I never placed it directly under the plant and still had great results. Air bubbles still move around in the water, think of a fish aquarium. Truthfully, I don't think it matters.

I think the heat from the 400W HPS might damage those fans. Having used those fans in cases before, I can tell you they are crap and can fail without warning, especially when exposed to intense heat. Never again on those fans. good luck, let us know how it turns out. and through a scrubber...

That stuff has no moisture control, and I think it already has perlite in it if I'm not mistaking. Start over, throw that stuff out and spend the extra couple of bucks for some decent soil. good luck.

I always have luck within a few days. Nice, dark leaves, stemming from a thick stem. Doesn't take any more time than to root some clones. If the plant is genetically female, it has no chance of becoming male or hermy. imho. ciao!
