Now since you and many others don’t get the crackles I’m going to assume there is an additional factor behond it just being due to fem seeds. In general, a lot of guys I’ve been talking to and getting to dissect their weed have noticed the larger ovules in their fem bud but only a random dude here and there gets the crackle which is not like an immature seed crackle. I’ve been smoking weed for 25 years and know the tiny immature seed crackle and slight taste. This is the ovules for sure. I’ve gathered a bunch..put them on the tool box and run a flame over them. Some of them crackle and some don’t. Maybe 1 out of 15 or so if I hadn’t to guess. I could be wrong but I do think fem seeds can more often produce the large ovule bud and something I’m doing must really be making the issue an actual issue. Have noticed it to be a bit worse with sativa dominants

They dint taste like seed but they can sort of dull the flavor if you get more than a few of them to crackle like in the first hit of a bowl. It dulls the taste and adds a touch more musk or something that’s not horrible but it throws it off. Makes it not taste as good for a hit here and there

the pics aren't bad, but not very useful, a trich head will look milky when seen from above, but when seen from the side, the same head can be seen to actually still be clear. you have to look at them from an angle, and make sure that it's not reflected light from the base of the stalk making the head seem milky. you know your plants, if you say that plant has done it's bulking up, then i guess it has, as soon as a few more pistils recede and you like the trich ratio, go for it...

It really sounds to me like those strains must have gotten mixed up with some high CBD/LOW THC strains? Your pictures of your buds look fine. Did you compare pictures of each plant/strain to other pictures of know strains? Just because the label says "Heinz ketchup" doesn't mean it really is!

here’s more closeup. You can see many trichs from the side view angle. Lots of amber. Still I do think this plant needed another week atleast. Could just be shit phenos. Blue widow isnsaid to average 12-14% the and low CBd. So not the strongest strain but seems to get a lot of decent reviews in forums. The jack 47;which is said to regularly test at over 20% the and I think close to 2% CBd is even weaker. Been a very disappointing grow. Should have let everything go longer but they shouldn’t be this weak either. I mean..it’s not like I cut em at day 45 and still all clear

The blue widow is said to be a lower thc like 12-14% but low CBd too. Plants grew like description and does have a blueberry taste in there. The Dinachem I grew is weak and took about 80:days to get mostly cloudy. It’s very weak.i grew dinachem last run. 3 females and they were all pretty good and finshed 70-75 days. The dinachem this time has same growth pattern and smell..same kind of taste. The plant is definitely same strain as last time. This time it looked to be on track to finish same time frame but stalled out on trichomes maturation like all the rest of my plants this grow. Buds pumped..pistils red, calyxes swoll and clear trichs that shined like diamonds until after day 70. Couldn’t get it as mature as last ones but even the last ones were much better in early samples so something just happened bad to my grow this time around

Awesome, there’s a big part of me that wants to go with mr nice cause the history behind them and the work put into a lot of their strains. At this point, I’m not going to choose just by my preference of high based off strain description but by stability, known quality and proven over time type strains. I just want something that’s very potent and has a shot of finishing in 70 days or less. Not too crazy of stretch. I’ve been looking at g13 x widow, black widow and mango widow. Would be nice to be able to have the time and space for the super silvers or the mango haze to do a selection as I’ve heard great things about them. What’s the most potent you’ve come across from them?

you have better eyes than i do, i can hardly tell the condition of those at all, look like mostly milky with some clears shining through to me..

There are tons of strains that finish in under 70 days when you actually count flower time correctly....

You are still talking about your plants saying try went 70-80 days but they did not. They went 50-60 days more likely from what you've said. Flower time begins at the time the plant starts to form flowers.....

Unless a breeder specifies that it is an amount of 12/12 time. Then flower time starts when the plant makes flower! Getting the plants to finish as quickly as possible means getting your environment as dialed in as possible.

At Seedsman, which is where I order my seeds, they have many mr nice strains at like 35$ for an 18 pack. Over 50% off. I’m guessing close to being too old of seeds, but I may just grab some. Maybe pay the ill price for g13 widow or black widow and get the mango widow which is one of the ones that is over 50% off.

