on the deck where a board was missing b/c of a storm and fucks his ankle up bad, he went back out and ran the hydros as soon as he could, he didnt know what he was doing and got the captain so mad...lol...,and of course this time he's on the rambling rose.

Tonight’s episode was pretty crazy with the storm moving in and Chris getting air lifted off the Wizard.
I was talking to my bud about last weeks show and we were trying to figure out what was wrong with Chris. He said jellyfish but I said they wear gloves and it’s cold on the Bering sea. His vital signs didn’t sound too life threatening.
I’m wondering if it wasn’t some elaborate scheme to get his ass off the boat.
Then saying he had to piss, lol, Keith wasted no time to pull out his dick out and he pissed on the sorting table and was flown back to safety.
Probably not but sorta funny to think about.

I'm telling you, the kid is allergic to Cod fish.

Junior is a beast, risking life and limb to be infamous. You don't leave much of a mark on the industry if your one engine boat gets capsized with 100k lbs of crab on it.

I can't imagine Elliot is going to have a lot of crew retention after this season. Working them to the bone for little reward, and talking shit to them at the same time. I saw we are 4 episodes from mutiny. Elliot cannot get a break, Karma is a mother fucker.

i was really surprised junior took such a huge risk. with 2 engines the seabrook is one the fastest boats and well made but with 1 engine.....crazy, thats worse than elliot wanting tto keep going through the hurricane.
i was really kind of surprised by the "i think i have to pee" part of the scene, lol, was also kind of surprised how they handled it. i was expecting the coast guard guy to tell keith no they'd take care of it in the helicopter. probably by putting in a catherer.....(cringes). yeah i noticed how keith was in pure survival mode and all that and hopped right up and uh, took care of it. lol.
