This is what I was talking about RM3. YOu can see the really old damage, the up on the next node you see what has been happening over the past two days, and now today the node up from that got it's first spot. Also, this plant today just showed female at 13/11 so now I'm definitely invested in her. Getting her upcanned and gonna give her a dose of Jack's bloom. YOu think that she probably just needs more feeding than the rest?

The rest of the plant is looking green. Just worried about this necrosis.

004.jpgFigured it out. I was upcanning her anyways and I find she was rootbound. and spinning out a bit. Gonna give em another week or two now.

+rep to RM3 for walking me through the diagnosis.

extra points if you slice the root ball vertically a little bit, they'll spread out abit quicker when upcanned :D

My bottom leaves keep dying just like these and I can figure out why? Riddleme I have much respect for you and your knowledge, great thread that I think all new growers like me should read before attempting a grow. I am on my second grow and I have some kind of deficiency or something that keeps killing my bottom leaves, and they are growing slow for being 3 weeks old and i think whatever is causing my leaves to look like this is causing the slow growth. I am posting new pics up in my grow journal tonight so any advise of critics are welcomed.

The one I'm holding was the one that it was spreading to when I posted those pics up a few days ago. The one up a node and to the right is the new spreading from last night and today. The nute burned tips are old, I've already backed off the nutes.\

And for anyone interested, the necrosis problem I was having is still spreading. It isn't a lack of nutes. It isn't too much nutes. They are't rootbound (now). So I"m left with...maybe Ca lockout/deficiency? It has been almost three weeks since I last watered with epsom I believe and it was a light watering even then. Open to all opinions at this point cuz I ain't got a clue.

Looks like septoria which is a fungal disease caused by spores, it can translate into seeds, be carried by animals & humans and it can infect your whole garden

So now for prevention (J.C. Stitch, "marijuana Garden Saver"):

1) If you have affected leaves, cut them off and dispose. The affected leaves contain spores of the fungus and should be eliminated to stop it from spreading.
2) neem oil
3) copper fungicides, including Bordeaux mixture, can slow the disease
4) sulfur

Control:

- Bacillus Pumilis (beneficial bacteria)
- cinnamon and clove oils
- compost and compost tea
- copper
- coriander oil
- neem oil
- pH Up
- potassium bicarbonate
- sesame and fish oils
- sodium bicarbonate
- trichoderma (beneficial fungi)

Before I go chopping my grow down, I want to also point out that I am having a zinc deficiency on one of my other plants, just in case the issues could be related? If not I mind have to end the grow because it has spread quite a lot.

Meh. Nevermind. Just found another thread where I guy had the same problem for three grows before he figured it out. I had the same problem last grow and I never fixed it with nutes or epsom salt, so I just figured I was an uber noob. Lo-and-behold, he felt the same way. Thanks RM3, I would probably have torn my hair out and eventually gave up growing if I never figured that out.

My pain is everyone else's profit. Below I give you, Leaf Septoria in intervals.

The right most fan leaf is after three days from seeing the first spot. The middle is after about a week and a half, and the left most is probably after two and a half weeks. I've actually had this problem longer than that, the first node of fan leaves that had it I pulled off last week. So circa three and a half weeks the leaf is uber dead.

By the way, it spreads via every way possible, but via air is what got me. So, quarantine if possible. If you saw a whole picture of my setup, you'd see that she was the worst in the opening of the tent flap where the air from outside blows in on her, and then the one directly behind her was also really bad. I had a plant that was in a corner away from direct streams of air from my two fans and I only ended up removing just a couple of leaves, while the rest are pretty rough.

Have you checked your pH lately? Your leaves seem to have classic pH spotting. More than likely your pH is too high. Happy Growing!

Great thread Riddles! Subbed and following your methods now. I already said it in your "Flushing" thread, but it turns out I've been making it rain without even knowing it! I have 9 bag seeds in an uber stealth freezer convert at about week 6 (5 inch pots). 8 of them are good and strong, but the 9th (named #1 because it was the first seed to germinate) is a friggin' redwood; it's only about 5 inches high but has almost 6 sets of alternating leaves... pretty sure it's Indica the way it's growing.

About 10 days ago ago, I noticed about half of my crop was looking droopy and all were dry to about 4 inches. My grow conditions are pretty unique (I'm gonna try to get a journal going once I get a stealth opportunity), but suffice to say I'm growing in a converted freezer where the temps go from 68-80/Night-Day and the humidity goes 60%-10% /Night-Day. The exhaust system I have in place does total odor control but the combination of the negative pressure inside the freezer and the awesome exhaust I built makes for pretty dry days. When I first noticed the dry surface soil and the droopy leaves, I immediately watered until I had a ton of runoff. The next day, I checked on them and the surface was dry again. It had been almost 2 weeks since I fed, and I saw some yellowing on the initial lower leaves, so I dosed them good with my own nute mix (a blend of 1/4 strength FloraNova Grow, 1/2 strength Neptune's Harvest Fish Seaweed Blend, and 1 teaspoon/gal Grandma's unsulfured molasses) until they just barely drained... It's only been about a week and while there hasn't been any "ridiculous" vertical growth, I'm seeing an increase in nodes and a much smaller internode space than I'm used to. Also, the stems themselves are getting really thick... One question though. Will my plants always look droopy when I'm making it rain? Will I begin to see rigidity again in the petiole?

Again, awesome thread... Rep++

Also, when I saw this thread name, I thought you wrote it just for me :)

Then highly unlikely it is ph issues....they very rarely occur in soil .....too many people wanna jump to that conclusion simply because they do not know what it really is....in soil should be the last problem considered as it is that rare....hope it helps...think RM3 got it right myself

Anyone else had to deal with Septoria before? It keeps spreading. I'm wondering if this fungicide with neem oil is working. At this rate I won't have any damn fan leaves left half way through flower....
