DIY with Quantum Boards

Considering that there are a zillion old reflectors out there, I'm surprised there aren't more conversion kits.
In addition to QB & driver, they'd need a few connectors, and some wire. No heat sync required.
Hell someone could even turn it into a small business! Buying old reflectors super cheap, then converting them to high tech lights at a price point lower than the bug guys.

I'm looking for a way to add a 700 ma string of deep reds\UVAs to supplement QBs without using a second HLG driver.

Can I use a Mean Well LDD-700HW buck driver fed off of the constant voltage HLG-185H driver in parallel to a QB ?

Looking to add some light to my 315cmh.
Im illuminating a 4x4.

I was thinking maybe 8 cobs around my 18" square hood.

Wonder what your thoughts on mixing the QB @4000k with my cmh @ 3100k

Why waste all that headroom with a heavy, old hood? Hell you can gain a foot of clearance without one.

Clearance isn't a problem for everyone, plus my adjust-a-wing doesn't weigh much.
It looks like quantum boards are ideal for tents, but COBs might be better for larger areas.
Lots of hybrids too.
Very interesting...

Surprise in the quantum garden ...... AFFLECK !

Came across this today as I was pinching small brown leaves off ...
One of those supposed " godfather OG " is actually a ducks foot hybrid.
Not sure how I missed those tell tale leaves ... But there she is ...

Temps in the evening have dropped to the lower 60s for the past week or so and it has brought out some purple / mottling colors . Buds are looking white and frosty.

I had a small issue with whiteflies ( little fuckers ) and that is why I was inspecting plants. When I was running the Deep Red LEDs it wasn't readily apparent that this plant was much different.

Open to suggestions on those little white bastards - SPINOSAD has cut them down pretty well but am using sticky traps too. I just don't want to blast my buds with chemical.

If it was souly for flowering?

I was advised to mix my spectrums; i was contimplating a secound bulb of the same, then was advised to get a 4200k to go with my 3100k.

Would you suggest 2 boards or 4?

I'd do 3k straight for flowering. 2 boards will work well. I wouldn't mix them honestly. People are stuck in hps(red) and mh(blue) mentality. Boards and cmh at ~3k are already "mixed"..... Too cool and you will cause flowering to take longer. Apparently blue can force more stomal opening but I only suggest that if temps are too low.
