Grandmaster Level - HLG Quantum Boards vs 1000w HPS side by side (youtube)

If you really want to work with VPD you should measure the leaf temperature. Otherwise it's still just a guess.

In the "Arduino experiments" in my signature you can see a "PT camera" (infrared temperature sensor to measure and log leaf temperatures) you can build yourself. Or you can use one of those IR contactless thermometer things (usually yellow pistol shaped devices).
I do have a Cen-tech IR temp gun-,, 80F-60% is my goal, then drop to 70F-40% night

surprised no-one updated this,

on track to hit 1.84gpw GML hit with the QB550, more then he EVER hit with the HPS,

still dryin
This seems like a good time to reflect on the wisdom and foresight of the great Yodaweed, etched into the eternal stone of the internet on 11/19/2016 (from the first page of the "DIY with Quantum Boards" thread): "These things are going to be weak, you can probably come within an inch of these lights without any issues, they wouldn't bleach and your main issue would be directly touching and burning. I wouldn't bother growing plants with this as the main light source, better as side lighting or a novelty item."

Good old Yoda's still making us laugh to this very day.

Why are you such a tool? Always trying to call / Single out other members of this site like your some master grower?
I am pretty certain @Yodaweed has you out harvested you at least 10:1
You fan boys are getting a bit overzealous
That's fine if he has more harvests than I do. Doesn't change the fact that what he said in that thread is gloriously stupid. Have you even read what he posted?

I tried to watch the GML youtube vids, fuck does that guy go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Glad that plants can't hear.
Don't slam Yodaweed he generally is retarded.

The only "fan boys" around here are the people jumping into every thread in the LED section trolling people with their bullshit about other lighting tech. Meanwhile LEDs have already won the war, but some people's brains are too fossilized to ever admit it.

Boring wet blankets, insulting everybody. Meanwhile kind, constructive people in here (like HLG) try to improve and figure out what modern technology can do, when they can break through the noise from trolls.

LOL!
You don't at all consider this sentence a form of trolling? Even a little?

LEDs are taking over every segment of the lighting market, and continue to get more efficient with every update cycle. Everything else is the walking dead at this point.

^^^^^^
This I agree with.

This is BS to those who know.

LOL so this is in no way trolling. 0 trolling in this huh?
Have a good one, nice chat. Diner time. :peace:

Only issues with LED remains to be the price. Of course they are profoundly less expensive than they were even a year or two ago, but it's still not as cheap as some other comparable options.

Anyone denying their ability to outperform HPS, DEHPS, CMH, LEP, CFL, T5, etc on a watt for watt basis needs to get learnt. Also anyone denying their ability to have the same deep canopy penetration of those other types of lights needs to get learnt. Lighting physics isn't the easiest thing to understand , but it's not hard either.

Once these crazy efficient LEDs come down in price to the cheap ass (and unreliable) amazon HPS kits, THEN they will have truly "won the war".
