I had the same issues with my dome. I wreked 3 my first try. I now allow them to pop up like an inch out of my plug then go right into my bucket. If your dome has vents you can open those as well....good luck

I am by no means an expert at all but yes...you can use the hps for the entire grow...MH would be ideal for vegging but you can even throw in some cfl's with the hps if you want. I am using just 1 hps and I have had great luck with it.

That all depends...small areas wont require as much as a large one but I guess the more light the better really. I have a tent thats 2x4 feet and I have only 1 plant right now and I am using a 150 watt hps....the light claims it can cover 9 square feet like 3x3.

I think most people will tell you HPS...i switched from flourecents to HPS with great results
