so now im at the stage of flowering and i think my plant is starting its bud cycle right now i just have the t-5 onit what is the best lights for budding?

I think most people will tell you HPS...i switched from flourecents to HPS with great results

I'm also a noob to this, I have a question. I only have 1ea. 400W HPS light for six plants and I'm planning on using just this one light for the entire growing process. Is that ok?

That all depends...small areas wont require as much as a large one but I guess the more light the better really. I have a tent thats 2x4 feet and I have only 1 plant right now and I am using a 150 watt hps....the light claims it can cover 9 square feet like 3x3.

I am by no means an expert at all but yes...you can use the hps for the entire grow...MH would be ideal for vegging but you can even throw in some cfl's with the hps if you want.
I am using just 1 hps and I have had great luck with it.
