hi guys can i join? i dont think its been mentioned before but i'm reading at work so could of missed it. i ordered canna coco but i was sent canna coco professional. does anyone know the difference? i rang the shop but i dont entirely trust thw lady who i spoke to. she said it already contained nutrients. if this is true should i just pop my seeds in the coco and water with plain water? i must confess i am v worried as this is my first "proper" grow. i've got 20 femenized great white shark from greenhouse seeds. i intend to veg under a 400 watt mh. and flower under 600 watt hps. (both with cool tube) i was thinking of using 10 litres pots. would these be o.k? im gratefull to any one who can help. thanks. oh have i got enough light? or do you think i should get another 600 involved?

What PH do you run J?

Mared tells me he runs between 5.9 and 6.1, I think he said.

I started at 5.5 and am currently running 5.65, at ~3 weeks 12/12, and slowly increasing.

Just wondered what you run at throughout you grows, cos I'm sure you've tried and tested different ranges as well! ;)

I know some strains like different levels as well, so I appreciate it's not an exact science either. Just interested.

Thanks man! :joint:
5.6 - 6.0

5.8 is what i shoot for tho....

canna has told me 6.0-6.2 for veg. and 5.8 for flower, but i usually just shoot for the 5.8 tho.

welcome,

no, i dont believe that the pro has nutes in it. I THINK it just is ph buffered for you? idk for sure, my store only carries the canna coco "natural".

make sure its not the "Terra pro plus" because it does have a EC of 1.3

either way i would only use plain water for seeds/seedlings.

everything else sounds good.... more light is always nice tho.

The Pro Plus is better prepared. It is buffered better and it is not sterilized.

I didn't even know they had two.

For all the low down and dirty go to Canna's site at http://www.canna-uk.com/coco_50l_bags

I am using the 28ml of each A+B per 5gal of water on the new seedlings along with 6ml of House and Garden Root Excelerator,
sorry that stuff rocks even if it isn't Canna, as per the nute calculator on the canna site. Though I believe they recommend RHIZOTONIC at about 60ml/5gal.

Of course if you get any burning back off the nutes.
These are all started in Rapid Rooters and are about 5 days since I planted them.

I think there is one in there that is 10days.

i wouldnt be scared to use the rhizo or roots exl with seedlings , but i would be scared to use anything else, although i admit that they do look fine...actually im really suprised they arent burning.
i read that it can mess with the chemical process of the plant when u use nutes during the first and even second week of seedlings... not sure where JC gets his info tho.

Hey all,

I will be using Humboldt Gravity for my current grow in coco. I am using the Canna coco a+b, canna PK 13/14, and CalMg. ;-)

I will be adding the Gravity for the final 3 weeks of flowering. How should I adjust my nutes when I begin to use gravity? I know I'll need to cut them back, just not sure HOW much.

I saw that you mentioned that you've used gravity before jberry. How did you go about adjusting your nutes?

My current plan is to begin adding 5mL/gallon of Gravity beginning 3 weeks before the flowering is due to end (for me, that's week 5). By week 5, I had planned to have my Canna coco a+b nutes up to 10ml/gallon at that point (not taking into consideration the need to scale back the nutes) with 4ml/gallon of PK 13/14 and 3 ml/gallon of CalMag.

The instructions on Gravity indicate to cut nutes to 1/3 strength. Not too thrilled about that idea so I'm curious to hear what others have done.

-Butters :bigjoint:
did u start using gravity yet? i looked at my bottle again and my label says 1-2 ml per gallon............ you said you were going to use 5ml per gallon and im worried that may be too much?

5ml per gallon will burn the fuck out of ya girls man
Good to know.

I forget where I found the 5mL instructions but it sounded high to me too. I have a couple of weeks before I start adding it. I plan on going 1-2mL and going a little under 1/2 strength on the nutes.

when growing with coco when do I start taking away the A and B from my flowering plants?
I have been told that taking them off the last week helps with the flavor? is this so?

Hey guys!

Joining you from Sweden! Read through the thread and I must say it feels like I'm in the right place for getting help with my first Coco-grow! I've only grown in soil before, indoors and out!

Now to business:

37 Diesel Ryder seeds in paper since yesterday, most have already cracked/sprouted!

The nutrients I've got are: A&B, Rhizotonic, Cannazym and PK 13/14!

My main concern is about the nute-dosage of this AF-strain!

This strain sholud start flowering week 3-4 and finishes within 8-9 weeks from seed!

I was thinking of starting them in smaller pots before sexing, and then moving them into bigger ones for flower!

Haven't gotta a EC-measuring device for now, but I do have one for PH(including calibration solution), so that's gonna have to do it for now!

Lights:

4x36w T5's for "veg"

2x400w Hps for flower!

Any ideas/experience about AF's in Coco are welcome

Peace

word jberry!

i just got a 250 ml bottle of that stuff n im half way down it n i cant see it makes that much difference, i know the roots are under the coco n you cant see em but how do you get dead roots on a plant that's thriving in the first place? surely roots get bigger and branch out like the top half of the plant? and don't die till the plants dying off?

unless your re using the coco i cant see much benefit to cananzym but im probably wrong. lets face it it wouldn't be the first time...

its more like a insurance policy for your plants health, i only use it once or twice a week... it doesnt really help with yield.
