www.tv-links.eu you wont have to download it but they dont have the special out yet either. do you usually watch after the catch? it's got a page on that site too. compared to last year i was shocked how quick tv-links had the new episode. there were dozens of them up within a hour or two of it being on. last year it was hell trying to find the ones i missed cuz i had to work. which wont be a problem this year because my boss agreed to give me tuesday and wednesday off everyweek. today is my saturday.bongsmilie
yeah i use to use tvlinks but i normaly watch after the catch on tv cause there kinda hard to find with a torrent im suprised tvlinks had some links up for last years i was hoping josh was gonna rock derick ray when they where arguing

lol, i think one of their little "outings" (like andy going spearfishing was one that i can remember still, lol) should of been to a boxing arena. they could of settled it once and for all. plus im sure the ratings would of been through the roof. to be honest it wouldnt of surprised me if jake really was smoking on the boat though. the way he jumped ship right away and said he wouldnt take a drug test after saying he was going to when they got on shore cuz he knew he'd pass. tbh if done properly i dont think smoking would really be that big of deal though.

lol yeah they should of did that i wouldnt be suprised if he was smoking either but i dont blame him for not wanting to take another drug test he already took a couple but it was kinda shady how he dipped off like that lol i dont think its a big deal as long as he wasnt smoking while he was working

looks like inside the catch might be a regular thing for a bit. next week one called "near death" will be on. the one deckhands is now on tvlinks. you'll probably have to wait a while before the one they aired this week shows up since it took until today for deckhands to be added. tbh the one played today was alot of stuff thats been seen and discussed before. some new insights, but not many. still good but not great.

man, i cant believe elliot went and pot for pot junior because he doesnt want junior to beat him and junior was ignoring him so elliot decided to "see for himself" what kind of fishing junior was on as he figured since junior was being secretive he was on good fishing. that was straight up weak of hreaim. the fact he didnt even try to lie about it to the camera guy on his boat and basically said "no one owns the ocean, i'll fish how i want." was kind of surprising to me. i would of expected him to play it down somewhat and not just admit he was busted red handed doing something looked down on considered in very bad taste in the honor code of most fishermen.

bump. someone out there must like deadliest catch too.....the last 2 seasons the deadliest catch threads ive made were alot more active. i wonder if people stop watching the show or is it just because of the drop in member numbers since then.

it was kind of sad seeing justin in that....um...urn i guess you call it. i was kind of surprised it didnt say his date of birth or death and just had the day he was cremated. i hope we get specials all the way through. do you think they'll do a deadliest catch this year? i sure hope so, it would suck if season 8 was the end. they probably wont have a red crab season to film though, i guess we got to hope lots of the boats decide to go for blues again. i think all of them but the time bandit have a good chance of doing so. i guess maybe they'll just sit it out.

man, i don't know how you like keith dark, i'd knock that dick bag on his ass in about 2 seconds flat.. my god, i can't stand a boss all being up in my grill the way he does...
did you see him fucking getting in a fight with a camera guy b'cuz the camera dude wouldn't make him a pot of coffee?? fuck, i wouldn't either, fuck him...
that was good 411 on the blake saga.. i had wondered what happened to him and the boat... never knew the back story..

i really like john and his brother, brain fart atm, but they're always fucking around and playing pranks with each other and shit.. seems like the one boat i could work on, if i could handle that work that is..
it's also nice to see edgar back this year.. i feel bad for the other jake though.. seems like he's always getting shit on, idk how much he brings on himself though, but he seems like a good kid and a really hard worker for sure..

their was more to it than just the coffee, things build up over time. keith later apologized and carper also apologized for how he had been acting and the 2 consider themselves on good terms. i was kind of shocked when i saw it and it really did make me go "WTF keith, cmon man, you need to work on those outbursts of yours." too. it was way over the top. back to the character issue, you have to look at it as a whole. he is very emotional. that is both good and bad imo. he really cares about his crew(it makes me mad when people try to imply keith did something wrong when he took the wave in season 5 and some of his guys got hurt. the plan they had was good except for 1 part, they waited too long to put up the tarps all the way. keith and his crew had a plan, he did not wantonly take a risk. it was calculated and who knows, 99/100 times in that situation they might of pulled it off) and family and friends and fellow fisherman in general. he has been shown breaking down when trying to deal with issues related to them.(when he recieved news of phils stroke, when he dropped the pot after phil passed, when describing how scared he was when they took the wave for his guys, when talking to the cameraman after hearing news of a tragedy with another boat going down, when jonothan rejected his attempt to reconcile their friendship in season 6 after red crab, etc). he is also under a huge amount of stress and sleeps 3 or 4 hrs a day at the most, lots of times going longer w/o it. he also 99% of the time will say he's sorry after he calms down when he has his outbursts, although they are very rarely shown on tv. ive also watched all the after the catch and deadliest catch special and keith is a good deal different. i believe keith when he says the deadliest catch people "typecast" him to an extent to give him the angry snap over nothing look he has somewhat. they have been known to do things like that.

