I have never used this medium before, so if i got this correct. I use coco coir by itself and add nutrients during watering? I was going to use 2 gallon fabric bags. Do i use nutrients every time I water?
Yes. And get a pH and EC meter. I suggest a Bluelab Combo meter. Keep it clean and calibrated. Follow the light feed chart on Cannas website. Its pretty spot on. Skip all the pricey additives at first. Maybe just the expensive but very effective Rhizotonic. Its perfect for already rooted cuttings. But really just use the base. 2 and 3 gallon fabric bags are perfect for just about any size indoors for most growers. Make sure you know what yiur starting water ec and pH is too. Always use a nutrient solution...never plain start water. Search this forum for all the coco coir growing threads and stickies you can. Take notes...and go for it. Its easy. Cannas brick or loose bag coco coir needs no rinsing. Its quality. Washed and buffered to a high professional standard. The nutrient lineup is foolproof. They have ALOT of experience doing what theyve always done. All you need to do is do your part and follow some simple rules. The whole Canna program is pretty much dkne for you....and growers all over the planet use thier products to grow stinky buds with minimal effort.

I was recently introduced to a grower who got tired of falling indoor prices and moved his whole operation to a decent sized greenhouse with all the bells and whistles. He grows (or grew actually) smaller plants (for outdoor) in Canna Cogr boards with the whole Canna lineup with a fancy drip fertigation system. He showed me pics of his mid flower crop from September. His crop was jaw dropping to say the least. I have a smaller greenhouse myself but always did tye organic rich soil thing outdoors. Next season iam gonna try coco coir slabs similar to this dudes grow. Unreal results in a greenhouse.

What exactly does rizotonic do? Making the switch from Lucas to Cana coco nutes

Rizotonic is for roots, produces fast growing strong healthy roots. Well worth the money. If you foliar feed rather than root drench it will act faster and save on the amount used.
Do you use tonic all thru grow?

Should I get boost and pk as well? I grow in coco

I personally stop using Rizotonic at the start of week four of 12/12.
Forget the boost not worth the cash, get the PK13/14 add it end of week three thru to end week four of 12/12, then again a few weeks before harvest.

Hi, I've a couple of questions if you'd be so kind. I'm a new grower 4 weeks into flower.

Why is boost not worth it? Do you use something else?

I thought the PK 13/14 was for use only during week 5. Is there a benefit to using at a different time or is it changed due to not using boost?.

All I now use for complete grow is Rizotonic, Cannazyme, (that keeps the roots in top condition) Canna A&B,(the meat and potatoes) Canna PK13/14 I use as described it just works best for me this way, I seen no difference using anything else, except my bank account now has cash in it

Thats Ok, if it works for you. I struggled paying for the nutrients this run, I had some a+b to start with but that's all, I got boost and cannazyme a week after flower but have plenty left for the next one.

Nearly finished my first grow, its looking ok to be fair.. I had a few issues at first and using old second hand tent etc...

Got myself a new tent, light and extractor plus auto pots for the second go.
Rhizotonic on order..

Thanks

No question. Although many growers get away with it and ive seen many a finely ran flood and drain setup using coco coir....its IDEALLY suited to an open non recovery drip or top feed fertigation program.
I have completed my dutch bucket coco setup. I went with DTW, at the end of the day, i am only really using 18 gallons of water each day. so its not the end of the world. I went with CHEM-GRO TOMATO FORMULA 4-18-38. I got a 25 lb bag, so price wise, it should't be a killer. I figure it will last me about 5000 gallons. so at 18 gallons a day around a 10 months.

My setup is the bottom 2 inches of the bato bucket is clay pebbles, then the rest is canna coco. I have 2 feed lines per bucket, that run for about 1 minute 2x a day, the two lines put out about 50 oz of water twice a day per pot. There is a good amount of run off when the pump shuts off. Im not sure i like water distribution method i am using, i wish there was way to spread it better over the top of the grow medium.

any tips or suggestions would be welcomed.

I keep dissing Rhizotonic and Cannazym because of the price but DAMMIT. THAT SHIT TOGETHER JUST BLOWS ROOTS OUT PERIOD. I always shy away from the pricey additives at the hydro shops but again...i just bought a liter of each about 10 days ago...and WOW. The shkt just amazes me everytine i pop a nice small plant out a 4 inch or red dixie starter pot. I have to admit it now...that shit is way bettwr than General Organics BioRoot or Bcuzz/Greenfuse. I used to think and tell everyone that they were all the same but they are not. Roots Excel from H&G is good too but Rhizo amd Cannazym...damn that stuff goes good together in my tanks. No more dissing the Canna gear. The proof is beyond a doubt in my gardens.

Hello. Not to sound like an idiot but could someone help me with the canna chart. They talk about phases instead of weeks.1 period the flowers get longer.next period they get more volume.Next phase they gain weight.etc.Well it seems to me as they get longer they also get more volume and get heavier all at the same time.I just want to get the timing right especially the pk.Some pointers to exactly what i am looking for would really be appreciated.Thanks.

This is so true
Making the switch back to canna after trying a few line ups myself. Since1991 you are dropping some good knowledge brother. I have the ability to completely control my environment. Mind sharing your ideal co2, humidity and canopy temps for flower? I'll be sealed drip to waste coco set up this time around. Can't seem to get a clear answer is why I ask. Thanks in advance.

You can start co2 ppm at 800 at start of flowering and ramp it up 100 ppm each week till u top out at 1100 or 1200 ppm. Or you can just blast em at 900 to 1100 ppm right from the start. Either or and honestly i dont see a difference. Taper it down to ambient last 10 days or so for on time ripeness. Canopy temps...78 to 82 at peak flowering. Drop this towards 75 or even 70 towards the end. You can really play with day and night temps to control plant stretch in early floweri g too. Called the temp differential. Old greenhouse trick. Warmer night temps (slightly....about 5 degrees) can inhibit the plants natural giberellic acid response (hormones) and makes for a less stretchy and more compact plant. Relative Humidity you want kinda high in the beginning. 65% or so. Drop this 5% each week till your at 40 or even 35% right at the end. Its all strain specific really. No one dials a new cut in one run i dont care who you are. Plant numbers. Environment. Feeds...canopy management ...etc...its all built AROUND the strain your trying to get maximum quality and quantity from...in the least aamount of time energy and expense to do it.

I totally agree, Rhizotonic and Cannazym are tits. Have damn near a solid root mass on the outside of the pots. If they did not brune off naturally it would be a solid mass.

I am using A&B, Rhizo, Cannazym, Boost, but I have a gallon of Liquid KoolBloom (0-10-10).
I have yet to figure out how to use it as a replacement for P/K (0-10-11) Suggestion would be great folks. I am at day 11 of 12/12, so I know I will be needing a P/K product soon.
I have run the gamut on nutes over my years of growing and have a collection in a box of unused nutes. But I have found my Canna now and not going back.

Run that liquid kool bloom. Its basically the same as Canna P/k. Half to 3/4 tsp per gallon at about week 4 to 6 strain depending. I got left over bottles of Ionic p/k and Botanicare Hydroplex I use with other brand base nutes. Hplex has a few other goodies but basically its all mono potassium phosphate. Go easy with it. Like i said..half the three quarters of a teaspoon per gallon of solution. You can drop your base feed down a little as well if your running high EC but i never do cuz I dont really run a high EC with coco coir.
