Hello again everyone! :bigjoint:I posted here a few months ago about a couple of plants that were just starting up.

I was concerned that one was growing significantly slower than the other. az2000 very quickly pointed out that it was just genetics which turned out to be 100% the case.

Since then, I've had some difficulties... First being that I couldn't get my hands on the nutrients that I wanted.

I'm a really big fan of Advanced Nutrients for many reasons but particularly for their PH Perfect Technology.

If anyone remembers back in December when I posted originally, I said that I wanted the whole project to cost less than $100. Seeing how a ph kit and tester would put me WAY over, PH Perf was my only hope.

I'm in Canada, which means 2 things. 1) $100 dollars doesn't go very far and 2) it's impossible to find stuff.

I had an unusually hard time finding AN here for whatever reason so the ladies went their entire veg without nutes and just untreated, filtered water. I think it's safe to assume the water was at least a little bit too acidic.

When I finally did find it, they were already at least 2 months in veg because I decided not to switch to flower until I had the AN Bloom to give them.

By today, 3 months and 9 days since my last post, I've discarded 2 of my 4 plants as they were male, leaving just my two ladies.

Allow me to introduce them:IMG_2947.JPGThis is the oldest one. As you can see, leaving her in veg for 2 months caused her to nearly outgrow the space I have for them so I started LST just under a week ago.

I wanna point out all the missing leaves, tho I'm sure you didn't miss it haha they started to die a while back, then eventually just fell off. I'm sure there's a myriad of reasons why this might've happened, unfortunate.IMG_2953.JPG
First question: do you think these will still turn into buds? It kinda looks like they might!

Here's the second one, a couple weeks younger. As you can see, she's not doing very well... She's starting to flower, but just like her big sister, all the lower leaves died and fell off.

Second question: it seems as though this little one's leaves are dying from the bottom up, towards the only seemingly healthy part left. Think there's any hope for her? Maybe now that she's got nutes she'll recover?

Another thing I should mention is that in anticipation of the AN Bloom in the mail, I switched their lights to 2700K. This was probably a big mistake as I didn't get the Bloom for at least another week or two, so they were still on a 24hr no dark cycle but with 2700K lights. Big deal?

Here's some more pictures:

Looks like nitrogen deficiency in these lower branches, I'm hoping that'll clear up now that she's gettin fed.

Question number three:

What's up with this one leaf that looks like it's showing manganese deficiency? It's the only one I can see like it

That's about it, in addition to the 3 questions, I'd love to hear any tips you guys might have. I'll also be watching this thread so I'll reply and answer any questions as quickly as I can. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, kinda rude but ok. I don't really want to start over until they're harvested or dead, do you have any useful advice as to how I might keep the bigger one alive (if you think it'll die)? Or at the very least a guess at why the leaves fell off so I know for next time?

Its just a waste of time to grow those.. You'll get like a half eight of some really bad weed you're not going to want to smoke. Next time be prepared before you start. Buy pH drops you don't need a pen..

Where you ripped the leaves off, nothing will grow...

Nothing recovers during the flowering cycle.. Only in veg and that's because it grows new leaves.

PH is off..

TBH completely honest here...I see a myriad of issues...P and K deficiency. yes manganese and boron and calcium deficiencies, all of which indicates improperly ph'd water and medium imbalance, major stretch from having the cfls not nearly as close as they could be. And so as not to come off as complete asshole I will stop there.

Dude, I do not mean to be nasty or harsh. I do not want to insult you or your grow. It was as successful as the amount of time, effort, and cultivation knowledge you put into it. You can do much better. If you truly have a desire to grow quality cannabis...challenge yourself...read, study, and learn. Save some $ and buy better equipment. You do not need to sell your sister or anything to get thousands of dollars worth of shit. But, you do need better light, medium, food and fertilizer, ph meter, ventilation etc. You can do all of this on a small budget. But, it will require a good $300 to do it properly. Not that much when you consider the bags of other people's growz you are buying for $65/ eighth.

Good Luck and Great Growz.

Any grow that produces budz is a success even if it just a learning experience. She does not need to die, but unfortunately you are not going to yield any significant amount of dry product. Maybe a bowl or 2.

I think I'll try to keep it alive just for fun, (and the challenge) they're not my only plants. These are just a little experiment I tried to do, to see if I could grow a couple plants from some mystery seeds in my house for under $100. Apparently, I cant haha

Thanks for not goin to hard on me here

My other ones are actually doing very well, they're about to go into flower this week. I'm growing them at my buddy's place, he's got way more space for this sorta thing. Maybe I'll post some pics if he'll let me.

This exactly, I wanted to learn from this experience more than anything and let me tell ya I got more than I could've ever hoped out of it :)

I'm not sure I understand what your analogy is referring to...
Nothing to learn from that mess.. you can't even correct anything.. it's to far gone.. I just don't see any upside to trying to keep a sickly plant that won't ever produce anything alive.. you wanna practice? Start fresh and try not to let it get that bad. Buy a new light.. that would help you alot..

Bro, I've never seen anybody starve they're plant all the way into flower just because they couldn't find advanced nutrients.

-what i see is somebody with a 91 geo metro trying to put c116 race gas in the tank! It will run but no better then it does with regular gas, So why would you dump all that money into a plant that looks like that? Ever considered organic instead?

Alright, alright, calm yourselves. Firstly, as I said earlier, the point of this was to see what I could do in my own house under 100 bucks and maybe learn a thing or two in the process. I disagree with mr smiley there, I've learned a lot as a result of this little endeavor. Failing doesn't upset me in the least, I practically went in knowing I would. And as for your two-bit analogy, I still think I'm better off playing with a deflated ball for a while than if I never would've picked it up in the first place.

SPLFreak808, I can't see why you're so concerned about a ten dollar bottle of bloom... "all that money"? And it's not like I don't get to keep it, I didn't see an expiration date on it.

And one more time, may I remind you all that this is not just a sad attempt at growing that went horribly wrong. I have another 7 ladies that I'm tending to alongside my good friend and they are doing very well indeed.
This was just a cheap learning experience and it was fun!

Thank you to $bkbbudz$ for actually being supportive and helpful.

I too believe the grow was a success, a learning experience but still a success. Dude, I been growing with jacks all purpose FROM VEG TO FLOWER for yeeeears.... this stuff works... just wanted to hit you with that just in case you wanted to maybe try something new out... in regards to PH, idk much about it considering tap water around here is always at 6.7 so I ever need to do anything, even after adding my nutes. Anywho, charge it to the game boii. Buy some top quality seeds and start over fresh. Finish this grow tho it would be more of a waste to toss them out considering they're budding and you put time an effort into it. Might as well smoke the bunk bud haha... good luck bro. Try hitting your next grow with some form of recharge. I put that shit on everything lol
