You're the fucking idiot.
There are several laws that provide the Constitution to be over ridden.
Martial Law is one of them. George Washington used it to lead armed troops on U.S. soil to quell the whiskey rebellion. Lincoln actually used it and got rid of Habeas Corpus during the civil war so he could hold suspected agents of the south indefinitely without cause.
The Patriot act is another.
It's painfully obvious you are clueless on how the law works.
Just because you're a blithering idiot and don't understand basic law doesn't mean the government was doing anything wrong.
It's just that people pander to idiots like you to create an issue where there isn't one because they know you're too fucking stupid to know any better and will drink their cool aide, support their cause and help promote it.
Just like the Trump morons that actually think a wall will work when it never has in recorded history just because Trump says so.
Pull Chris Hedges dick out of your mouth, take a shower, brush your teeth, put on some clean clothes, and go enroll in school. Learn how things work and stop blindly believing shit you see on the internet.
So I'm an idiot because I think that laws overruling the Constitution are suspect, get routinely misused and I speak out about it? Lol
Because I think the Patriot Act is an Orwellian crime against our constitutional rights that provides for no discernable improvement in our national security?
Have you noticed what Trump plans to do with his emergency powers, nevermind the pathetic excuse for invoking them? You're actually implying that suspension of habeas corpus is a GOOD idea?! The East German Stasi would have LOVED you, buddy!
No troops are invading our country, no existential threat exists. You're just terrified of what the State News Services tell you to be and you want to tell me that I'M the manipulated one? Lol
Your defense that the government isn't doing anything wrong because it has given itself the power to ignore our constitutional rights at will is straight out of the Fascist playbook.
I bet I've had more experience, schooling and training in the law than you have. But of course I'm an idiot because I question the Official Truth. I think you've forgotten what patriotism actually means, if you ever had a clue to begin with. Hint; it has little to do with standing for the pledge of allegiance or just showing up to vote.
Your paragraph about pandering is blissfully lacking in substance so it isn't worth a response.
I've never supported The Chump or his wall so attempting to smear me with it is more proof of your inability to think clearly.
The homophobic smear says more about your attitudes than anything I could say.
Chris Hedges has seen more wars and their causes and consequences than frankly you have shown the ability to even imagine, much less discuss. The idea that you can dismiss him so casually shouts that you don't care about the truth; you just want me to shut up and quit exposing your insecurities, biases and ignorance.
Let's talk about hygiene. What, exactly, does it have to do with anything under discussion? More febrile insults signifying nothing but your own inability to think.
On to school; I have a bachelor's degree, grew up with professors, worked with journalists (my father was one), participated in campus debates and elections and much, much more. How about you? Let's see your degree in political science? I have multiple family members with career level experience in the Defense Department and the Department of State and have enjoyed many long discussions where they've shared their FIRST HAND and PERSONAL experience about how things really work, who benefits and why. What are your sources? MSNBC? Fox News?! Please.
Anyone who's been to college knows that going to class is the beginning of one's education on the subject rather than the end. To educate one's self, one must dig into the subject, read widely different sources, deliberately seek out opposing views, think carefully about the arguments posed, validate and verify the facts and then apply critical thinking skills to come to one's conclusions.
I see exactly no evidence that you or most of your sycophants here engage in anything resembling this intellectual process, preferring mutual adulation to informative discourse.
So tell us again; who's the idiot?
