While I do agree with you, I have ladybugs multiplying daily with fall coming up. I prefer them keeping me pest free over a spider making a web by one of my budlets. My fear of spiders is real from being bitten by one as a kid!

Side note about gardening in general. I planted broccoli for the first time this year. New leaves would pop out, 2 days later, eaten to shreds. Just figured broccoli didn't work here, so I dismissed it.
But I started to notice a shitload of white moths hanging out in my garden. Thought nothing of it until one day I saw a bunch land in the leaves over 10 minutes.
Looked it up. Sure enough, these moths are droping eggs on the leaves, and those eggs become cabbage worms. And those little things can chow down on some broccoli leaves. And shit on them too!

I started my first garden this summer, and those moths are all over that family of plants. Kale, cabbage, broccoli, etc. Luckily they seem happy laying eggs on those plants and are leaving the cannabis alone. I think BT spray will take care of it on the veggies, i still have mixed feelings about spraying anything (organic or not) on something im going to smoke and inhale the smoke. funny things happen when you vaporize chemicals, even organic ones. Organic tobacco can still cause cancer lol.

The only thing my plants get are love. Absolutely no pesticides allowed!!

Next year I tackle that family of veggies and dominate.

I think it's really difficult to combat the moths without spraying. They lay so many eggs so fast, and they hatch really quick and turn from tiny yo huge REALLY quick. From my research the best without spraying involves good soil preperation, repellent ground cover and netting. I'll keep up and we'll share our strategies for next year, i like all those kinds of veggies and would love to grow them.

I have been growing flowers and vegetables since I can remember. The fastest mass bloomer I witnessed before my first cannabis grow were impatiens. Those things are explosive with sun and regular daily watering.

My babies are showing off now. The bud size growth, the frost, the smell. Each of these characteristics are spreading at a pace like I have rarely seen. Daily I am seeing bigger bud structure just waiting to resin up. I am seeing the ocassional bloated cylax, so I know the real bud production is already underway.

As a newbie to cannabis growing, I could not be more happy, and proud, of my efforts to date. Here are a few pictures from today.

I was able to eliminate it, but it was the first bug I have seen make a home on my plants. I assume vigilance needs to be stepped up now during this bud stage. I encourage spiders to make homes on my plants. They are amazing predators and they will eat aphids.
The bigger spiders can will eat moths and other nasty things

I still won't use pesticides On my garden either. Hot pepper sprays work awesome....you still get a bit of munching but nothing too bad.
This is a cucumber plant...not a pumpkin lol (same soil mix as my girls)

And on the 8th day they were feed! And they rejoiced!!

It has been that long since I could give some feeding time to my girls. They have withstood the 2 weeks of drenching storms, and they are thriving. The favorable weather of sun, with little humidity and temps staying in the low 70s, has really provided the perfect environment for my plants. I could not be more pleased with where they are today. Here are the latest pics:

We are having a perfect stretch of weather for bud explosion in SE Wisconsin. Days with sun and temps in the 70s. Nights down to the high 50s. Nice wind off Lake Michigan...couldn't be better!!

I have some real bulk forming on my big girl. Lil sis is working it too, but my amazon girl is a beast!! Here are some current state pics from this morning:

I can imagine how amazingly beautiful it is up by you this week. How are the fall colors coming? I'm thinking of heading out this weekend to pick some Macintosh apples with the kids.

Going into my first grow I had no idea what to expect. While I knew she would be thick, I never imagined she would grow to 7ft tall!! And full of flowers, just everywhere imaginable on this plant.

Here is a full profile pic. Note, she has two main tops, with many, many additional branches that are also behaving as tops. The colas on the tops are 10-12 inches tall, with bud from top to bottom!!

My hard work this summer is finally showing! Although I am really happy that I have a secondary push of my tomatoes and cukes this year, I am thrilled with my big girl. Her sister is catching up, but she cannot compete with what big girl is doing. I am really starting to look forward to my first harvest in a few weeks or so!!

Any caterpillars getting into your buds? They've been driving me nuts, picking out 2-5 every day it seems like.

Not a one. Never see them on my property, actually. I did have squirrels dive bomb my remaining corn and damage a couple of shoots on my smaller girl. Lower ones, thankfully. Now my garden smells like vinegar and pepper to keep them off my shit.

I am one more squirrel misstep from using live ammo on them. Just don't need cops called, obviously.
