do you use some sort of machine or do you just toss em in a bucket and keep em misted? ive been trying to get the cloning process down but for the life of me i cant get it right. am i supposed to keep em wet or just spray em 1 or 2 times a day? how long does it take to see roots

what do you think of anti-wilt Sub?

I got my list everything to clone with from this thread and when my friend noticed i was going without anti-wilt and was very surprised

gotta say, you are like a rock sub. not letting this thread hang.

cant tell you how many clones i've rooted with this method, hundreds. the only time i lose one, is when i choose(stragglers, i don't like runts!)

I've also learned they root at different rates when taken from different parts off mommy.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Sub, I've learned a lot trolling your threads. How long after you cut clones do you flower the moms? Should i wait a week or does it matter? Thanks

thanks subcool for all info you share on here.
coming from a guy who kills everything he touch's ive tried almost every method of cloning killing clones by the hundreds along the way(tried a ez cloner..didnt like the results some plants clone easier than others in it. i have a indica that will hollow stem in the ezcloner.
killed clones in rock wool. killed clones in dirt anyway you can think of..alot of it due to to much water.
lessons learned . all i use is a cheap tray some wicking mats a propagation heat mat, a humidity dome . soft light the same cycle as the mothers kept at 75 degrees. to much light and they dont like to throw roots. i use jiffy pucks soaked in PH balanced water at 6..when the pucks are placed into the tray i drop a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to sterilize the stem .it seems to help the clone roof faster with a little extra oxygen around the stem too..keeping the wick MOIST the peat jiffy puck sucks up the moisture it needs.if to wet it will drown the stem.
no need to spray the dome or plants..but a very very light mixture of sea weed to spray on them seems to help.but i dont do it..the heat mat and the mousture from the wick fill the humidity dome up giving the seedlings what they need to stay alive untill they throw a root.i use plain water in a two gallon bucket. with two caps of earth juice PH out to 6.
it is simular to the method you use ..and it works the best out of any i have tried.

Sub, I found that when cloning, (soil), the medium must be moist, not wet. if you can squeeze water out of the soil it may be to wet. I have terrible luck when the soil is soaked...

I also found that newly cut clones do not like close, direct, light. every time the light is to close the clones wither and die. So I place the clones on my 4ft floros, right over the ballast where it is the warmest, and out of direct light (Ihave a mh up, about 6ft away). The heat warms the water, and as it evaporizes,it rises up through the plant cups, warming the soil, and out the top and collects on the inside of the dome, giving me 100% humidity.

My ? is when is it best to take the cutting, right after lights on or just before lights out?
