is it dumb to use sunpulse 10k bulb and sunpulse 3k bulb in a 2 bulb flowering setup? or is it worth it to splurge on the 6.5k bulb as well and just go 3 bulbs? (talking metal halides here). (no hps)
More light is better is BS unless you are expanding the size of your garden, folks less is more!

Sunpulse bulbs are meant to be used in a specific sequencethe 10k is only used in like the last 2weeks of flowering. If you choose to use a single bulb for theentire length of your grow for hobby grows they reccomend the 3K, for commercial the 4K. The 6.5K is your primary veg bulb in the multi-bulb setup. ON another note the Philips 400W CMH bulb is 4k and you can get it for around $45 bucks @ lighting supply.com flat rate shipping $10where as th sun pulse bulbs list price is over $100 but you can find them in the $80.00 - $90.00 range not including shipping. I've read some grows where the 3k or 4k bulb were used and the grower stated no real difference whe ncompared to using the HPS during flower. That said Riddle uses CMH exclusive and his buds usually look like they were dipped in a bucket of trichomes before he took the picture.
Also HTG is marketing a CMH growlight package but they are using an inferior bulb whic hwill not produce the same results as the philips bulb. Granted I have no actual experience with it but based on what Riddle has logged in his journals and what other say I bought CMH so if you have any doubts just read Riddles threads he details everything you can think of... well except his fermentation chamber but he drops enough clues that you can reproduce that as well, lol!

Happy growing!!

hey riddle one more quick question regarding "making it rain". Do you do this every watering? and is this done during both veg and flower?

I vary it up sometimes, currently doing it once a week with heavy feedings inbetween

Not that I'm a pro by any means, but ever since adopting the "make it rain" technique, my progress has been kick ass. I started doing light to regular strength feedings, but when I realized how often I was flushing I switched to double strength feedings. I even did a few back to back 2x strength feedings, knowing I'd be able to wash away any salts with the next flush. Check my sig for pics... You can see how my 2 girls took off once I started to make it rain....

I do it from 2 weeks old every watering is a rain/feed

Just develop a method that works for you and produces what you are looking for...we all make it rain but all do it a lil different from each other

Here is the link to Riddleme's cloning secrets https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/blog62-riddlemes-cloning-secrets.html

uhm... yeah, not so secret anymore LOL

All of riddleme's important "ditties"/ tutorials are in his Nugget's link in his signature

except the fermentation chamber, he's keeping that one under wraps though the most studious of his followers can piece it together by reading all, and I mean ALL of the reference links in the thread where he discusses building and using the chamber. Buds ready to smoke in less than an week! Also he says they get better with age in the jars! 3 days rather than a month or two! So, why is he trying to slow it down? That is an excellent question. Personally I think it is to see it the quality is intesified by fermenting at a slower rate. interesting to see the results!

ok riddleme, first and for most, for lack of better wording, thank you for taking the time to guide us newer generations with the knowledge of an og.....

so where im at, ff of soil, 2.5 weeks into flowering under 388w of 2700k cfl's with a few 6500k in the mix, im at page 19 after a few hours of reading and have a solid grasp of M.I.R (gonna continue to read your threads etc) so far im only using big bloom and i just picked up both the Brer Rabbit and Grandma's molasses - planning on adding it to my next plain water. im currently and finishing in 1 g pots (and have one in a 3g)(the girls in the 1 g pots are about 1' to 16") all of which the same strain, however my question is this.
my table is a tad crowded (5 of my 7 beans ended up females) and two of them are significantly smaller than the other 3- being a "noob" so to speak i of course have yet to chop them in fear of losing out on yield... is this just a rookie move? would i be better off chopping 2 and pouring my love to the remaining 3? ( they may end up pulling more than all 5 given the extra lighting and love, am i wrong?)

i did read they need their space and i suppose i could re-arrange the remaining 3 and use the lights i had on the others to boost up my bigger girls... i do understand wattage and lumes are NOT everything.

I also understand where i was going the organic route/ the chemical line is better suited for this method- would it benefit me to chop the 2 and make it rain on the remaining 3 given my supplies?

i have a hydro shop a little ways away and could easily pick up the nutes you listed in the O.P...

any insight would be appreciated by a new student and again thank you for your time.
peace and pot
Chief

Totally up to you of course, very common for growers to cull the percieved weaklings in the comercial world, but most personal medical growers would pamper them and grow them out and would tell you that the runts are usually more potent. ie: in my current grow it is the runt that I would choose to clone of the 3 going, IMO yield should be one of the last considerations for medical growers :)

ty ty sir, then all 5 shall remain until the final chop!
forgot to vote last night and bumped the poll to an even 500.....

gonna be reading as much as my time allows and you can consider another "student" on board!

thanks again for all the time and effort you have put into these threads it is greatly appreciated by us younger generation in the scene...

Thanks a million! This article helped a lot. You made me a TON more confident about growing! Everyone makes it seem like you have to keep marijuana in a sterile bubble. It also seems that growing is really expensive, when its not! So thanks so much for all the info and tips!!

It looks OK to me. Couple things, 18 " seems far away for t-8's & Cfl. So if it was me I'd get them closer. The smaller ones in the blue cups look ready to up-can into a bigger pot. check your rep.
