ive really never liked anything with blue tbh.. it was always a cbd feeling to me... the only one that really had me stoned was some blue og from g13 labs..
I've enjoyed several "blues" just depends, I grew a blue kush that was fantastic but for some strange reason was only exceptional when grown hydro. Blueberry from ace seeds I think it was, fantastic. Blue dream from one cut can be fantastic or horribad depending on the cut.

I think the OP is def to blame here but also unfortunate seed selections.

I really like TGA (subcool) seeds, I'd pass on his ace of spades but go for the others. Nothing really wrong of ace of spades but I think it's more prone to issues from bugs or mold an the OP doesnt need that in his life.

Go for the OG winners, regardless seeds. Skip the new ish.

I never really liked blue window when I had it even from excellent growers.
This was my first time smoking it. It’s weak and seems pretty much all indica. The plants were very short with very fat leaves. Basically no stretch in flower. Taste is nice on one pheno which is very frosty. It’s got a blueberry hashy flavor that lasts through the entire bowl. Smells like berry, herby, pepper. Looks attractive. Smells strong and the taste really came through for me. It’s something I’ve been working on in recent harvest. Just a shit buzz for sure. A bit early too. Was the blue widow you smoked an indica buzz?

What about cracklings or tiny seeds?

Yes and I'm a indica fan. It's just weak when I had it. Plenty of mid to high 20's thc% indicas. Tga is hybrid plants.

Northern lights is a classic. Super skunk. Go with the old winners. Always regular seeds.

On one of the phenos, id say maybe every other bowl crackles a few times in first hit. It’s nice actually being able to get a smooth bowl off it. Not too terrible in the crackle department but still not acceptable. The other pheno is heavier on the crackle. Smoked 7-8 or so bowls of it. Only 2 bowls didn’t crackle on first hit. Sometimes the second hit will give a last crackle with this pheno. The jack 47 is crackle city

I’m mainly a hybrid..sativa hybrid guy but have enjoyed many indica. MK Ultra being one of my all time favorite smokes.

also loved the white rhino (medicine man) haven’t grown these strains but I’ll take an indica as long as it has some heady effects to go with it. I’m torn between new school and old school. Mr nice or Bodhi. Karma seeds? I want something proven and capable of winners but need it to be to compete with newer strains in potency. I’ve been lookkkg at black widow and g13/widow from mr nice and maybe mango widow. Was looking at Sensi seeds. They have a lot of the classics. I made the assumption the super skunk and NL and others had been surpassed too much by newer crosses. I could be wrong though. Somethjng tells me super skunk, a good northern lights, white widow, ak47 etc. will produce more stability and decent potency but not sure about the knockout power

I dont think newer is better. Anything from the last 10 years is great. But some of the newest stuff is done by horrible breeding practices and is pollen chucked not breeding. That's why some of this shit is not going well. I only grow the old stuff and it really puts smiles on faces.

Quick update on the four under the fluorescents. Growth is good. Going to swap out some more of the 6500 knfor the 2500 k tomorrow. I really like the way they look under the cfl. Last time I had them finish with the 6500k t5 and the redneck cardboard reflector with a mix of cfl spectrums and the bud was really good with a few of the strains. Every now and then I’d switch the plant from being under one of the lights to the other. 29 days in for three of the plants and 4 days in 12/12 for the extra small blue widow. Front row left is blue widow. Right is deep cheese. Both plants in back are dinachem. There’s 600 watts of fluorescent right on top of these plants and it gets nowhere near as warm as the 600;watt hps in a bigger open room. These Fluor girls are in a closet with a much weaker fan blowing on them. No heat issues at all so that settles the watt for watt heat output debate between fluorescent and hps for me. I’m sure there will be a difference in bud weight but I honestly suspect the Flurescent bud will be a bit more potent. Call me crazy but..ATTACH=full]4285809[/ATTACH]E9FDE7C7-9076-4CB5-BB2C-55FC16D2756C.jpeg

One of the fluorescent plants ( the plant from back right from above post) under the hps light and closer for a better look somewhat. I have the watering rack set up on the other side of the hps. And the next pic is the back row plants right before lights out. Currently using two separate rooms for the lighting experiment. I’ll add pics of the 2 jacks and the other blue widow under the hps once I chop the jacks I have going still in a few days. It’s a bit crowded in there and I want to really feature the newer flowering girls. Currently having to move the Fluor plants over to room with other girls for lights out as my portable heater took a dump and I have to get another one for that room66AE6E5A-625B-4BA9-B46A-B3EC5732DBF1.jpegB049B7DB-AA36-43B0-B7F1-F7A09A621568.jpeg

Side note on the blue widow. My neighbors tried it and liked it. A younger married couple. He said it was pretty good and she seemed to enjoy it more. Eyes red, unlike mine. Lol. It’s a weird body buzz, slight head buzz..kind of rolls around..come and goes almost in waves for a few hours. Definitely different. Is good for late night but that’s about it

Well, finally placed my order for bodhi at Great Lakes Genetics. Got a pack of Phone Home (triangle Kush x Wookie). Had 6 strains to choose from as free pack in the buy one get one. I chose a pack of Soul Mate (Gogi og pine soul x Wookie). Seeds were ten dollars cheaper a pack than Seedsman and attitude and less money for shipping and all that. Basically, I’m paying 77$ for two packs of Bodhi Seeds. That includes shipping. Total score and glad I stumbled onto this seed bank through this forum earlier. Super pumped. Just have to send the money order to Michigan (glad this is USA company) and I’m good to go. Will be quicker than overseas as well. Quicker..cheaper. Can’t beat it

Quick update on the grow. Only been a few days. All is well. The cheese is about to start going into higher gear. Day 31 12/12;except the two blue widows less than a week in. Two jack 47 and a blue widow under the hps and the others under the fluorescents.FAEA26D8-67E2-4042-BB0A-853BB6CAAB53.jpegB119283F-115F-42ED-9829-DA06481ADD20.jpegFAEA26D8-67E2-4042-BB0A-853BB6CAAB53.jpeg B119283F-115F-42ED-9829-DA06481ADD20.jpeg

Nice man they are looming happy!
Yea, they’re loving life. I learned from the last round with the chems and the jacks that they love nitrogen for the first 5-6 weeks 12/12. They’re on veg nutes still but adding top dress of flower food next watering and ease into the liquid flower nutes. I’ve noticed all my plants do much better if I veg feed them atleast three weeks into 12/12

that could be it!????? when a plant is seeded or ppl are making there crosses they say a plant needs more nitrogen to produce seeds or because its pregnate... by you giving veg nutes all the way to 5-6 maybe the ovules are swelling or treating it like it has a seed in turn making the ovule bigger and crackle! makes sense to me for sure.... stop giving veg nutes at week 2 and go with a straight bloom formula keep the nitro low after week two... i bet your ovules disapear.... ??? what you think?
