well i hear that you can go chem nutes for the veg period and then flush out and use organics for flowering.being that there are chems starting off the soil is dead and then bring life into the soil when budding begins? does that work?

Now the girls have been flowering for 32 days and they are still mostly happy. When I returned form California on the 21st (left on the 14th) they had suffered a bit of a cal-mag issue but that got remedied by a simple adjustment of the ph. I added some dolomite lime to my soil and the ph issue was corrected within 2 or so days. Now they are back on track and getting stinky. 5 of the plants appear to be the same strain as far as scent goes and 1 is different. All five have alot of trichomes but the 1 that is different has no trichomes yet but smells great, fruitty. The other 5 smell like a skunk mix.

Btw my trip to Cali and back with mary was uneventful. I left WA (SEA-TAC) with an 1/8 of blueberry wraped in stretch-tite and shoved in my bra and landed in Cali (LAX), no problems, not very stinky. I left LAX with some sensi-star, very stinky, very paraniod wraped the same way and tucked in my bra with no problems as well. But every time i moved the scent wafted into my nose.....taht made me sweat a bit. I did arrive home all safe with my star to share. Risky business.

Those are some beautiful looking plants. I wish I had colas that big lol. Anyway kudos to the airplane smuggling. I wanted to take some blueberry I had with me out to ski in Utah last year but the only time I've seen dogs at an airport was in SLC so I decided not to risk it...of course when I got there, no dogs anywhere...oh well. Good luck and Happy growing.

Definitely a a few are a sativa strain judging on the skinniness and lack of bushy stalks. Gonna be a good treat when those are harvested.

Perhaps this thread should be in the grow journals forum, but not sure how to move the whole thing over there. Hopefully ya'll are just droping by to see the progress.

Well as time passes the 6 unknown strains have each taken on different scents, which in the beginning I thought there were only 2 different strains. From totally skunky to fruity and musky inbetween, these strains so far are stinkin up my apartment. The tops are starting to lean from the weight, it makes me smile when they gain weight, they are turning into little chubs.

I have recently cut out using the Flora Nova (full feeding system 4-8-7) and continued with molasses, Roots organics bloom (0-5-4) , Cal-Mag (2-0-0) and, Shooting Powder (0-39-25). The 2% nitrogen in the cal-mag replaces the 4% nitrogen of the Flora Nova, which at this point in flowering is okay for the plants.

Comments and pointers are always welcome, Bra Smith.

Wow, thanks Rocafella! Lets see I am at 51/2 weeks now, so I'll feed them for 2 more weeks then flush for about 10 days, so around Nov. 25th (61days) will be the day the girls get it. Next week (tues) I'll start testing the lil nugs one plant at a time till i've tried all 6. They are labled plant 1-6. Thanks again.

Yet another update on the girls.

Each unknown has a name now. Their names are One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six. The first pic is of One and Two (the 2 in the front), second pic is Three and Four, and the third pic is of Five and Six.

My son and I have tested each plant. 5 plants are ready for harvest and 1 plant is not, Six has a way to go yet.

Trichomes are all in various stages of color and the hairs are starting to turn fairly rapidly.

The plants that are giving the head high are Two and Four. The stoney or body high is from One, Three, and Five.

Most of the plants give off a citris scent, 1 plant reeks of skunk (Four) and another (One) smells just like how bubblegum tastes, yummy, makes me feel like chewing it.

BTW, how long did you veg your six ladies for? They look Sativaish & I have a Hawaiian Snow seed just sprouting now, but have read that Sativa's can grow to 12 foot tall?

Am going to chop the rest off my three babies tonight too...

Thanks as always...

Thanks Muffin. No reason to be jealous;-). When I watched your thread I was wishin mine looked like yours:peace:.....perhaps the feelings on pot plant envy are universal for this site, thinkin they are. I'm sure you've read this somewhere on RIU; Every grow you do will be better than the last.

glad you dropped back by to check this out.

Btw, I took down one plant the other day because it was turning a perfect amber color and was ready. It was plant One and damn she is perfect. Only 1 dry ounce was the yield. So clearly she is a low yielding, very dense, and extremely sticky strain. Not a whole lot of bud but very heavy bud came from her.

I'll post a pic later of it. I have this awsome camera but not so good at close ups yet. Have fun, Muffin.....Kathy

I think I have about 2 Oz per plant which I am pretty happy with, just started smoking the first batch I cut & have to say it is very nice...

There were not that many amber trics, mostly cloudy, but I could not let them go any longer as all the leaves had literally fallen off, love them :~)

Any joy with the pic?

Try Macro mode on your camera, sorry if you have already tired this... My camera is pretty old skool & is only 3.2 Meg, but with macro enabled, the close ups are pretty good...

Cheers

So here are a couple of pics of one of the nugs from plant One. She was ready to get it. This is all I have left of this first plant, shared alot knowing had more left, my "people" really liked it

Muffin you asked in one of your posts how long i vegged these plants, they went 3 weeks in veg on an 18/6 lighting schedule, 5 nodes. There reason i veg all the grows to 3 weeks is because of the height restrictions inside my closet. About 3 out of the 6 plants do have a very strong sativa influence (thin leaves), however they also stay short so the indica shows in that way.

Hope ya'll enjoy the nug:weed:

Ya know 2 ounces per plant is a great yield! especially for your first grow. My first grow was nasty. About 4 grams off the whole thing and it was 4 feet tall:clap::clap::clap::o:hump:. The weed form it was so bad, no one would take it off my hands, not even for free, lol, but i learned alot especially "how NOT to grow weed"

Have fun

Thanks for the vegging info Brasmith, these bad boys are pure sativa though, so not sure how tall they will get? Maybe I should have stuck with an another indica or even a cross before I attempted a pure sativa. The wheels are now in motion so no going back...

I have also just noticed that what I thought was a 250 HPS Bulb is actually a 400w HPS bulb.

The ballast states 250w on the side but the bulb is 400w.

I always thought that each ballast was made pacifically for a certain wattage bulb, ie 250w Ballast for a 250w Bulb & 400w Ballast for a 400w Bulb?

Maybe not.

Your buds look cool by the way :~)
