DIY with Quantum Boards

Surprise in the quantum garden ...... AFFLECK !

Came across this today as I was pinching small brown leaves off ...
One of those supposed " godfather OG " is actually a ducks foot hybrid.
Not sure how I missed those tell tale leaves ... But there she is ...

Temps in the evening have dropped to the lower 60s for the past week or so and it has brought out some purple / mottling colors . Buds are looking white and frosty.

I had a small issue with whiteflies ( little fuckers ) and that is why I was inspecting plants. When I was running the Deep Red LEDs it wasn't readily apparent that this plant was much different.

Open to suggestions on those little white bastards - SPINOSAD has cut them down pretty well but am using sticky traps too. I just don't want to blast my buds with chemical.

maybe its just here but all the soil they carry at lowes is shit, Its either that Staygreen garbage of Miracle Grow poison..... fuck all that shit! I get good, organic soil from Canadian companies, either Isabelle or Lamberts. Its sad when I can buy a 30qt bag of GOOD soil for $3.00 a bag, yet pay $7-$14 for crap at lowes. Go to a greenhouse to get your organic supplies, fuck Lowes...lol

hell, you can't even trust bagged coco......... a friend had a large grow ruined by root aphids that came in his bagged Roots Organic coco.... told him by the compressed bales. They are bone dry and no bugs.

And I have been recycling my soil for 2 years now. My soil is better now than it was when bought.

You can kill the pests by putting the soil in black plastic trash bags and leaving them in the sun for a day or two.

I think the quality of all the bagged soils has gone down as demand has increased, I'm sterilizing with heat from now on because pest problems have gotten so common.

Inspected bags today ( they are stored inside ) not in a garage or shed. Bag shows no sign of bugs , problem came from outside . I HAVE HAD bad bags of soil before , right from the start ...... Which I remedied with Neem Meal / Cake added to bag mix. Then sealed in extra bags . But this time it hit the plants only , not my stored bags .

So I whipped up some DAWN and some water , sprayed the leaves and top dressed with Neem cake ... Now no issues ...

Little bastards were not too heavy in the garden , no leaf clustering just a few flying around ...

Thanks to the rats in the bags , no more bugs ! Woo hoo !

Is this the same for this type from Lowes? I've been using this type but am open to finding out if it's garbage.
Thanks

It might sound a bit silly, bit the best way I found to use the sticky traps, is to stick them to the wall s of my tent just behind my fans. The air suction from the fans would suck all these buggers right into your sticky traps. I used this method with 2x 8" fans and it worked well, in conjunction with a very small amount of 35% hydrogen peroxide that I added to the res. Worked for me w/o using any harsh chemicals.

@Budzbuddha is bagged soils are not stored properly they can get bugs "stored outside". If it's all you have access to I get it.

My Lowes has a small hydro section with coco based soils, nutes etc, forget the name. They store pallets of the soil outside in the back, sad.

Home Depot does the same thing. All of their soil is outside -- and it rains a LOT here.
2 cu ft of waterlogged soil is heavy!

I always try to avoid wet bagged amendments or mixes. I have had wet compost kill anything and everything. I get most of my big stuff as soon as the stuff arrives at supermarkets and big boxes in the spring but have plenty hoarded. Can never say enough for Back To Nature Cotton Burr Compost and maybe Black Kow!

they don't sell that here, can't answer for that product. I do suggest to people though, to not use peat based product and use coco instead. Peat is not a renewable resource, it takes hundreds of years for a peat bog to develop.
Yeah but thats a huge pile of peet up there in canada there using, i hate wasting it, i shake off the rootballs and reuse as much as i can, never tried coco maybe this is the year as i would love to try it, just always used promix with such great results, ive amended promix with some composted soil for great drainage and added nutes, but like everyone always looking for a different ways to grow

I've read that we have large peat reserves here in Michigan (mainly in the upper peninsula), but I don't know if that's still the case. The most recent report I can find on the subject is from 1976! With the craft distillery movement picking up steam here, I've been waiting for someone to make a Michigan peat malt whisky, but I haven't seen that yet. Maybe our peat doesn't give the right flavor profile, compared to Scotland's.

Sorry, that went way OT!