Racerboy, its really great to see you on this thread. lol. If it ends up being 1/10 as good as the old lockup thread i'll be happy.

lol, thanks for the kind words dark... you're good people...

i also enjoyed the lock up thread, been digging the new session so far, it's nice to finally see some new episodes for a change for sure...

but yah, i watch deadliest catch a lot, not as much as lock up of course, but i watch it on the reg.. i tend to get sick of the long marathons of it though, but i try to catch the new episodes when they come out..
i never knew there were two different types of crab, well, i know they did an oppi season, which is later in the year, maybe january i want to say, and then they do the king's in oct, but i didn't realize they had blues and reds till this season..

did you catch any of the specials with johnathin and his brother, damn, why can't i remember his name, where they were up in alaska looking for that lake monster?? it was a pretty cool show, they ended up blowing shit up as usual, lol..

yeah, it was kind of funny. I'm really skeptical that they actually had all those encounters though. i was thinking how funny it would of been if when jonathon(andy is the brothers name btw) was shooting into the water after they supposedly had it by the boat if a great big 20 ft white sturgeon would of floated to the service, good luck explaining that one to alaska fish and game. lol.
Blue crab had been closed for quite a while, as far as i know last year was the first season it was open in a few years(i remember the northwestern gave them a go after they had finished their red crab season, sig said at that point it was the first time the fishery had been open in a long time at that point it was a total flop, probably a big influence on his decisions to go after the red crab and not the blue this year). Last year 3 boats fished them total. they are in general less profitable than other crap species, a 20 average is good fishing, 40 or 50 is a very great pot. it looks like their population has recovered fairly well over the time it was closed because the blue crab quota went up significantly this year.

imo Jake anderson having jake harris on board with him will most likely help with jake a's moodiness or whatever you want to call it, the 2 are good friends. (alot of times i just wish sig would come down, grab jakes a's shoulders, shake him and say "KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF ALREADY! STOP TAKING EVERYTHING PERSONAL!". sig seems to be the only one who can snap jake a. back like that once he gets in his moods, anyone else tries to explain it he just takes it as an insult personally.)it must be frustrating to jake a. if he was planning on edgar being true to his "Yea, people think im the next in line to run the boat, but those people are mistaken. my kids need a dad not a skipper. i dont want to take over" attitude now that edgar is pushing sig to be in the wheelhouse more because his body is breaking down. i dont see sig retiring anytime soon unless he has/develops some sort of health problems that are so bad he has no choice. noow with edgar taking more wheelhouse time and all that stuff it pushes back the amount of time till he could take over.

it must suck for jake anderson becouse he was kinda taking over as deck boss now edgars back its like jake took a step down now i think jake hariis will problay learn alot on the time bandit to it seems like the hillstrands will take the time to teach him

new one is on. so far so good. looks like they may go heavy into the jr vs. elliot angle this season. i think this episode may be the one keith calls the coast guard. if not within the next 2 i think we'll see it. (edit-no, i guess not this one for sure i dont think it will be long now though. i wonder if he will just be normal one second and maybe even talking to keith(who would come down to give him a little positive advice, he's been shown doing it multiple times over the years on deadliest catch) and going to go into a seizure mode or if someone will find him like that . kind of like a camera man on the kodiak who went into seizures in season 6. the footage is shown only in the specials. im pretty sure it wasnt shown on the actual series at least. another difference is that i dont think bill had the coast guard come out. another case is not directly deadliest catch but the footage was shown when in season 5 i believe on the cornelia marie when todd(or tom, i get them confused when really high they are brothers with very similar names) stanley is telling his greenhorn camera man about how important staying hydrated is and tells him about how when he was on a lobster fishing show similar to deadliest catch his partner got so dehydrated they had to call the coast guard out for him. i wonder what it is that fucking with danny so much, hypothesis-maybe he is a big time alcoholic(no disrespect meant to anyone) who is so addicted he actually does get severe wiithdrawl when not drinking. in fact the withdrawl symptoms might not need to be all that severe to start a snowball effect when doing what these guys do. not being able to sleep or eat or really keep anything in your stomach and working at least 18 hrs a day in the very extreme enviroment they do.

in a way i kind of felt sorry for the greenhorn on the kodiak who started mentally breaking down when talking to the camera man about how hard he is trying and how much doing a good job mattered. its clear he takes pride in his work and really wants to do it, you could tell how serious he was imo.

i hope this special they are playing now after the show is not just a bunch of clips theyve shown and discussed multiple times like the special last week was for the most part.

anyway back to the new episode. i was starting to like elliot at the end of season 7. when i looked at the bigger picture his motivation is success and securing his place in the wheelhouse and his pride and ambition and even possibley getting trident to sell him a share of the boat, possibley outright and to be a succesful captain is what drives him but this season he's been doing some pretty crappy things, like in this episode where elliot chose to not take 4 hours of time to get to a spot he could lay his pots so his crew was not working into the ditch. imo very stupid of elliot. if he had taken that 4 hrs it would of been easier on the guys and easier to quickly get the pots off in a safer and faster way so instead of fucking around doing a bunch of dangerous shit. he probably would of finished hours earlier if he had done it the safer way. even if it were to just break even time wise with the in the ditch method he chose its still safer and easier on the crew, which is vital to get the most out of them. elliot hass alot to learn.

Elliot is pompous, the way he talks to his crew is a joke. He acts like they are all buddies, and like they are the young studs of the sea, but he is just a rookie captain who lacks humility. He shows no respect to anyone. His blue crab quota is getting to his head; it will be interesting to see if he will be able to deliver in this trust that was put in him.

Big fan here; even tho I grew up here in AK. I like the show. Most favorite boat/crew:

1. Time Bandit
1. Northwestern
1. Cornelia Marie

Ok, so its a tie! lol... the rest fall under those three; its to bad the Harris boys couldnt fund the ol boat this year. Might be a blessing for them two tho; maybe this is what they need to truly start!

Elli and the Ramblin blabber mouth; the guy is a douche bag! Not to much a fan of Jr. but man, if I were him ide drop that Ellie and soon as we met at the dock for running on top of his string.

Keith and the Wizard, I like Lenny and Mouse, but the rest of them are idiots! including, Keith.

Number one Deckboss on the show; hands down, Edgar on the Northwestern; no one comes close!
