light fixtures for 2x2x4 tent

Hey guys. I was wondering what kind of light fixture would fit in my 2x2x4 tent. I will have a 300 watt led that the tent comes with but there are 2 tent poles so one for each light i was thinking. I would have gotten T5s but I think 2 ft is as small as i can get and that would be too long i think. So are there light fixtures with a plug already attached that i could hang? Like does Lowes sell them? The wife will have a heart attack if I try to buy an hps or something like that after buying this tent lol. If this idead doesnt sound good then what other cheap supplemental lighting would you suggest?

yea i would definitely do that but like i said, $250 on this tent plus over a hundred on soil and stuff. Yeah i feel like a kid who had McDonalds and is asking for Friendlies for dessert. Wife will be extremely unhappy lol. Cfl's and a little 3 bulb fixture should be pretty cheap. Just wondering if they make a 3 bulb fixture thats say 18 inches and has a plug already attached thats hangable from the tent pole.

the cfls plugged into the ziptied surge protector seems unsafe and a fixture with a cord is pretty idiot friendly. I cant be bothered with splicing and setting up wires and stuff. Not because i dont want to, but because i am just not capable. 130 true watts of LED and say like 100-150 watts of cfl for two 3 gallon pots should hopefully give me what i'm looking for.

I use a Rapid Led (Timber good also) plus a blurple in a 2X2 X 4 space

I also use CFL's but they are not as efficient as COB led's as mostly I add CFL's for extra heat to keep my temps above 85

likely my next light will be another Rapid Led ....free shipping from Amazon

Hey nice setup. That's what I'm looking for. Do you think theses could both hang from my tent poles with no problem? And it sounds like heat isn't a problem for your space but what about a small tent? And lastly, could I buy it at Lowe's or HD?

Oh cool I was reading about the led flood lights but read that they do nothing basically. I would try them but my problem is that I know I need more light for at least 2 plants and I need a way to hang a fixture of just get something in there to screw a light in. Something like an 18 inch or smaller fixture.

Any light does something. Its just a matter of how much it does.
Can you link or name the "300" watt LED you have coming.

Well it's coming in the mail today. It's a topolite complete grow set with carbon filter. I'm on a kindle and don't know how to link on it. It's on Amazon and got pretty much all good ratings. Worse case scenario... Light is shit and I wait a couple weeks for wife to calm down and buy a real light. But 2 plants is all I am looking to grow and I was hoping that 300 true watts of lights will be enough.

Ok I found it. Its actual wattage is 120w so your right to want to supplement it. It will grow as is, just not amazing.
300w of quality LED would be way too much in a 2x2, I use a bigger variation of what I linked earlier from HLG but essentially the same 135w per 2x2 of my 8x4. That works amazing. With those cheap Chinese blurple lights you want more wattage, 50 real watts per square foot should be about right, so your just a little under powered.

Nothing wrong with white LED work lights or spot lights if you can find something to give you an extra 80w for the right price.
Not going to be as good as my lighting but will be better than cfl.

Thanks a lot for looking that up for me. So that is the sarcastic blurple comment I keep hearing about lmao. Of course I would be the one to unknowingly buy the dirtiest one. I will post back when it's all set up and see what your 2 cents is. Thanks again Corey.

Youll be fine running that 1 light for your 2 plants while vegging. You can easily fill up your 2x2 with 1 plant 7gal trained and get the same results as 2 plants 3 gals trained. So many possibilities and options you can do. You'll get it figured out my friend

blurple. It's like when you find out ur not in on the joke but you are the joke. That sucks man. You've given me hope though and I am gonna get it figured out. I like the one plant idea that you presented. Maybe I could do a little backyard stealth grow with the other plant. We just don't get the right sun here in the woods in upstate NY.

I run a 2x2 , I own 4 lights. 2 blurples, and 2 DIY fixtures. I like the DIY fixtures over the blurple. Find my plants love the white leds over blurple leds
Spider farmer 60 led blurp, (135 wall watts)
Unit Farm UFO 80 high end blurp, (180 wall watts)
Veg DIY 480pcs 5630 smd led 6500k (165 watts max) $65
And a flower DIY 36x 10 watt 3200k (440 watts max $100

Manufacturers of the low end 300w blurps r the joke, not you.

They market on new and inexperienced growers. And make false claims on wattage and etc.

I think it's easier that it's 2018 and when coming around on these forums and looking for info on led lights, ya should know within a search or 2 that blurple leds r not cutting it.
@coreywebster has some valid points as well.
Ya getting some decent advice. Just keep asking questions and researching. You'll find what you like and what works for you
