SuperSkunk Manifold

Feeding day update. The seedling was drying so I added maybe 1/4 cup of RO around the edges of the cup. I added the new light and when I plugged it in the timer/always-on switch magically changed without my knowledge... Poor girl had about 36 hours straight before I noticed.

I have not pruned a thing on this plant since before I flipped her. I was debating doing a big pruning going into the 4th week of flower (next Tuesday) to get rid of the huge fan leavesIMG_7724.JPG

Then I noticed in this pic the lower flower on the left, and it is stacked and plump just like the tops. No pruning is planned. These QB's are showing that they get the light penetration.IMG_7721.JPG

The no-veg flip is just a mess, I am going to prune sprouts next watering just so I can see what the heck is going on. She's bushing out a little still, but isn't drinking much or quickly. I will probably wait on the major pruning until she starts drinking more, but some of the 'cloner' limbs sent out a sprout that ended up like skinny toppings (like a wishbone) where neither limb gained size. I'll take the worst off of each of those tomorrow and see if that boosts the rest.

And this one has settled into the new pot officially and no longer looks like a kid in mans shoes. This one is still in veg and will get a leaf pruning to make room for more.

And her she is after the beat-down ;)
FWIW, When I do a major pruning like this, I untie everything first and fluff it up, I lollipopped each limb of lower fans, 'underneath' shoots, then retied them down in better positions.

Read a post earlier where someone assumes that there was really never any skunk varietal ....his hypothesis was when we are new to cannabis it all smells super skunky........I had to giggle cause there's DEF no mistaking the heavy pungent golf ball skunk buds I saw, smelt and lived near in the late 80's! Straight up fire all the way around! Maybe it was found by accident ......but I do know it's well worth a bring that chit back effort! More than any other old school cultivar for me ESP!
I'm SERIOUSLY trying to find a good skunk cultivar to run and search for expressions with! I don't care if I have to grow Ina Fucken tent or a hotel room! I refuse to give up on this cultivar!
There's a guy at icmag named dankwolf who is doing a skunk search project but they had a huge snowstorm up where he is a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from him since. I'm willing to devote years of my life to this search!

@diggs99 , I just got that silicone sleeve that fits in the Ardent Nova. Looks like a winner.

That is a few grams of first run dry-sift keif. The plan is to clarify some butter, decarb the keif, then run the unit for another cycle with decarbed stuff and oil or butter and it infuses it. It worked well with a random glass jar that fit in it, the sleeve being form fitted should make it better.

Biggest thing is guessing at the THC content of the keif (anywhere from 40%-70%) and figuring out how much to use with how much butter. The first test is always on a "nothing to do" day :)
I just ordered one of these, hoping to make oils, have you tried doing sugar leaves and all the trim once you've harvested?

LOL - WELCOME! And for all new followers because of the contest this is my story.

Honestly, here's the scoop. First time I got good weed it was skunk. This was 1979 in school ;) This was the first lid I bought that was one bud. It smelled like Pepe LePew got lost in a pine tree, and I got H.A.F. (get the moniker? :) ) and it was sticky as hell.

Anyway, I was worried buying seeds online etc. but found a chat-site like this when I was looking for answers to a growing problem. The site was supported by the seed company (ILGM https://shop.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/) and seemed to be reliable, so I did a cash purchase with some money I could afford to lose. They had a 10+10free deal that was about $100 and the description of their Superskunk seemed like what I wanted to recapture from my youth.

A few months later after I had killed about 6 seeds with newbie mistakes, I remembered their "germination guarantee" and figured I would email them. They sent 6 replacement seeds. I also got to choose between any seeds of the same price but they had to be in 5-packs, so I couldn't get 6 different strains. I got 5 Granddaddy Purple and one Northern lights. Since then I have been experimenting, taking notes, learning, and the GDP monster-cropped clone is where I am at skill-wise now.

As far as this cultivar is concerned, it ain't that "old-school" skunk yet for me. But I have 4 seeds growing now to keep trying :)

Yes and no. I am not a hash smoker (I do, just don't prefer it), but bubble hash seems the go-to with trim. A wad of bubble could be decarbed, but I wouldn't trust the results. I am not sending anything out for testing so I assume my homegrown is 20%THC for easy math. I adjust dosages based on results, but that is the starting point.

Most recent harvest (having the Nova) here's the bullets
  • Dried all the trim and did dry-sift over a 120m screen. (Trim-bin) Got about 5g of keif that dried to about 4.5, and decarbed to 3.
  • I had few big dense buds, so I snipped off everything but the stuff that would dry to pretty buds.
  • I ran those through 1/2" mesh screen and put bigger stuff in one pile
  • I ran the remainder through a 1/4" mesh, and decarbed what fell through, after it dried.
Here's the stuff that didn't get de-carbed yet. The 2/26 was harvest, and the 4/1 is the 'full-cure' date based on when it was dry enough not to lose weight jarred.

@harryhoudinii feel free to ask whatever,

I have the decarbed keif in a container slowly drying out, and when it can break back apart fairly easily I will make budder and post about it.

May I ask why decarb process is so important?

The scene in Super-troopers where the guy eats a few ounces of weed and gets high is bogus.

If weed is not decarboxylated with heat, the body cannot use it. Smoking does that. Baking it in an oven also does that, but ovens are finicky.
If you read through and watch the videos on their site, they explain it better than I can. Just know that I as a personal user of the product can attest to the accuracy of their claims.
