DIY with Quantum Boards

I’m the new boy for sure. Yeah @pops, only the far red. And I’m not versed on it enough to know if I really need it or not. I am gonna add another HLG- 320. That’ll give me four of’em over a 5X7. I’m good with that. But does the far red actually help? From what I read, it does in its own way. I’m not sure when to use’em during the day/night cycle. But if they’ll help my plants, I’ll add them too. And I’ll figure out when to turn’em on and off.

By the way pops, I didn’t retro fit my hoods to use like I thought I was. Just don’t need’em. These things run so cool. It’s great, less AC, less dehumidifier, less chiller now too. And I got rid of all duct work, and a fan, plus two light movers. I checked my wattage at the wall with all that stuff and with the 2 600 HPS bulbs. Total wattage before was 1360 Watts. Now, with three 320’s I’m only running 800. And when I add another, I’ll start at 200 watts each. But I’ll have plenty of room to go up if needed. But my room is definitely cooler now! I’m not sure who said it. But I may have to add heat this winter. I’ve never had to do that before. My man was right.

I have my room setup with 4ea) qb 288 & 4ea) qb 120's, and a 5 cob full spectrum fixture I built, I have a far red light bar that goes on at lights out for 20 min. I just added a solarcure fluorescent tube fixture for uvb. The room is 15 +- sq ft, 42" x 52". Also have a bunch of led tube fixtures on the walls for lower lighting. The whole ceiling is basically full but there is room to add 2 narrow fixtures, thinking about photo red but they would only be putting out 32w combined. Think this is even worth the effort, the components would cost about $148.00.

I think calling that overkill would be a bit modest.....lol! Great looking build!

What driver/s would run 4 qb 120s a just under 70w each max?

Hlg 320h-c2800? Im still super bad at driver selection.

21.92v-23.52v : board voltage range
2800ma : board max current

57 VDC to 114 VDC : driver voltage range
2800ma : continuous current output.

23.52x4 = 94v which is less than the 114v max of your driver.
If you wire the 4 boards in series, thats pretty much the perfect driver for that imo.
You'll be able to run all 4 at full power of 2800ma and arent at a risk of over driving current if you lose a board.

The HLg-240h-C2100a will output near 2500ma per board in series.
The Hlg-240H-24A Will output near 2700ma per board in parallel.
Could I add 4 more qb120s onto the hlg-240h-24a (total of 8 ) if I want to up the efficiency down the road?
