i can see why he doesn't post too often here anymore... the same questions over and over again....6500k = veg
2500-3000k = flower

i think its best to use a mixture the whole way through 3:2 ration on 6500 to 2700

Sorry man but, im not understanding this. I do understand that 6500k= Veg & 2500-3000k = Flowering, but in the book he starts off with 1 42 watt and then he adds at a later stage another 7 42 watts. So does the 42 watt CFL's come in both Red & Blue Spectrum? All i can get at my shop is 35 watt CFL's which is 6400k, so would i need to get 5 of these and 3 2700k? I know its being asked before, but i cant find the answer to it and it does not say in the book if it switch's bulbs or not.

Thanks again.

Hey Greenstuff, and welcome to our forum. There are several cfl growers in this forum. One of them, Humbolt is even mentioned in SeeMore's book. You may want to read thru some of those and check with those folks. I have been around his forum for a while and if GK is not giving you an answer it is not because he won't, its just because he is busy. I understand your frustration, you will have to do some research. I have never used the cfl's, I use t-5's and I use a 50/50 mixture of red and blue bulbs, decent results. VV:blsmoke:

Saw the sticky and had to post. I downloaded this book and was so impressed that I bought it. Nice attention to detail throughout!!! You CFL boys are getting retarded with this shyt! Giant strides since I've last read up on it. I think I need to play with CFLs for a while...with and w/o my 400w hps.

Hopefully this post is taken as constructive criticism.

I just got finished looking through this book and I hate to say it but it's not that good. It's really just a photo journal with about 8 pages of actual information on HOW to grow.

Worst of all it's missing vital newbie information like sourcing of materials and the instructions on building the light fixture are incomplete. For instance it tells you to cut the extension cord and attach wires to light sockets but never actually tells you to connect the extension cord to those wires much less how. I can only guess what other information is missing.

There's a lot of filler like quotes and info copied from wikipedia (credit is given) but there's just not a lot of good info for a beginner like myself.
The last time I checked, it was a grow journal, not Growing Marijuana for Dummies. Next time you might want to critique the proper newbie book, such as one of the twenty on amazon.com.

Yes, all the information you need is on the internet.. you can even get a wife or a baby on the internet.. you can get anything on the internet...

hehe. Don't read too much into him, GK, he's merely jealous of the success of others...namely yourself. Loved your come back, tho, hehe. :peace:

very interesting coming from a guy with 6 posts... lol...
and when you posted your criticism you only had 1 post...

c'mon? what gives...? what's your angle?

I appreciate your criticism..
Sometimes there is no angle, just someone giving their opinion. I'll assume that you have read the rest of the posts in this thread so I don't need to restate that I rescinded my initial criticism...

The last time I checked, this wasn't a book club. If you were going to slam the author on his own forum, and then rescind your critique, you should not have posted anything. Nothing worse than people who whine about the success of others.

Dudes he has already made this right, give him his props for owning up, there has not been anything rude from this person, he stated an early opinion, did some further research and admitted he may have been hasty. I have been known to make a mistake or two with an opinion, haven't we all. Admitted, done lets move on please. VV

So you're saying you have more right to voice your opinion(s) than someone with less posts than you?

How far back was that post anyway? Seems like you're the one stirring it up. It was already over.

Is that your defense...? If so, the defense should rest. If you were aware of your surroundings, Kludge posted a response on 06-17-08. If he responded first, Mr. Wizard, how was I 'stirring up the pot'? I love it when law enforcement comes here and tries to start sh*t.

Defense... I'm not defending myself or anyone else??? I'm just observing what is happening.

You're stirring because it was over and we all moved on... until you dug it up!

I love it when law enforcement comes here and tries to start sh*t
I think you're projecting.
