Hm. I'm just in the bath
I'll take a pic of my setup. I run 2 pots. One filled with water with a heating mat underneath on a controller, then the vac chamber inside that pot. Keeps temps more stable.
Could just be the material ? I duno. Seems off to me tho.

the 4-5 hour wait to flip will b done here around 8 & so ill get the temps checked without the lid on then.

That’s exactly how im doing mine except that im using a 5x5 magnetic stirrer hot plate.

If you smoke a joint of it and it tastes poopie when you make concentrate well you're concentrating the poopie too and it'll taste poopie x100.
Lot of the time old outdoor weed that hasn't been stored properly, can taste like burnt rubber, piss, ammonia(piss I guess), burnt hair, all kinds of lovely flavours....

4-5hr wait to flip? Are you flipping it over and over? I just flip once. When it's flat it's done
The more you flip the more air you put into it it and then re vac it out just agitating the slab. I'm a firm believer in less agitation the better.

This article says to flip it every 4-5 hours for the first 24 to 48 hours and for the last 24 hours to flip it every 10-12 hours.

Do you mean your material column has a ball valve at the bottom? And you're wanting to blast into it while the valve is closed?

Yes i did blast the first half can in it wothout it being open, did that make the solvent soak the bud too much u think? Or not enough?

Nah you're good. Some people let it soak for a while. I've tried a time or two. Supposedly if you let it soak too long can start pulling unwanted plant stuff like chlorophyll. The biggest issue is if the column is really cold the lipids can gelatinate, which is good, but they can also clog up your filter. Which was the issue I had.

Also I usually don't flip my paddy unless it seems like it really needs it after a few days in the vac oven. Typically I don't mess with at all until I think it's finished, then make the call to put it back in if it's a little tacky.

Heres some of the material, now i have done three 45 gram runs and trashed the end product and i only have enough for about one more run as we’ve smoked on quite a bit of it. Lol!!!

That dark color is coming from either too much heat or your filters aren't working very well.

Gotta b the filter cause it looks that dark as soon as it hits the ptfe in the corningware dish.

Do i put the filter in between the material and screen or in between the screen and end cap?
