DIY with Quantum Boards

I guess I'll play Guinea pig here..
Got these installed last night.
Running at 700ma I cant open my eyes inside the tent. I'll be needing some good sunglasses for sure.
These are 3500k 304 boards with the 660 LEDs from Shenzhen meijiu lighting co.
The promise LM561C S6 LEDs and I found several positive reviews of the boards from this company so I went ahead with it.
Total cost including aluminum angle for frames and all the wiring was around ~1300 for 16 panels
Shipping was $202 and customs/duty was $16.
Rest of my stuff wont be here until next week... but I'll keep everyone posted.
So you saved around $200 vs buying from hlg I'll pay the extra 15% for the customer service

1000w HPS @ 22" is nearly 1000 PPFD in a 4'x4' reflective space.

So with no uniformity improvements, and 37% lower PPFD, please do explain to me what type of magic this unit is working. Or refuse to listen to science and data because you already spent your money...

See, this is what I'm talking about. I haven't spent any money on a 550. I don't use or own a 550. I don't care about the 550. But you seem to care a great deal!

Lol what do you use then? You act like they have something that is worthy of the title 1000w HID replacement.

I just like to poke holes in sham marketing strategies. This one is easy.

Where's your par map for the single ended 1000w hps at 22"? It's easy to be "right" if you only give half the info.

My mistake I counted by the pic still $500 is allot different than 3000
The closest thing theyve sold to what I wanted was the 260w XW kit with the individual heatsinks for $360 for 2x 288 boards. Thats nearly 2900 for 8 kits and I still would have spent the $200 I spent on the wiring and frame bits I wanted. I wanted each board to have its own heat sink and dont have a way to cut them. the way I have them I can slide the boards up and down the frame and move the frames side to side to set them up as needed and extend any wires I need to easily. I wanted flexibility as they may not always be in this tent. I think you also saw my post before my edit, the $1300 price was also including shipping/duty costs.
All in all I got the DIY components for under half of what HLG would have cost for the same setup with 288s. The $3,000 I get is dramatic but I tend to look at DIY cost vs what it would cost me to buy one built as what I saved.
Really not trying to start anything or argue. I know ive taken a risk, but I did the research and felt comfortable with it vs the savings. I had a strict lighting budget and was about to go amazon LEDs until I found these.
Initial impression of everything is really good. I guess well see how it goes.

My build is in my avatar pic. Four QB120s spread out over a 31"x31" canopy. I have no uniformity complaints.

I'm still waiting for examples of unbiased 550 owners who believe it's a 600w HPS replacement.

Can't find the post I saw saying that today. Doesn't matter though, the data speaks for itself.

After a bunch of my own research, I bought 16 304 boards with individual heatsinks for most of the reasons CCCmints mentioned. I went with the assumption of 16 boards replacing 4x 600w lights. I went LED to save on electricity. all 16 boards running at full power pulls less current than the air conditioner in my living room and overall theyll be on less that it is. I wanted individual boards because of the light distribution, I can move my boards around to center them over plants better ect.. Most of the stuff I found with people using them, they keep them more spaced out than something like the 550 that has 4 boards crammed together. Im honestly not sure if the 16 will be enough for my space or if ill need to bump it to 20, my meter will be here some time next week. There's actually quite a bit of info available on QBs in general if you can find it. I didnt find HLGs actual site until well after I decided what I wanted to do.