Lol yes trichs change after chop. The amber comes from THC degrading in the trichs. That absolutely will happen from you handling the buds and messing with then. It happens from light exposure.

Messing with the buds while the are growing will destroy the trichomes. Maybe we need to cover that? How much did you fuck with these plants looking of ovules and stuff?

Right. Let me be more correct. I’m looking for something that finishes in 8-9 weeks..so that would be like 70-80 days from 12/12. I need to drill it in my head, but yea i can say that Kali China from ace seeds was done at 9 weeks from 12/12 when they said 9 weeks flower. I mean done with the colas being about half amber. The high was supreme and one that I miss a lot. It truly was a smoke that nobody could complain about and gave me a lot of confidence as a grower. It got you high as a kite every time for months. Smoked it all day everyday. The other breeders seemed to fall along the lines of what you’re saying. they are counting down from the start of flowers beginning to form.

, LoL..I was big on never touching the growing buds before the ovule issue. I would get angry when an old roommate would brush agaist them. I’d bitch at him..”you’re going to make the hairs turn red, asshole”. Lol. I’ve gone way paranoid about the plants in recent times. Not all plants got ripped apart and calyxes plucked everywhere. Just every other plant, I’d take one or two calyx/bracht whatever it is from a plant and check. Maybe every week or two I’d take a couple of them individually from a plant. Always from an area at a node at base of a bud if you know what I mean. They kind of stand out alone more. I don’t dig into actual bud mass

Been a fan and customer for years. Had a haze from their Walkabout pack that would knock your socks off. But that I've grown out recently I'd say Black Widow was the most potent. I currently have a single G13xWidow growing. Only survivor from a 12 year old seed pack. Hope it's a female.

They have a strain mix called Dreamtime that has a variety of indoor plants. I am growing those plants right now. Ones I recognized are skunk, haze, northern lights. Good price too.

Nice. Thanks for that input . Does the black widow got a decent head effect with the body. I like euphoria..that little rush when you first smoke. Like the giggles..etc. Does it stand up decent to the more modern Kush varieties, cookies, etc? As much as I’d like to grow the Kushes,o.g.s and cookies and all the fancy shit, just hear too many conflicting reports about the grows and stability. Guess you get this to a certain extent if you dig into any forum long enough about any breeder or strain. Rare Dankness had many OG crosses that caught my eye but then ran into some forums that scared me off last night. Lol. Wanted to run MK Ultra or ultra sour from th seeds. Looking at forums and searching for bad reports scared me off those as well. I’d like to try Bodhi Black triangle but I don’t want to spend more than 100$ on beans. You get 11 seeds for 90$ With bodhi. I count for two being possible dud seeds and a poor female/male ratio. In my head, i prepare for 3 females out of an 11 pack. With mr nice you get 18 for same price and a better chance at finding the good keeper

Note...the blue widows are getting me a little high today. Well noticed last night. Been about a month since chop. It’s more a lazy feeling..a lighter body buzz that hits a bit in the chest and makes you want to just sit down. It’s like the back end of a high from a better strain. Not much of a heady buzz. That goes away quick. If I was a beginner smoker it would probably be nice. I’d recommend it for a first timer. It makes me want better weed. Such a tease. I usually get Lifted from 3 to 4 hits of good weed. I smoke a litttle more than half gram of this in two small bowls to feel a half ass whatever buzz that starts to come a little at the end of the first bowl...after about 4 nice big hits. Smoke the next bowl and I don’t get much higher. I just get that relief feeling psychologically and a little body chill that lets me know I smoked weed. Keeps the anxiety away if I let it. Just so so weak. I’d compare it’s potency to that of Mexican brick weed from back in the 90s that I smoked in highschool. The kind that looked like shit and had seeds all through it usually. My blue widow differs in that instead of the cheap brick weed head/headache high, you get a cheap lame body high. Both equally disappointing. jack is way early I’ve decided and it wasn’t very frosty (the one I showed a pic of). It is a nothing feeling with a slight tug at the eyes for about 20 mins after smoking.

I never really liked blue window when I had it even from excellent growers.
