Go ahead, buy that cheap junk, then you WILL be an expert on shit, because thats what you'll be buying. Or, make them prove they are usingf Samsung chips, because they are not. they are Epistar, you know, the same company that makes chips for all the burple gargae Chinese lights. I'll garantee you these Alibaba boards and heatsinks are NOT the same quality.

We already had some asshole come here ttalking about boards he was trying to sell. He got a rude awakening when he found out what a pile of shit they sold him!

Antoher thing, try to get warranty service on Alibaba crap. Good Luck!

So Are HLG's baords worth the extra money? Damn right they are! Look through this thread at the comments on customer service, NO ONE will treat you better than these guys. My personal experience with needing support was that they went way beyond what you'd normally expect!

So you can save some money and take your chances, or you can do the smart thing and buy a product that has PROVEN to be top shelf.

And I'll be here laughing my ass off when those that buy counterfeit QB boards watch their lights die.........
I don't think you know how this whole thing works.

The Cree chips are real. What heatsink you talking about that's $70? And your welcome to believe whatever you want. If you want advice on other people's products, go to their thread, or website this thread is for HLG products. If we were interested, this would be the cheapchineselight thread......... If you have some reason to not like HLG, then why are you posting here?

International shipping sucks, I agree, but they have no control over that. And the boards they sell are NOT quantum Boards, they just steal the name. HLG put a lot of development time into their boards they are a better product. I'd like to see a side by side comparison of those heatsinks. Maybe they are worth, but you know the saying, /you get what you pay for!

I hope ledgardener tries the r2t and kingbrite qbs to see if they are legit. Kingbrite used to sell legit cobs.
Still do.

Yeah, that philosophy isn't a great one to live by. Look into the psychological phenomenon of correlating quality of a product with its price. Its pretty well researched and documented.

I'm not saying you have to pay a premium price to get quality, but that you should question "cheap" products, all products really!
Sometimes, you get a bargain, more often you get junk. fair prices on good products. The concept that cheap is good enough is not a great philosophy either. Basing purchasing decisions on price, alone, high or low, is not the way to go.

Absolutely in total agreement. In my experience, that vendor (KingBrite) is extremely professional, and sends high quality components at a fair price quicker than I imagined they could. I've dropped a glass lense of their's on its face from 6 feet in the air with a heatsink attached to it and it didn't even scratch, much less crack. There's data posted on this site that confirms they produce high quality stuff. So if I, personally, see them selling a product (which has been manufactured in China prior), at a good price, I'm hesitant to jump on the bandwagon where everyone believes its garbage solely because its coming from a Chinese vendor. Jerry isn't a stranger to the community.

No, you're talking about some sleazy seller making a buck off the Quantum Board name that LEGALLY belongs to HLG. These guys are literally stealing money out of the pockets of HLG, by cashing in on the reputation of HLG's trademarked product.

Don’t know why I haven’t thought Of this till now but thinking of replacing my double slate heatsinks with the triples. If price isn’t too crazy. Would make for a much better spread going XL style.
